Oh, I also forgot to ask you Mad...Since you work for a vet office...do you have alot of pets? You know like strays or animals others did want? Just wondering.

well I used to have a a ton . Example I am down to
1 horse ( I did have 7 at high count)
1 Dog ( had up to 5 at one time )
1 cat ( had 3 at one time)

The animals all got old and died , even the remaining 3 are rescue pets. It is hard not to take them all home. There is a parrot at work and it really needs a good home THANK THE LORD Iam afraid of birds .

That's what I figured...I knew you would have had a LOT of animals. MY 5 y.o. would love a dog but my DH says no way. (we had one when 8 y.o. was a baby and he was HYPER...even tried the obedience school thing...nope, didn't work. We would open the front door to let company in and he would RUN!!! We do have a big BACK yard but he wanted FREEDOM!!! He then tried to bite me when I tried to get him in the basement because we couldn't leave him in the house when went out and he bit me. DD was a baby so we were afraid for her and ended up giving him to Humane Society and he was adopted the next day. (I ended up crying hysterically giving him up). Anyhow, the only pet we have now is a gerbil named Snowball. That is 5 y.o. dd's and is in her room.

Happy Tuesday, Gals!

Just talked to DH. He is currently working at the store but had to make a food delivery to the STate Chief's Convention here in NY (it is at our STate Fair about 5 mins away). The crazy wacko is getting out of work early to go into some sort of fire simulator that not alot of people get to go into because he talked to "the guy in charge" who was happy with the food, etc.

Who else do you know who would WANT to go into a burning simulator like that.....crazy if you ask me.

Anyhow, what is everyone else up to?

As for being scared of the birds I was scared of them before I ever saw the movie . When I did see the movie it just confirmed my thoughts about them . THEY are out to get us !! LOL

Hello Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted on the Dis . What a busy, busy, busy week over here in Indiana. We have been getting our house ready to show and we are almost done - our first day showing is tomorrow and we already have 3 showings schedule - hopefully one is a buyer. Getting the house ready has been a lot of work - we've put many things in storage in a storage garage and at my moms (God Bless her!!). We took DD's to the new house so Stephanie (5yr old) could see where she is going to live, and she seemed to really like it .

Other things this past week:
Tuesday - Scrubs lost 10-8
Wednesday - Went to the new house
Thursday - Dress rehearsal for dance recital
Friday - Stephanies graduation from daycare
Saturday - Dance recital (it went great) & graduation party
Sunday (today) - making finishing touches on the house.
All week - being glued to the TV watching President Regans memorials and funeral (did this whenever possible)

After all this business - it's nice to come on the Dis and talk to you guys .

To anwer your couple questions Roemama:
Kevin hasn't talked about the suicide for quite awhile so as he said, "I will just supress it in the back of my mind with all the other things I've seen" . Everytime I think of him saying that I feel sad that he has all these negative/sad images in his head - but he enjoys helping others and God Bless him for that. Thank you for asking!!!!!!
The other topic is all day kindergarten - yes Stephanie is going to all day kindergarten and it is at a Catholic school. The school system where we live doesn't have an all day kindergarten, but the next town over does and it is very sucessful. I can't understand why our school system doesn't install an all day kindergarten , if they did so many people would love to have it. After kindergarten, Stephanie is more than likely going to stay in private school unless I/we/she don't like it there and then we will switch to public. We are totally playing this school year by ear.

Well, I better get a move on - I have a lot to do today. I would much rather be sitting by the pool . Wish us luck on showing the house. We are hoping for a quick buyer so we don't have to keep the house perfect for tons of showings and then we can sit by the pool .

We had a typical firefighters wives night last night. We went to a Stag and Doe for the one and only female on our department and her fiance last night. About an hour into it after all the fire department couples had arrived, guess what? Yep, you guessed it they got a call, just a medical assist so it wasn't long. But, it was hilarious watching the guys all race out of the hall as we waved after them. We were all on the one side of the hall, you know how they all stick together, and the ones on the other side of the hall, were standing there shocked!! It was quite funny. Of course they played 2 slow songs right then and us wives just threw up our hands and laughed with each other !! I just had to post this cause I knew that all of you ladies would understand. It was a lot of fun and we all got to dance with our hubbies about an hour later when they came back (the baby was fine - febrile seizure just FYI). Just thought you would get a laugh out of our night. Have a great week!!

Well girls....I'm BAAAAAAAACKKK! Was at camp this weekend. Had a great time. Had a graduation party for a son of one of our chiefs so was driving back/forth to camp. Then Jaylin (the 5 y.o.) had a gymnastic award ceremony. Although she LOvES gymnastics she doesn't like ATTENTION (that is why she doesn't want to take dance anymore-she did it when she was 3 but that was enough for her) and didn't know that SO MANY PEOPLE would be there. She would'nt even go with her class until the very last event and then FINALLY did it. I was getting so frustrated because we came in from camp for her to go. She got a trophy and was thrilled.

I would love to post these pics but whenever I try (like in my sig.) they are too big for the site and I'm not sure how to change the size. Bummer.

Sounds like Slo has been B-U-S-Y!!! What a week, huh? I bet your DD was adorable in the dance recital and graduation. My older DD is going to Catholic school this current year (2nd grade) but is switching to public next year. Younger DD is going to go to Kindergarten at Catholic school and then switch to public in 1st grade. We switched because it was just getting TOO expensive and we didn't see a real "advantage" to being at that school to justify the money being spent. (it would have been over $5,000 for both girls to go there for a year, YUK!)

Anyhow...how did the house selling go? Any bites yet?

Lezah...welcome...come on in and glad you joined us. Yes, we DO understand totally!!! It seems at our house the fire pager is psychic because it knows when dinner is ready! (like clockwork, usually it goes off when supper is on the table. Drives me nuts.) Thanks for sharing your story...we ALL can relate!!! Stop back often. We'd love to chat.

Well all. I'm off to send my work. TTYL!!! Of, I almost forgot...DH (after coming back from golf) said I was supposed to run a truck class tonight at the f-house but got home late golfing. They can't continue the class right now because of the thunderstorm so I'll just go up there for a FEW MINUTES and let them know to stop the class. (WE all know how long FIREHOUSE minutes are right??? I know we talked about this before) 2 hours later......
Still not home. Well, he's just lucky his B-day is tomorrow.

Well, life has been busy again.
Monday - first day showing our house and it was madness around here. I came home at 8pm after leaving at 8am and we still had people looking at the house. I then had Realitors here until 10pm presenting offers.
Tuesday - showed house again and again didn't come home until 8pm. Katie was not appreciating this at all!!!!!(the 10month old). We accepted an offer (one from Monday) and our house is sold. We sold our house in 24 hours.

It really is funny watching the DH's scramble when they are together and their pagers go off . One time when we were at a graduation party for a Fireman DD the pagers went off, and watching the guys pile into as few cars as possible was like watching clowns in a circus - you know the ones were 50 clowns come out of a tiny car - that was these guys .

Roe - tell your DH . I hope he has a good day!!!

Well, I'm off to bed. I'm taking the girls to get their picture taken tomorrow at Sears - that is always an adventure!!!! See you later

Hey girls , I just got back in town from Regionals ( Wrestling of course) We drove all 8 hours from Kansas because my DS didnt wanna be there anymore.
He took the loss hard I told him " Baby we cant win all the time" 4th place gets no medals in Regionals. He is only 15 and is hard on himself. We are still going to Nationals for 10 days in Fargo ND . ANYONE know what I can do up there ?????

Well it is after 1 am so I better finish catching up and get some sleep

Sounds like the house situation is looking up! Wow, 24 hours...that is FAST!!!!

Mishell....I'm sorry about your son. HOpe he doesn't get too discouraged.

I thought it would be cool to post pics of what we look since I just figured out how to do it so we could put a face to the name, etc. (My pic isn't the greatest pic of me....it was taken in Feb. on Minnie's sunporch in Toontown. I wanted DH to take it of me with all the background, etc. so you could see all the cool stuff but he zoomed in instead. ) Sheesh...well here goes nothing.

I'm sorry to hear of your son's frustration - I hope things go better for him in Fargo - and unfortunatly I have never been to Fargo to know what to do there. Tell your son GOOD LUCK!!!!!
