Glad I found you guys!!

I am considering registering for this. Only drawback is the dollars part. The website said you could not book a Princess 1/2 package until 6/20--and I was hardpressed to find anyone who knew what I was talking about today. Anyone have info on rooms and rates, yet? It is a bummer that it is peak season. That is what is nice about January, and, at least the Minnie was during regular season...

I plan on walking, and training almost exclusively on my treadmill.

Room rates - I called yesterday and they still aren't taking reservations with the race package rates. The guy I talked to said we should be able to book soon but didn't know when! They are keeping a callback list if you call and they say they will call you back when we are able to book rooms. I just want to get our rooms booked though and so I keep calling every so often !!

Just read through this entire thread and am getting more excited to do this!! I have asked a dear friend of mine from high school (we are 45 now!) to consider also. She lives in another state, and we don't get to see each other often.

Like # 1 Pocahantas, I too am wondering what the extra $10 for the team registration does?:confused3

Well...I went to my GP about the knee and just general joint/muscle aches that didn't respond to RICE. She heard me say that my cardiologist had doubled my Lipitor dose around the time the pains started and took me off all exercise in an effort to see if it is Lipitor causing it as well as ordering some bloodwork. Apparently (for those of you taking statins) newer studies are showing some possible links between statins and the rhabodiolisis (muscle wasting) but more frighteningly with ALS (Lou Gherig's Disease)!!

*mutters darkly* :furious:
Test results back on Monday. No exercise since Thursday (and it was a very short and painful workout due to the aches) and I still have all the aches/pains and muscle weakness. I'm desperate to get back to the gym because I want off the statins, and exercise (along with sensible eating) is supposed to be the best way to lower bad cholesteral and up the good stuff.

With a bit of luck I'll be back to the gym on Tuesday.

On the plus side, my other doc said that if I lose this last 50lbs, getting my cholesteral down to normal, and keep up the sensible eating and exercise, I should be good for finally trying for a baby by Christmas!! Whohooo!!!!! Now just to shift these stubborn pounds!!!!!!!! :lovestruc

Anyone else have husbands who frustrate you? They exercise like three times, still eat junk and lose weight like nothing else? My hubby is popping muscles all over the place getting 'ripped', losing weight and not working near as hard as I have been. *grrrr* On what parallel universe is THAT fair?!?! :headache:

In response to the earlier thread about costumes....I've already got my race gear planned.

Hot pink running skort with black bike shorts (body glide alone just doesn't do it for my thunder thighs ;).... pink technical race top with gold tone tiaras all over it.... a DisWISH visor (gotta get my lime green on somehow!!) with a tiara mounted on the visor part. Oh yeah...and some sparkles in my hair :cool1: I might mention I'm a redhead, hot pink is NOT my color...but it's Disney...and princesses wear pink!!! (according to my 5 year old niece at least).

Talk about hot to trot!

Okay...that is me checking in. I hope everyone else is going along swimmingly with their training!

Why does Disney do this? Why do they keep adding races for me to enter? Do they think I'm made of money? They know I can't resist. I've tried, believe me, I've tried. But, I keep getting sucked in.

I used to go to Disney every 3 or 4 years. I was happy with that as the Disney fix was good for a few years. But then, I started getting in better shape and participated in the 2007 WDW 1/2 marathon. First time I got a medal for anything, EVER.

After the 2007 half, I was somewhat hooked. I did the ToT the following October. Next, in 2008, I did the WDW full marathon, then a few months later, the final Minnie :( . Now, Disney adds a Princess 1/2. I swore that I could resist but then I go and open this thread and see the excited and deteremined princesses getting ready for the challenge. The call to do the INAUGURAL Princess 1/2 is getting very loud. I'm trying to risist but I'll admit - I'm getting weaker. *sigh*

Why does Disney do this to me? ;)

It's one of the 'it's not fair' part of life. Men really seem to be able to lose weight easier than women. Not fair, but we women have to deal with it!:rotfl:

Anyone hear back yet about the room rates? I am on the calling list, but if they call me in the evening or weekends, I might miss the call. (can you hear me now? - um, no - Yup I'm in a spotty area of the "great" Verizon service)

I just got a phone call a little while ago! I am booked for March 6-March 9 at ASMo!

I called the # listed at Disneysports.com which switched over to Grand Gatheringss...and they couldn't locate the info. Then, had me on hold...

Then I noticed a message on my cell phone, so I hung up, called that # and "all agents were assisting other customers" so, I did not get through. Just finished on my treadmill. I will call back after my shower and post info and the # to call.

It was $366 for 3 nights at ASMo. (I think, notes are put away right now). I'll keep that until AP rates come out to see it those are lower.

I called 1-407-WDW-IRUN. The agent was very confused because she couldn't find the package. Eventually, she transferred me to the Disney Sport agent desk.. The correct number to call is 1-407-939-7810. I haven't tried it yet, but that is what the sports agent told me.

Here is what I found out:

CBR-$174.50 a night.
Poly-$439 a night.

I am not sure how much of a discount, if any, the park admission tickets were. I asked to add Disney Dining and she said she couldn't. Also, she said she couldn't merge my existing reservation at CBR with a new one through them. Also, I asked her if the Princess Package came with any extras like you receive when you book a regular package. She said they didn't. All in all, I think they are still confused over there about the Princess package.

If anyone finds a good agent, please let me know.

Can't wait to hear what others have to say.

I called and got the same info. Room only is called a basic package and includes a couple rounds of mini golf. if you want to include tickets it is a minimum of a 2 day hopper. I didn't get the price since my AP will still be good at that time.

I think we'll be staying CBR. The booking lady didn't know what you got for signing up as a team and gave me a number to call if you have questions about registration. Of course it was at 6:30 and that office closed at 5. So, I will call back tomorrow.

I am very happy we were finally able to book rooms yesterday! I'm not sure if the rate was discounted much but I'm still very excited about it all! It will be interesting to compare the rate when they come out with 2009 rates later this year.

On our first (and only) trip to DW we stayed at the SSR so I have a feeling as nice as I've heard the Poly is, the room will seem very small!! I have a feeling we won't be in it much anyways and the monorail will be nice to have close by!

wooo hooo now to just get myself running far enough !!

Yep, just like mla1977, the rate they quoted me for
3 nights @ ASMo -- $366.12
4 nights @ ASMo -- $488.16

Definitely All Star Movies for me. Whew! That's a lot of moolah for a bed and a shower! The medal makes it all worth it, though!

Hi all! Welcome to the new joiners - i will update the list this week!
As for hotel, we are at the Poly, but we didn't bother with any discounts - We booked Garden View Concierge, so we are definately paying -- but hoping a last min. AP rae or AAA rate will help closer to the time - as that is what we did for the Minnie and the GF.

I am training very slowly to say the least.. only running/walking 2x's per week or so.. i have VOWED to beef it up starting july 1. I took a mo. off since the minnie, and i can't allow myself to drift off course!!

Well, its official! My friend Pat and I both signed up for the 1/2 today, and I paid a deposit for a room at CBR March 6-9.

I bought Marathons for Mortals and the another book by Dawn Dais--funny, but I forget the name of the book!

How is everyone's training going? I'll probably mostly train on my treadmill. I am more of a walker. I am working on a 4 MPH pace.

My training is not going well. I haven't started yet other than posting the C25K program on my kitchen door. I really need to get moving.
