Calling all October 25, 2012 Dream 3 day cruisers!

What is everyone doing the days or night before? We are checking into BLT on Sunday (10/21) and doing MNSSHP on Tuesday (10/23). Anyone want to do a meet and greet?

We are at the POFQ from 10/15 till 10/25. Guess we will do the MNSSHP on 10/21. But a meeting would be nice.

were probably going to get a hotel in orlando the night before and drive to port in the morning. you can find better deals and its not that far of a drive.

We changed and using our DVC points to stay at AKV Kidani and going to MNSSHP on Tuesday. We are up for meeting before the cruise at WDW or on the cruise. The drive to the port from WDW is simple and takes about 50 minutes, depending on traffic.

We will be starting the week out at Disney World too, and we are also planning for MNSSHP on Tuesday. We are totally down for a pre-cruise meet-up!

We are waiting for the Fall hotel rates to come out before we book our room, and we aren't sure where we are going to stay yet so I was hoping to get your opinions. We will be staying in one of the deluxe hotels - which one do you guys like best? This week will be our honeymoon so we want to stay somewhere amazing. I considered GF and Poly, but the more I look into them (via allears.net) the more I am second guessing them? I have heard good things about the AKL club level - any thoughts? What about the Contemporary? Any and all advice is welcome!!!!!

We live in Orlando, so have never stayed at the hotels in or near the port, but I understand there are some great deals to be had that include parking at the hotel while you cruise & a shuttle to the port!

We have never stayed concierge, but love AKV. If you are going to F/W, BCV or BWV is ideal. BCV has Stormalong Bay, which is awesome! Contemporary or Poly would be great also. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of them. We are staying either at OKW or AKV.

Ours is 10 inches wide and we have't had any problems with the width.

They can be up to five feet long - although I've never seen one even close!

As far as what to put in them - anything & everything you can think of! We've received cruise survival kits, hand made jewelry, bubbles, candy, playing cards, mini games, recipes, postcards, note pads, pens, pencils, higlighters, glow stics, gum, tea bags, home made music CDs, tote bags, small toys, arcade gift cards, alcohol... our favorites have been the gifts that are country-specific (we're from Florida!), especially the laminated recipe card we received on one cruise with bag of rice to make the recipe which was a country-specific dish. Yum!!

I know where you are coming from! We spent an entire day visiting resorts planning where to stay and have our wedding. If you are ending the week with the cruise, then you can't go wrong.

As for resorts, it really depends on your style.
My very favorite is Yacht Club. Upscale yet relaxing. Great location for Epcot.
GF is a little snooty for our taste.
Poly is very retro. It is as much about retro as polyneasian for me.
We also love, Bay Lake Tower @ Contemporary, but I am not sure that I would want to stay in the main building.
AKL....my husband doesn't really like AKL because it is so far from the action. We did club level there once, which was nice and probably the only way we would stay there again.

Overall, they all are equally nice. I think the biggest consideration is what you want in theaming. What park do you plan to visit the most? Monorail resorts have that as a plus for visiting MK. You can also watch the MK fireworks from GF, Poly and Contemp. We also have our favorite restraunts and try to minimize trekking across the world.

We are coming down on Saturday 10/20 and staying at SSR in a Tree House Villa. May be 8 people or may just be the two of us! The rest of the family is not as big on the planning, so I plan our part of the vacation and if they show up, fine! lol!
