Idroveallnight - how was Emily's b-day party last night??

This is a short post today because I have to get ready for the pest guys to come out this morning. There's a raccoon now in our second attic - I'm getting really tired of this!!!! :furious:

Hello Slo--thank you for the birthday wishes. you are very talented and very thoughtful--what a great combination! Grannywishes

Your welcome!!!

You are the mom of this thread :grouphug: - always giving us comforting words and great advice when something bad or sad happens. I'm really glad you come by and visit with us sometimes.

Good Monday morning everyone!!!! :surfweb:

It's dark out again when I wake up - what a bummer!!!

Stephanie goes back to school today after a week off for spring break. She's not looking forward to it, and neither am I. It was so nice to have a week off without homework and rushing around at night. Oh well, a couple more months and then school's out for summer :sunny: . Then in August I will probably be excited about school starting again  .

Well, I better go jump into the shower - have a good day everyone!!!

It just feels soooooo early! This has got to be the worst Monday of the year! Tell me again why we have Daylight savings? LOL :hourglass

Emily's birthday party went wonderfully! We had about 34 kids there! It was loud, but fun! None of the kids wanted to go when their parents came so I guess that means it was a good party! party:
So how goes the great raccoon hunt?
Our spring break is later this month. The kids are looking forward to it.

Well, have a super day!

I'm so glad that Emily's birthday was a success :cool1:

The raccoon hunt is still ongoing  We have a new trap on the house and Kevin borrowed or neighbors raccoon trap and put it into the attic. I sure hope we catch these buggers so we can repair the hole and get this over with. By the time this is all over, this is going to cost us around a $1000.00

Have a good day - talk to you later!!!

Hi Slo (and everyone else)

I just came across this thread and I too am a wife of my VFF husband. He's been on our department for 8 years and works full time at US Steel in NW Indiana (swing shift). I couldn't be more proud of what he can accomplish. For our family, when he's on a fire call, WE are on the fire call too. We get food from the local restaurants, drinks and whatever they need ot help them through a structure fire. DH is also a first responder, so there is constant activity with accidents, mishaps, illness, etc...He just wishes that he were home a little more often to be able to "make the next run". In addition to his full time job, he attends school. It doesn't leave a lot of free time.

March of 1999 they were on their way to a fire and DH was the passenger in their tanker truck full of water. Even with the baffling system in place, the water shifted as they went through an intersection and the tanker flipped. Talk about scared!!!!! Both men were fine...shook up tremendously and had to go to the hospital, but ALIVE!! Things could have been different though. Someone was watching out everyone that day! Thy've replaced the tanker with a new one and it's hubby's favorite.

Slo- sorry to hear about the raccoon troubles! I've just started reading some of threads when I realized that you are somewhere near NW Indiana and it caught my attention. We have at least a few things in common!

Everyone have a great day...thanks for lettting me share......

welcome sparky! I hope you come back often! Thank goodness your DH is OK!!!

slo - happy hunting!!!

At least I didn't find James asleep on the floor this morning! He was not very perky yesterday! Today is better so far! Is there a petition I can sign to stop daylight savings time?? LOL! The kids have testing this week at school. so I go tup a little early & made sure they had a better breakfast today! They got a good night's sleep so hopefully they are well prepared!

Hi there neighbor!!!! :wave2: I'm so glad you stopped by to say hi. Please come by often and visit, we would love you to join our fireman wife family :)

Wow, that's scary about your DH and the firetruck flipping over :scared1: :faint: I'm so glad that he was okay.

When you get a chance, let me know on here or through a PM, what town you are from.

The house is so quiet. Stephanie is at CCD, Kevin is running errands, and Katie is watching Blues Clues - so I thought, what a perfect time to DIS. :thumbsup2

Idroveallnight -
happy hunting!!!
Gee thanks!!!! :)
Is there a petition I can sign to stop daylight savings time?? LOL!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Kevin is having a really hard time adjusting too. He'd be your first signature on your petition.
The kids have testing this week at school.
How were the kids first two days of testing?

Your welcome!!!

I hope you get a good response on the CB :)

Good morning everyone!

Testing has been going well. James was nervous as this was his first time to take ARMT's. He was fine after the first day, I think they go right on to SAT's as soon as they finish.

slo - any raccoons in the trap?

eeyore - I'm glad Emily is doing well!

Talk to ya'll soon!

I had such a good day yesterday. Why do you ask.........

I GOT FREE DINING AND I GOT INTO CINDY'S CASTLE FOR BREAKFAST!!!!!!
:cool1:  :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay: :cool1:  :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay:

First I called the dining number to ask about us getting the free dining w/ our reservations already made and the recording said you can make most dinner reservations 180 days in advance. I started to panic  because I thought it was 120 days and June 1st was the day to call for the CRT (Kevin and I always double team it by calling on 2 phones starting at 5:58am). So I started counting back in the calendar and I'm getting closer and closer to April 4th and then I surpassed it to April 1st - April Fools Day was the day I was suppossed to call :scared1: :faint: So I called and the CM asked me, "what time do you want?" I said, "what time is available?" He said, "what time do you want." I said, what's ever's left." So he started reading every single time left, which was basically all of them - poor guy!!! I told him that I've been getting into the castle since it was 60 days out and I took whatever was given to me, I didn't have a choice, then he understood why I was slow in giving him a time. So, I told him 8:30am and he said, "no problem" - I love how you can now make ADR's 180 days out, makes things so much less stressful for me. You do have to still prepay and the CRT is costing us $108.00 this year :faint: But that's okay, I'm paying for the memories, not the food

Then I called back and asked about the free dining (last year I called to late and didn't get it). The CM told me no problem and she changed everything - she told me to look for the confirmation in the mail. This free dining is going to easily save us $500 - $700 :cheer2: I called Kevin and left a message on his voice mail that said, "WE GOT FREE DINING!!!!" and then I hung up. He called me back and was very excited too. This year was definitly going to be more for food since we have to pay for Katie.

So......yesterday was one of the best days that I have had in quite awhile!!!!

Then last night Stephanie had her first soccer practice and she loved it  I don't know how good she's going to be, but who cares, she's having fun!!!! :cool1: Poor Katie didn't understand that she couldn't go with and to watch from afar. She would sometimes run toward the team practicing and then when I would grab her and take her back to where we were sitting she would start to cry, "SISSY!!!!!" The girls are very close and Katie feels that she is joined to Stephanie's hip. Oh well, she'll learn eventually that she can't always be with her.

Idroveallnight - I'm glad testing is going well, that great!!! No more raccoons in the trap and the trap was taken away and the hole is covered up. Now the pest company is going to come fix the hole for another $400  . Oh well, hopefully this saga will soon be over!!!!

Well, I gotta run - have a good day everyone!!!!

Congratulations on your ressie & your free dining!! :woohoo: You were in need of some serious pixiedust: after last month! Now you can spend time deciding where you want to eat! I'm glad to hear that your raccoon saga is coming to a close! Dot (Emily's kitten) is finally perking up after her spay/declaw on Tuesday! :cat: SHe is sitting on my lap & playing this morning. They always look so pitiful when they come home!

Well have a great day!!!

Thanks for the congrats - I felt I was in need of some PD too. This is such a great way to start April. I can hardly wait to start making my dining ADR's, but I am waiting for the schedule to come out for MNSSHP before I start doing that. The CM I talked to is hoping that will come out really soon because many people are calling about it.

I'm glad that Dot is doing better. Is she older or just a kitten?:cat: I wish we could have a cat, but Kevin and I are both allergic.

Are you doing anything exciting this weekend? I'm just doing my normal, which is going to my Grandma's house on Saturday and then don't know yet for Sunday.

Have a good day today - gotta run!!!!!

Hi Everyone!

slo - That is so great about free dining and CRT ressies! When exactly are you going this year?

It looks like maybe things may finally be turning and on the upswing for you! :goodvibes I sure hope so. You deserve it!!

Idroveallnight - Glad to hear Emily's kitty is doing better!! We have three new kitties that are about three weeks old right now. The boys want to keep all three but that's not going to happen!

Hope everyone has a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.

TGIF

Well, we are off to Destin, FL this weekend for the last cheer competition of the season! The girls are excited about a weekend at the beach. :sunny: :sail: James has games this weekend, so the boys will be staying home. I hope the girls do well!
Dot is still a baby - 6 mos. old. I love cats! I am allergic, but not horribly so. I would have a hard time not keeping all 3 kittens! But be strong!

Everyone have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
