Well...I went to my GP about the knee and just general joint/muscle aches that didn't respond to RICE. She heard me say that my cardiologist had doubled my Lipitor dose around the time the pains started and took me off all exercise in an effort to see if it is Lipitor causing it as well as ordering some bloodwork. Apparently (for those of you taking statins) newer studies are showing some possible links between statins and the rhabodiolisis (muscle wasting) but more frighteningly with ALS (Lou Gherig's Disease)!!
*mutters darkly*
Test results back on Monday. No exercise since Thursday (and it was a very short and painful workout due to the aches) and I still have all the aches/pains and muscle weakness. I'm desperate to get back to the gym because I want off the statins, and exercise (along with sensible eating) is supposed to be the best way to lower bad cholesteral and up the good stuff.
With a bit of luck I'll be back to the gym on Tuesday.
On the plus side, my other doc said that if I lose this last 50lbs, getting my cholesteral down to normal, and keep up the sensible eating and exercise, I should be good for finally trying for a baby by Christmas!! Whohooo!!!!! Now just to shift these stubborn pounds!!!!!!!!
Anyone else have husbands who frustrate you? They exercise like three times, still eat junk and lose weight like nothing else? My hubby is popping muscles all over the place getting 'ripped', losing weight and not working near as hard as I have been. *grrrr* On what parallel universe is THAT fair?!?!
In response to the earlier thread about costumes....I've already got my race gear planned.
Hot pink running skort with black bike shorts (body glide alone just doesn't do it for my thunder thighs

.... pink technical race top with gold tone tiaras all over it.... a DisWISH visor (gotta get my lime green on somehow!!) with a tiara mounted on the visor part. Oh yeah...and some sparkles in my hair

I might mention I'm a redhead, hot pink is NOT my color...but it's Disney...and princesses wear pink!!! (according to my 5 year old niece at least).
Talk about hot to trot!
Okay...that is me checking in. I hope everyone else is going along swimmingly with their training!
