Maybe its "taper madness" but I am thinking about the Goofy! And I have never even done a marathon, or a half marathon for that matter!!

A similar "madness" is affecting me - this is my first 5k, and I am already thinking of next year's Princess 1/2!

How's the packing going everyone?

Thanks for the expo information. It is helpful, even though I am only doing the 5k. I wish I was doing the half, but had broken my foot and did not think I would be going to Florida at this time.

I am thinking about signing up for the ING Philly half.

Packing is my project for tomorrow. It is one of my least favorite things to do. I have to be packed by tomorrow night and have barely started although I have piles of things. I leave Monday night after a day of work.

I just hope I do not get sick, as the Norwalk virus is running rampant around here.

My plan has me at 5 today (didn't do it, but getting up early in the a.m. to do it) may try for 6 but no more than that.

And i know that madness all too well, as soon as we all finished the Minnie last year, we went to the GF convention center, and all signed up for the princess while we were still in WDW! LOL I hope someone is there to stop my typing fingers this time before i even try to sign up for a full.. LOL

Hi gang! Sounds like everyone is ready to go. Life in my house has been crazy lately so not much computer time for me. Found out Thurs I have bursitis in both hips. Ortho said no running until the race and then no running for 6 weeks after. He really doesn't even want me doing much walking while on vacation. Hello!!! I am going to be WDW! I am laying low until we leave on Thurs.
The pain meds are making me very sleepy so I didn't get any packing done. I kept taking a nap in between loads of laundry. At one point I fell asleep in the middle of the pile on the bed. DH said he got a picture of me but won't show me.

I leave Monday at 5 PM. Since I am working Monday (although at home) I SHOULD pack tomorrow night. I will probably start around 8 PM.

Just wanted to say safe travels to anyone fixing to leave. We won't go until Sat. morning. I can't wait to see everyone down there. I know my northern girlfriends will be the ones in shorts and tank tops saying, man, it's hot, and we sorthern girls will all have on jackets! See y'all at POR and/or the W tent!

This is SO TRUE. I was actually just at WDW LAST NIGHT, for a Quickie... and walking around Epcot for EMH I thought it was a "might bit chilly..." I even bought those winter Crocs, that were 30% off on Sale in the gift store.

(I was driving back from Naples after a business trip and my car somehow made a right on 75 and ended up in WDW.... I just don't know how it happened...)

One week from now I will be chilling out with my peeps watching Illuminations: Reflections of Earth over at EPCOT!!! Woo Hoo!!

Just thought I'd mention this randomly, we were at Epcot a week and a half ago to watch Illuminations, and they had removed the fire effect entirely from the center of the show. So it was just fountains and lights and fireworks. No balls of flame, and even the center torch when the globe opened up wasn't even lit. Is this part of cost cutting or was that portion just down for maintenance or something?

Well I woke this morning feel much better. Apparently the wonderful up and down of the weather affected my sinuses/allergies. But I will be taking those vitamins and packing the zicam

Maura when are you flying out? I'm leaving Wed night on Spirit. Susan has us looking at the Martian 1/2 again as a side note The rates go up for it on 3/1.

I think I am going to hand over the money today for the after party. As of now, it looks like Susan won't be able to make it due to a hiring freeze.

But they had a Marathon and Half Marathon clipart back in January. Not sure if they will do a Princess Marathon Weekend one but it's worth a check Just in case those official weekend shirts are itty bitty sized. I bought a ladies XL for the DL Half back in Sept and it fit wonderfully, now that same size at the Minnie when I wear it needs to come with a black bar over my chest.

so if anyone gets over to DTD and can check it out before the meet or the expo

Now back to day dreaming of watching Illuminations

They were at the world of sports last year during the expedition everest expo

PLEASE Ladies, especially with it being that it will be sunny, PLEASE bring your sunscreen and put it on before leaving your rooms in the morning. For it to be effective it has to be on your skin for about 20-30minutes. Reapply through the day and use a good sweatproof one for the day of your races.

Got my Sunsceen packed, Tracy.

Up early-under a winter storm warning and flying out in 4 hours. Hardly seems like I should need sunscreen, but know once I get through the flight and to warmer weather I'll relax and the sunscreen WILL be needed.


Little story-the first part of this trip is to celebrate our 25th anniversary (on 3/3). We were to go away for our 10th anniversary and got a huge ice storm. It knocked our power out for fives days. We had four children under the age of 8 and my DH had to cut trees from the road to get out and he went and bought us a generator for our anniversary instead.

I'm not doing anymore training-except for walking the parks.

How did you you do today during the ESPN Race?

When I did the Minnie last year I did not train at all, and my husband ran the marathon this year with no training as well.
If you think that you can complete the distance in the time go for it, it does not matter how you do it (run, walk or roll), or what time you finish it in.If you are going to you need to hurry before it closes.

As for the ESPN I won, I finished in 15:13 and the first runner was 17:00. Disney will not reconise my win though as they do not have a crank chair class, I'm hoping that they will have one as the major races around the country do, and they always have crank chairs for the marathons so I don't know why they don't have it allready.
The corse was nice, except the first turn, you had to come back on yourself on a single track road, something my chair will not do. I kepted backing two and forth and in the end the CM there asked what he could do to help.....he ended up lifting me around the corner, if it was not for him I would have been there for a very long time and with the runners comming up fast it would not have been safe.
As I went around the next corner a CM was comming towards me in a golf buggy, when both quickly went different ways and we laughed about it at the end of the race, I don't think they expected me to get there so fast, I now I took some of the photographers by surprise....they where not ready.

I have been told that there is a large wheelchair / crank chair class in the Princess, the biggest they have ever had, so I will not be winning that one.

Man, i am jealous of you guys who can just "pop over" to WDW on the way home from a business meeting (and in Naples no less?! - My sis use to live in Naples btw - beautiful!!)
Let me tell ya, Thurs. can not come soon enough,as i sit here just like Joan (although we are states apart) under a Winter Storm watch. And it is now snowing. Today is supposed to be a nasty mix day, but tomorrow we are going to get a substancial amount of snow i hear.. Only good thing is we may get a snow day! LOL

Here is S.Florida we are under a Thunderstorm warning this afternoon. We are getting the bottom part of the "," (comma) of the stuff that is spinning around the GA and AL areas.

Can't wait, it's almost here....
