DH did get home safely from the race - thank you for asking. Him and the rest of his gang saw a tornado when they were around Lafayette, In. He said that it was scary, but kinda cool at the same time. Thank God they are fine. He left that morning at 3am and didn't get home until 10:30pm - he was exhausted!! He didn't go on any fire calls that night.

Oh...DH just left for his softball game. I will have to let you know how bad they lose:)

Talk to you later!!!

Well all I have to say about the little "bugger" is he/she better watch out our we'll turn our fire hoses on him/her!!!

I was actually thinking about you today as I was reading the paper this morning and saw that INdiana had some tornadoes. Glad he got home okay. Do you guys have those tornado warning sirens there? I have heard of them but we don't have them here. We don't get them very often but do get warnings on t.v., etc.

Anyhow...well let us know how DH's game turned out....

Good evening everyone!!!!!

To answer your question about the tornado siren - yes our town has one. In fact.......once upon a time, this siren was used as the FD's signal to come to the station when there was a call (before the men carried pagers). After the pagers came about, the town still used this siren out of tradition - my DH was on the FD when they still did this. Within the last 5 yrs the town stopped using the siren for fire/ems calls because residents that lived close to it hated it - it is very very loud. The men on the FD were disappointed in this decision because they still depended on it if they were outside and maybe left their pager in the house - plus it was nice for us wives because if they were away from the house and got a call you would always know about it. Last Saturday a retiree died and in honor of him they blew the fire siren during his funeral - at 9am, that probably made the residents around there jump out of their skin:) . It was good to hear it again and even gave a shiver down my spine because I have lived in this town since birth and always recall hearing this siren. Now, it is just used in the threat of tornado. I have not heard it this year, but last year they sounded it 3 times.

On to the next subject:

SCRUBS WIN!! SCRUBS WIN!! SCRUBS WIN!!

DH came home last night and informed me that they won 15 to 10. That is their first win this year (they only won 2 last year). He was pretty happy about this.

Well, I'm off to throw the baby in the tub and send her off to dream land - Talk to you later!!!

WOOHOO!!! HOw did that happen!!! Wow!!! Awesome.

We still have a fire whistle here. OUrs sounds more like a fog horn while other towns have them that sound more like sirens. I used to kid my dad that it sounded like when he blew his nose!!! LOL. The guys have pagers, too. I found out also that our firehouse does have a siren...we NEVER want to hear that one, though. That one would mean there were WMD deployed!!! Geez, I can't even believe I typed that. Anyhow, it's true.

Well off to better thoughts. Work tomorrow a.m. and then 5 y.o. DD is having a playmate over after her gymnastics class.

have a great night everyone!!!:smooth:

Well Iam not sticky anymore . The kids went home but I was invaded again last night with the Wrestling team . 17 of em .

Still 3 left tonight :( Must have sleep......

We have had some bad storms these last 2 days . This morning I went to work and we had no power , we had to rent a generator to run the clinic .We didnt have any animals die ( that is a big deal for a emergency clinic :teeth: ) we are a huge clinic 12 Doctors .

Our pool had 1/2 the nieghborhood in it ! Now Dh just called and said they are on high alert. DUCK and COVER LOL

BTW we dotn want no boogie men/women on this thread ::yes:: And I think we all know who and what i am talking about .

Hey girls - DH and I got some great news last night. The people we are buying our new house from can be out in 75 days :thewave: which is really good news because they originally thought they couldn't be out until Oct/Nov.

So now we have to rush even faster to get our house ready to show and put it on the market - I have a feeling this may stress us out a little bit:crazy: . Luckily, houses in our town sell anywhere between 10-15 days and most of the time for the asking price. So, keep your fingers crossed for us.:teeth: .

Cont. from above.

Well, I'm off to bed to rest up for work tomorrow and then for dance recital pictures after work. I am not looking forward to these pictures because half of the moms are being totally clueless on how to do their DD's hair (you have to do it a certain way for the recital) and they all want me to do it for them. I tried a million times to explain it to them, but it just keeps falling on deaf ears. This hairstyle is so basic - that I just can't believe these mothers won't try to do it. So I have that to look forward to tomorrow - Anybody Jealous????????:) :) :) :) :)

If I'm not on the boards tomorrow - Take care:wave:

Hey there....I understand about the hairdo thing. My DD, Jordan-8, has been doing dance for about 5 years and just had her recital May 9th. Once I get those pics uploaded I'll have to post a few. I have to admit, this year she really looks grown up and not so little girlish. Sheesh, I hate that.

And, congrats about your house. You will be one busy bee getting that house ready!!!

Tomorrow night we're off to a "field days" in a town about 20 mins away. (which is like a carnival, etc). Except hubby is playing pushball or waterball. Have you guys heard of this? I'll try to post pics tomorrow night.

MISHELL, glad to see that you've become UNSTUCK!!! When you said DH is on "high alert" was it because of weather or terror level? I'm assuming weather..... that is what happened to DH's cousin in VA last year when they had that hurricane come through.

Anyhow....back to work for me for a more minutes. TAke care girlies and stay safe.

Hello everybody!!!!

Well, I made it on the boards tonight for just a couple of minutes. I survived the dance photos, which is a good thing. Stephanie (DD#1) looked absolutly gorgeous in her recital outfit. The outfit is light blue w/ a lot of silver sequence on the bodice and along the tull skirt. Then she has this matching bow for her hair (huge) and it really looks cute. She just absolutly loves having her picture taken, so she was in heaven today.

Today is my wedding anniversary - 9 years!!! We aren't doing anything tonight (obviously right - I'm on here) so it really doesn't feel like our anniversary. We are going out Saturday night for dinner w/o the children:), so it will feel like our anniversary then.

Well, I'm off to bed so have a good night tonight and a good day tomorrow!!! - slo:wave:

Congrats SLO on your 9 wonderful years of marriage !

Roe... Yeah it was weather related . I sometimes wonder why he really does this job  We have tornados touching down and he is out trying to save people from them ???? DUCK AND COVER

Hello everybody - how's it goin?!:wave2:

Tonight DH responded to a suicide call where somebody actually went through with the suicide:( . DH has many calls for "possible suicide" and then they take the individual to the hospital. But this was an actual suicide and it was pretty gruesome according to DH. He acts like it doesn't bother him, but I can tell that it does.
No matter how much the instructors told the guys about what they would face being EMT's, it doesn't totally sink in until you witness these things. I feel bad for him that he has to have this image in his head forever, but there's really nothing I can do. We talked about it and he knows that I am always here to listen if he has anything else to discuss. God love these guys for what they do!!!!!!!

Onto another subject - the "for sale" sign was put on the front lawn tonight. Now moving has really turned into a reality:( :) . This makes me sad to go, but happy for change. I'll keep you all posted on how everything goes.

Well, I think I am going to go to bed now. I have alot planned for tomorrow - Take care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about your Dh going through that SLO . My DH worked a hanging victim today also :( She was a elderly person who had been there at least 3-4 days . Nobody knew she was dead untill the smell came . I know it is hard on the guys but they always pretend it does not bother them .

So now on to happy stuff ..

What is everyone doing this weekend ?

My DH has not experienced a 3-4 day old dead body yet - this has got to be terrible - I could not imagine that smell:( . This man my husband saw had just commited the suicide about 2 hrs. before his wife found him. I just could not imagine finding my DH like this - I guess she was just hysterical and rightfully so:( . My thoughts are with her.

Exactly like you said earlier - lets go on to a more happy subject.:) Last night we went out for our anniversary to this really nice restaurant in town. I never thought to go to this place and it was really great. They had a gentleman there that made pasta right in front of you however you wanted it. I had bow tie pasta w/ garlic (and a lot of it - it was fresh) w/ tomatoes and alfredo sauce. Then he put a ton of shredded parmesan cheese on it - OMG it was to die for:tongue: . Then the waiter brought meat out of swords - just like at 'Ohanas at the Poly. YUMMY!!!! . We left there so full that I had to unbutton my pants when we got into the car:eek: :) .

Today, I have to get to work getting the house ready to show in a couple of days. I don't have that much to do - but enough to keep me busy. It's going to be a nice day, so I'm hoping we will find enough time to go into the pool for awhile.:sunny:

Well, I hope you all have a nice weekend - now I have to go and return to my labors around the house;) . Talk to ya all later:wave:

Well I have my house all clean so the maid can come on Tuesday and not think we are pigs :(

Now all I have to do is go to the big grocery store . Central Market I LOVE this place. It has tons of gourmet food . It is a treat to go there for a foodie such as myself.

Did I ever mention I am trying to go to Culinary school ???

BTW what does everyone do here? I know we have a couple of Stay at home Moms. But what does everyone else do ?

I am on the mangement staff of the largest specialty animal hospital in North Texas . We even do Cancer treatments , we have Doctors and are a 24 hour emergency clinic . That means I do everything LOL I vet tech when needed, groom pets, manage the kennel ( something only I am being punished with LOL) We can house over 200 pets .

Wow, that is great that you are going to Culinary school. You will have to keep us posted on your progress. I was going back to school to get my teaching license, but then Kate was born and that came to a screeching hault (but that is okay, I knew it would when we decided to have a second child). Hopefully I will be able to pick it back up again someday.

Currently, I do have a marketing/mgmt degree and I manage a custom picture framing store of which I started working at when I was 16 yrs old. I have been there now for almost 17 years. I love my job!!! I make my own hours and I work M-F 9am-4pm unless the daycare calls me and I have to leave early, which does happen alot. I love the people I work for and I feel as if I am a part of their family. The family I work for has seen me go through so many phases of my life: graduate highschool, graduate college, get engaged and married, having 2 children and buying 2 houses. I have enjoyed every minute of my job!!!!

Onto the FD. Today DH & FD was called to assist another town w/ their ambulance because a man had a heart attack while driving his SUV and slammed into and through a restaurant. This was at 1:30pm - prime lunch time - and there were many many injuries and one fatality. DH said it was terrible. Could you imagine being that driver. DH said the driver wasn't conscious and he wasn't in good shape. I feel bad for the victims, but also for the driver. He didn't expect this to happen and he is going to feel so bad when he realizes what has happened - I just can't imagine the guilt this poor man is going to feel.:(

Oh.......Mad4Mickey I had to laugh when I read you had to clean for the cleaning lady:hyper: . My girlfriend does this also and I thought she was the only one - I will have to tell her you clean for the cleaning lady too.

Well, I am off to bed to get ready for tomorrow. Mondays at the store are always a headache trying to make heads or tails out of the orders the staff took over the weekend. So, I will talk to you all later:wave:

Happy Monday everyone - if there is such a thing:)

Hope everybody is doing well.

OK so I just read my last post and of course I we have Doctors LOL what I ment was we have 12 Doctors ( that is a ton of Vets)

Well Slo and Mad4Mickey...you two have been busy posters....

I was at camp this weekend and had a parade and played pushball for the auxiliary of the FD this weekend. We won 1st place. I don't happen to have digitals of US but I do of DH. (they didn't so so well:( )

Slo, how is hubby doing after going to that suicide call. I'm sure it's still bothering him alot. How's the house sprucing coming?

Mad....I think it's hysterical that you clean for your cleaning lady. If we had one, I'm sure DH would do the same thing. He is a little anal retentive and even makes the bed when he stays in a hotel....WHY????

Anyhooo.....as far as what I do for a living...I work at home on my computer as a medical transcriptionist. I work for a hospital that has hundred's of doctors. The good thing is I never have to leave my house to work. (Usually just brush the teeth and go to work in my jammies.....although I have been embarrased by my appearance if the UPS/FED ex guy, etc., shows up when I'm working, ) I basically have a special phone called a Dictaphone and dial into their system and listen to the doctors on my headphones. My phone has a special pedal to let me reverse, stop and forward their dictations. I type it into my computer and then when my shift is done I send it to them by modem. I've been working for this hospital for about 3 years but have done this for about 7 years. I work about 32 hours per week (or more) and probably will go full time this September when Jaylin is in kindergarten.

Speaking of Kindergarten...do you gals have all-day kindergarten where you live? My older DD has gone to Catholic school (until next year we're sending her to public...It's just too expensive) and the younger one will go the Catholic school just for kindergarten because they have all day K there. (Not in public school). I guess I'm just curious.

Nothing too much fire related going on here...which is usually a good thing. DH is at a meeting tonight at his secone home...the FD of course.

HOpe you all are doing well.
