Emily's birthday party went wonderfully! We had about 34 kids there! It was loud, but fun! None of the kids wanted to go when their parents came so I guess that means it was a good party!![]()
So how goes the great raccoon hunt?
Our spring break is later this month. The kids are looking forward to it.
Well, have a super day!
We have a new trap on the house and Kevin borrowed or neighbors raccoon trap and put it into the attic. I sure hope we catch these buggers so we can repair the hole and get this over with. By the time this is all over, this is going to cost us around a $1000.00

I just came across this thread and I too am a wife of my VFF husband. He's been on our department for 8 years and works full time at US Steel in NW Indiana (swing shift). I couldn't be more proud of what he can accomplish. For our family, when he's on a fire call, WE are on the fire call too. We get food from the local restaurants, drinks and whatever they need ot help them through a structure fire. DH is also a first responder, so there is constant activity with accidents, mishaps, illness, etc...He just wishes that he were home a little more often to be able to "make the next run". In addition to his full time job, he attends school. It doesn't leave a lot of free time.
March of 1999 they were on their way to a fire and DH was the passenger in their tanker truck full of water. Even with the baffling system in place, the water shifted as they went through an intersection and the tanker flipped. Talk about scared!!!!! Both men were fine...shook up tremendously and had to go to the hospital, but ALIVE!! Things could have been different though. Someone was watching out everyone that day! Thy've replaced the tanker with a new one and it's hubby's favorite.
Slo- sorry to hear about the raccoon troubles! I've just started reading some of threads when I realized that you are somewhere near NW Indiana and it caught my attention. We have at least a few things in common!
Everyone have a great day...thanks for lettting me share......

because I thought it was 120 days and June 1st was the day to call for the CRT (Kevin and I always double team it by calling on 2 phones starting at 5:58am). So I started counting back in the calendar and I'm getting closer and closer to April 4th and then I surpassed it to April 1st - April Fools Day was the day I was suppossed to call
So I called and the CM asked me, "what time do you want?" I said, "what time is available?" He said, "what time do you want." I said, what's ever's left." So he started reading every single time left, which was basically all of them - poor guy!!! I told him that I've been getting into the castle since it was 60 days out and I took whatever was given to me, I didn't have a choice, then he understood why I was slow in giving him a time. So, I told him 8:30am and he said, "no problem" - I love how you can now make ADR's 180 days out, makes things so much less stressful for me. You do have to still prepay and the CRT is costing us $108.00 this year
But that's okay, I'm paying for the memories, not the food
I called Kevin and left a message on his voice mail that said, "WE GOT FREE DINING!!!!" and then I hung up. He called me back and was very excited too. This year was definitly going to be more for food since we have to pay for Katie.
I don't know how good she's going to be, but who cares, she's having fun!!!!
Poor Katie didn't understand that she couldn't go with and to watch from afar. She would sometimes run toward the team practicing and then when I would grab her and take her back to where we were sitting she would start to cry, "SISSY!!!!!" The girls are very close and Katie feels that she is joined to Stephanie's hip. Oh well, she'll learn eventually that she can't always be with her.
. Oh well, hopefully this saga will soon be over!!!!
You were in need of some serious
after last month! Now you can spend time deciding where you want to eat! I'm glad to hear that your raccoon saga is coming to a close! Dot (Emily's kitten) is finally perking up after her spay/declaw on Tuesday!
