I wish I was going with you.
Oh and the congratulations should go to you! You started this wonderful thread!!
I was going to stop by the LTP thread, but I ended up not being able to be on the DIS as much as I wanted. Katie likes to sit on my lap alot when I'm on the computer and it makes it very hard to type. Congrats to you guys for having 80,000 posts - that's amazing!!!! I read this and said OMG that's so scary!!!!Our family had a scare this week. DH (a Sheriff's Deputy) was involved in a standoff. It was a three hour standoff that started with one of his partners being shot. Luckily, his partner is fine. He was shot in the arm and the side. DH ended up in a creek bed for 90 minutes being shot at. He said one bullet went go right by his ear and he was able to hear it go by! The guy shot over 50 times at deputies and officers but luckily he wasn't the best shot. After three hours he surrendered and is being held for psychiatric observation right now.
I'm so glad that your DH's partner is fine, but still - HE GOT SHOT - that's so scary!!! How is your DH mentally after all this happened? Is he doing okay, or is he freaked out? I will remember your family in my prayers, because God had a guardian angel with your DH that day and I'm very grateful!!Congratulations to everyone on hitting the 1,000th post here.

Hopefully they will let us into another country!!
I know this trip will be great! But, really, when have I ever had a "not great" trip - it is Disney World!
I also cancelled the doctors appt because we felt there was no sense on going if she only has the one spot. She is on the mediciane until Monday and if she gets more spots over the weekend or after the mediciane is gone, we are definitly going back in. Also, I'm glad you both would make the appt for when my normal doctor comes back too - that makes me feel like I'm not naurotic

Idroveallnight ~ You are exactly right....slo deserves some credit for getting this thread started. It's a great thread! Thanks, slo!

I was driving myself crazy last pm trying to plan going to get passports and then driving up to the school & back as DH & I have our dinner ressies tonite for Ruth's CHris.

Our trip is in September and I'm already starting to plan - making the itinerary is one of my favorite parts of the trip. Maybe I should have been a travel agent, but only for WDW trips

. I agree with you that it was nice for them to meet ahead of time, this way there are no questions or concerns when they move in together.
(if you know what I mean). I have a feeling it's going to be a long day.
.
and support - we are a great group. I'm sorry you are having a hard time adjusting to your DH's new schedule
How does your VFD work? Is he considered a probationary officer for 2 years and then has to get voted on by his fellow FD members? This is how it is in our dept, and therefore the guys have to really prove themselves in their first 2 years, which means they are never home
. I can assure you that eventually life will get better when you get used to the change. I used to get lonely and frustrated. I would make this big wonderful meal and as soon as we would sit down to eat, the pager goes off
Or, as soon as we would be ready to go somewhere, the pager goes off
You have to keep telling yourself (at least I did) that he is doing this to help other people, and even though it is hard for us wives, we have to adjust and understand. My DH has been on the dept for 8 years now, and I would be lying if I said that I don't get frustrated still, because I do, just not nearly as often
Hang in there, and we he's away on a call, go the computer and DIS - just make sure you stop by here, we would love to get to know you!!!

Unless of course said Monday morning happens in WDW!Idroveallnight said:slo - I hope the girls are all better - and that mom and dad don't get sick also! Ihope ya'll have a much better week this week!
) I'm sure hoping we have a good week this week.
