Well I guess it's back to the grind! Our weather is still good here. It will probably rain tomorrow, though.

sandy - I hope Spring Break works out! I already asked for the time off before I thought of this plan.

Way to go Stephanie!!!:thumbsup2 I am glad the piercing went well! That restaurant sounds really cool! I think it is really cute that you have a desiganted sheet changing day! I really should be more like you around the house!!!!:thumbsup2

Have a great Monday!

:surfweb:

Stephanie had her ENT appt last night, and he agreeded with our Pediatrician that Stephanie's tube needs to be surgically removed:) . I was so happy that he said that, because she's so tired of her ear draining, and taking this tube out should stop that (fingers crossed). We scheduled the surgery for next Friday - the 22nd :thumbsup2

Karen - I'll show your post to Stephanie, it will make her do this :teeth:
**I've found that I need to have designated days for things or time gets away from me, and then it doesn't get done for weeks:rolleyes: Tomorrow is the official "clean the bathroom day" I don't like that one :sad2:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work
We have to leave a little earlier today so we can do some errands
Have a good day today everyone!!

Good Morning All!

Well it looks like our trip to the World over Spring Break will be a go!!! :goodvibes

I made about half the money working extra this weekend and I hope to get another weekend like it in March. Our neighbors had invited us to stay at Shades of Green last year & I said we weren't going to be able to go. Then a friend I went to nursing school with called a few weeks ago and asked the same!! That's when the idea took root!! She is able to book at SOG also and called yesterday & they had openings!! We stayed there once when JIm was still in the reserves & the rooms are pretty big and nice. It looks like we will all be there together. I am kind of leery of this because travelling with your own family can be stressful, so I imagine other familes can make it more so!! I think we will all have to be very clear about our goals and plans. I don't really want to be attached at the hip to anyone. Any suggestions?:confused3

:surfweb:
Why are some days so hard to get up and motivated???

Karen - That's awesome about Spring Break  and I can understand your concern about not being attached to your friends hip (I would be that way too!!!! ::yes::) If it were me, I would probably have both myself and the friend make an itinerary (seperately) on what we wanted to do. Then after comparing them, you can do the same things listed together, and anything that's different, plan those events on different days. This way everyone does what they want to do. I know this may be easier said than done - good luck:wizard:

Well, I gotta run - today is the official bathroom cleaning day
Have a good day eveyrone!!!

Hi all...just joining this thread. My DS(18) a Sr. this year is a VFF. It's in the blood. My GF was a FF way back when, my Dad is a fire protection engineer.

My son just signed with ARNG, he ships in Sept., going 68W(EMT). He wants to be a FF/EMT. He will be gone 27 weeks and then come home for 2 years of college, planning on doing fire training of some sort.

I am so proud of him. He leaves school everyday and goes straight to the station and spends most of the weekend there. Thank God he doesn't have a radio or pager just yet.

Looking forward to talking with y'all.
Tara

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Is anyone doing anything today or tonight?
We aren't :sad2:
But that's fine, we never do - the restaurants are way to crowded.
Plus.....this is my night to work until 7, so it'll be way to late to go anywhere.
That's okay - I don't mind at all:)

Yea:yay: !!!! We have someone new to join us!!!!! :goodvibes
Your son sounds like a wonderful young man!!!!
I would very proud of him too!!!:goodvibes
Please come by often and visit with us - you don't have to be a firedept wife to post here. We would love to get to know you!!!! :)

Karen - :wave2:

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Happy Valentines Day!! :lovestruc

Sandy - we aren't going anywhere. The kids got stuff to take to school and I bought kid valentines & candy to take to work (cuz I'm a big ol loser!)! :rotfl:

mselly - welcome!!! Come often!!

It's cold here today - 29 degrees! Ok I know it's not as cold as the rest of the country, but for us it's a pretty nippy am! Of course it will warm up to the 60's - so no coats or such! Just a jacket!

I am so excited!! It turns out that there will be a P&P party during our spring break trip!! I am happy because I really wanted to do the Christmas party but htere wasn't one during our last visit! This trip is keeping me sane right now - work has been awful this week and whenever I get discouraged, I think about MIckey. I also need to check the Braves spring trainig schedule to see if they play while we are there.

Happy Friday everyone! I am so ready for this week to be over! Of course, I'm on call this weekend! :sad1: I asked another nurse if she wanted my wekend (she missed a day this week) and she was asking her hubby. She'll let me know today. We'll see. It would be nice to just relax all weekend, but it won't be awful if I have to work.

I started a thread about SOG - looking for info since the search function won't work forme and wonderful Disers sent me the links. I am pleased with what I read/see. It's been 13 years since we were there. The rooms are big which will be great!

sandy - so how are the new earrings going? I seem to remember doing daily cleanings and such (it's been awhile)!

Katie is still not well - she just can't shake this thing. She doesn't eat much, she still has a fever, she gets tired very easily - I'm starting to wonder if she has some type of flu. Needless to say, she is going to work with me again today - I don't want her going to daycare when she's not 100% :sad2:
All I know, that if I don't get what she's got, it's a miracle!!! Last night I was smearing some Vick on her chest (she has some congestion), and all of a sudden she coughs right in my face:rolleyes: I could have gotten annoyed, but she's sick, and she just needs mommas love, not annoyance. So I have a feeling this sickness will be a "to be continued...."

Today Stephanie is off school, because she has winter break:woohoo: It's so nice to not have to deal with the aggravation of getting her on the bus today. She's also coming to work with me, but then my mom is going to come get her at around lunch time.

Today Kevin is leaving for Florida until Wednesday. He, his dad, and his 2 friends are going to The Daytona 500 on Sunday. So while we are digging ourselves out of the snow, again, he'll be soaking up the sun - lucky duck!!!!

Karen - I'm sorry work had been awful  I hope that other lady can work, so you can stay home and destress this weekend.
**the new earrings are doing well, and yes we have to clean them once to twice a day with Dial antibacterial soap - it's such a pain in the rump. The earrings get to come out on Easter, and that's when the cleanings get to stop too:woohoo:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

:surfweb:

I'm so tired this morning, and not in the mood to go to work
The girls are going to be with me all day, because Kevin is in Flordia, which is fine, but I sometimes I don't get as much work done when the are with. Plus, Katie is still not 100%, which is a bummer, but I do think she is slightly on the mend - we'll see how today is.

Have a good day!!

Good Morning all!

Hi Sandy! How did it go at work yesterday? Is Katie all better? I hope so!

We have a new family member as of Friday night. pug: Her name is pPrincess Phiona or Fifi for short and she is an English bulldog. Jim, having been a Marine loves these dogs and we had one for years (Gunny), but he died as all animals do eventually. We never got another one because they cosy $1200 - $1500 per puppy! :scared1:  Well, out of the blue one of Jim's friends called Friday night and asked if we wanted thiers. How could we say no? She is 1 and a half and has not been spayed, so if we wanted to breed her we can. She has been really sweet and well mannered so far. Today we will start the introductions to the other dogs and hope for the best. Harley & Hannah live outside and we plan for Fifi to be inside most of the time since she is smaller. Jim hasn't bonded with her yet. He was at the station Friday and Saturday (all day) so he hasn't been around her. She is rather attached to me as I am the alpha female around here and she plays with James alot. Emily isn't very interested in her.

I am going to start trip planning today. It looks like we are going to commit to SoG. We were waiting to see if mom got a killer AP rate at the values, but they aren't out yet. If we stay at SoG, I have told Emily she can invite a friend. She will get a big kick out of that.

Wow, I'm really long winded this am!!

Talk to ya'll later!

Wow, Katie and I just woke up - that's late for us!!!!! :teeth:

Katie is still not 100%, but I do think she is getting better.
I didn't give her any Motrin yesterday, so that's good (I do think she had a very low grade fever still, in the afternoon, but I thought it would be good for her body to have that fever help fight its battle). I started giving her Musinex for kids, and that seems to help her cough be a lot more productive, and I also started putting saline spray in her nose - she said that helps too. I also bought a new warm air vaporizor for her, and put that next to her bed all last night, and I think that really really helped her. She slept alot more peacefully, and she woke up more happy this morning. So, hopefully today will be a better day for her (fingers crossed).

I just talked to Kevin, and he is having a good time in Florida. He called from the race track, and he said that it was 82 and sunny :sunny: He sounds a little homesick though, and we miss him too:guilty: He doesn't come home until Wednesday.

The girls and I are just chilling out all day today, and we did last night too. We rented a ton of movies that we are going to watch. Last night we watched Hairspray, and I LOVED IT!!!!! I told Stephanie that we may have to buy that movie :scratchin. Today we are watching Jump In, with Corbin Bleu, because we have never seen that movie all the way through. I also bought Rataullie (sp?) and we'll watch that today too - we are going to be official bums today :teeth:

Karen - Congrats on the new puppy!!!!! :dog: I'm sure she'll fit into your family perfectly:goodvibes
*Have fun starting to plan your trip:banana: Kevin is finalizing our date while he is gone, and then I can start planning too :woohoo: We are going to be gone the last week of October, and we'll be staying at my in-laws time share (it's going to only cost us $149 for the whole week:thumbsup2 ). We are really looking forward to it!!!
*So, what are you planning on doing this trip? Any thoughts yet????

Well, I better get running and start breakfast
I'm making the girls and I pancakes :goodvibes
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

Ugh!!!! Monday morning again!!!

You took the words right out of my mouth :upsidedow

We were so lazy yesterday, that I'm almost embarrassed.
We got up late, and then I made some pancakes :goodvibes
We took our showers, and got into some comfy clothes
We then sat and watched TV all day:happytv:
We watched the movie Jump In (Disney Channel movie that we rented)
Then we watched Toy Story 2
After that we watched Are We There Yet (very funny)
And between that we watched regular TV
It was great to have a day to chill out!!!!! :goodvibes

Today Stephanie has the day off of school, so she is spending the day with my mom. Katie is doing much better, so she is off to daycare today (let's hope she doesn't get anything else - fingers crossed).

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Yawn.......

Stephanie woke up last night heavily complaining of a stomachache. So I sat up with her for awhile, and then eventually gave her a bucket, and told her to try and sleep. She did go back to sleep, but I didn't sleep well again, because I was waiting for her to get back up. So now I"m not sure what to do with her. Do I send her to school, or do I keep her home? I hate to keep her home when nothing happened, but I hate to send her to school and have her get sick in front of her friends - how embarrassing!!!! What to do, what to do?!?!?!

Well, I"m off and running!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!!

sandy - so what did you do? Emily just came & told me she isn't feeling well, so I sent her back to bed. I'll have to call my boss and see how the day looks to see if I can stay home all day. Probably not, but maybe I can come home at lunchtime. Emily will probably sleep until then. Jim will be home after I leave with James until it warms up enough for him to go do yards.

We (and by we I mean my mom) ordered our tix for the P & P party!!! princess: pirate: party: The kids have both said they want to dress up, so now I will start searching for inexpensive costumes.

Have a great day!!!

Kevin comes home today!!!!
It'll be good to have him home!!!
He will have a rude awakening though. It's been 80's in Florida, and it's going to be a HUGE HIGH of 9 today   Yep...he's gonna freeze!!!! :upsidedow

Stephanie woke up yesterday morning, and said her stomach didn't hurt as much. So she ate a PopTart, and then said her stomach hurt again  She didn't ask to stay home, and I didn't offer, so off she went. She made it through school okay :thumbsup2 I was so nervous about her being sick, because she has her surgery Friday, and I didn't want to reschedule.

Karen - How is Emily feeling today? I sure hope she's better :wizard:
**I can hardly wait to hear about how you like the pirate: and princess: party. How fun!!!! :cool1:

Well, I gotta get going - it's bathroom cleaning day this morning
Have a good day!!!

Kevin made it home okay yesterday, and it's good to have him home :goodvibes
He came home with many goodies for all of us, one being my favorite rice krispie treat from The Candy Cauldron in DTD:goodvibes He also brought home some caramel apples from there, and I can hardly wait to try one after dinner tonight:goodvibes

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

sandy - I'm glad Kevin made it home safely! Those sound like yummy treats! We are very excited - Mom found round trip tix for us to fly to WDW!! The tix were only $76 round trip (including all fees & Taxes) so we couldn't resist. J & E have never flown, so it will be an event. I have been trying to find a Princess Giselle dress for Emily for the P & P Party. Not an easy task!

The new dog is doing well. We've socialized her some with Hannah and will continue to work on it each day. It didn't go well with Harley the first meeting, so we will have to start anew this weekend.
