This is going to be a pretty fast post today, because I have to get Stephanie to the hospital by 6:30am. She is having her surgery this morning, so today is going to be a long day (that's me being tired).

Even though this surgery should be a piece of cake, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, because she is still going under anestesia (sp?), and there is always a chance something could go wrong. I'm sure she'll be perfectly fine though.

Thank you Karen for asking about Stephanie I am happy to say that everything went very smooth, and she is back to her old self. She had a hard time getting over the anestesia (sp?), and was very dizzy for quite some time, but that went away by evening. I'll tell her that you asked about her


What are doing this weekend?
Tonight I'm going to a DISers house for a Tastefully Simple party, and I'm really excited about it. She's become a good friend of mine, and Stephanie and her DD enjoy spending time together too. I'll be a fun night!!!!
Then tomorrow the girls and I are going shopping with my mom for Stephanie's first communion dress. I can't believe she's having her first communion soon Where does the time go - she was just born!!!!! So that'll be a nice day too


Well, I gotta run and jump in the shower - I gotta work today!!

Sandy - We don't have big plans this weekend. Jim is home which makes it new & different! He is going to cook ribs on the grill today.

I am so glad everything went well with Steph.

Both of my girls dresses came from Strausburg Children and I still have them. We got their veils from the Visitation Monastery here in town. Do ya'll do veils or flowers? Please let me know as the day gets closer - I would love to send her a card!

I am going to weigh babies this weekend for their dose next week. I didn't want to do it, but several people couldn't work so I am helping out. Of course, there will be some extra $$ in it - for my trip!!!

Emily & I have a lunch meeting at Olive Garden with her friend & her mom to work on plans for the big combo 13th birthday party. We have to finalize a budget and get to planning.

What's everyone doing today?

The girls and I are picking up my mom in a couple of hours, and we are going out to breakfast, and then going shopping for Stephanie's First Communion dress It should be a good, fun day!!!

I noticed the smilies are in different places - I hate it when that happens. It makes my posting time longer, because I don't know where anything is at.


Karen - That's a great idea for a combo birthday party ) I bet the girls will have a blast, and it will make some awesome memories for both of them I hope you had a nice lunch, while planning the event

Yesterday was a very successful shopping day - we came home with a First Communion dress!!! It was really weird seeing Stephanie trying these dresses on - she just shouldn't be old enough to be having her First Communion. I feel like I just Baptized her, and now she's having her First Communion. I'm going to have a hard time not crying on April 26th - she's growing so fast !!!!!



I guess it's time to get ready and start this week - I'm not ready for the weekend to be over - it went by way to fast!!!!

Well, we are under severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado watches today. It will be 70 degrees today, but after the weather blows thru it will drop to 32!!!


I am getting going on the plan. We know we have P & P party on the 16th and I think that day we will do a water park. Our first day we will probably do AK. That's it so far!!

Good morning! Sorry I didn't stop in yesterday! J & E had their state writing assessments, so we were making sure everyone had a good breakfast and all the right supplies!

It's chilly here this am - 32. It will probably be in the 50's this afternoon. They are expecting temps back to the 70s this weekend. The cold never lasts around here!

My allergies are really bugging me - James too! I guess we'll get back on the Zyrtec!

It's so nice to know that I have 2 days w/o rushing to get everyone out of the house

Karen - I love my Zyrtec so much!!!! I take it year round If I skip a couple of days, I end up with the worst headache ever We live right next to a forest, and there has to be something in that forest that I'm allergic to, because before we lived here, I never had this problem

Good Morning!!

The weather blew through late last night, but wasn't too bad for us. It's back to the grind today!

slo - I put a link to your thread on another last night (that was my big achievement for the evening) I hope you don't mind! It was a thread about Reedy Creek FD and visiting. Maybe there will be some new visitors!

We are pretty pumped about the trip! I've started working on the day to day plan. I'm still working on P&P costumes! I ordered some tshirts from the Disney outlet site. I got matching ones for Emi & her friend Lila. Lila doesn't know - we are going to make her a small first trip to Disney goody bag! We are thinking about the shirts, a lanyard, some pins and a small autograph book with a retractable Sharpie (I read that the characters like those).
Any other ideas?

It worked!!

Hello everyone!! I grew up in a firefighter family. My Dad was a firefighter for years before I was even born. He's 72 now and still does the "fire thing". Of course he's not actually doing any fire fighting these days, more of a support role.

DH is now a firefighter too. For years I've resisted letting him join. I guess I just didn't want to deal with it all again. So about 5 years ago we moved to a nice, small, quiet town. He said maybe I should join the fire department here it seems quiet. So last March I let him join. And boy did he!!

As it turns out the fire company had just become first responders as well going to ALL rescue calls as well as fire calls. And of course DH (being a former Marine and a boat lover) had to join the Dive Rescue team!!

He just started fire school in January and is gone 2 nights a week every week till June. With Dance for our DDs and Boy Scouts for DS (of which DH is the Scout leader) and meetings and drills and dive drills (not to mention actual calls)....Life is crazy!!!

But I am super proud of him. He was an EMT for awhile back where we used to live so the craziness isn't really new...just a bit crazier!! He really loves it.
I always tell him it's because he has a hero complex He agrees.
He is very good at it all though and is already an valued member of the
department.
