I am fine as can be expected with the foot.. last night we went to Wildfire to celebrate Eric's17 bday, geoff leaving for school and my bday 8/26.. it was wonderful. i had aspargus in butter. YUMMY.. roastesd veggies and halibet.. it was great.. boys had ribs. must have been good as they finished a whole rack..

Today is back to the library for more books to read. Any suggestions?

Our cat, Bambi died Thursday evening. Not really in the mood for talking yet. Have to take youngest DD out to get some things for school and all. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Hi all!! Wow, I can't believe summer is almost over! We're back to school next week much to my kids dismay....

Stitchfans - so sorry to hear about your cat. Our dog is 15yrs and is really starting to show her age, can't hear or see well at all. Not looking forward to losing her.

geffric - dinner sounds yummy!! Book suggestions; The Help, The Wednesday Sisters and Sarah's Key were all good. I haven't read the Dragon Tatoo series but it is very popular as is Sizzling Sixteen by Janet Evanovich and House Rules by Jodi Picoult. Working at the library I see a lot of books coming in and out.


Not much traffic here lately. How's everyone doing??

Hello Friends! just thought I'd swing by see if anyone is going to the DVC event downtown at the Arie Crown Theater the weekend of the 25th? We are doing the Sunday at 7pm event! Also, I just handed in an application to the Disney Store in Orland. They said they'll keep it on hand for when they have a group interview in the evening... right now they don't have one scheduled yet. Hope to hear from them soon! Well, I hope everyone is doing well!

Nobody checking in here anymore? I guess since Slo left us for facebook, we've sort of rolled up the carpet! Hope everyone had a wonderful summer and have settled in to the school year. Wedding plans moving along DG? Stitch, hope things have settled down a bit for you. Missing the visits with everyone, but busy here as well.

I rarely post but have it set to e-mail me when there are responses! I was just thinking earlier today that I hadn't seen anything on the Chicago thread in a while.

We are just getting back into the school routine. I have one more "back to school" night to go. DD just did the National American Miss pageant over labor day. She didn't place but we really weren't expecting her to. I'm glad as much as I would love to go to CA & Disneyland, we really didn't have the money.

Otherwise same old, same old for us here.

Morning..

nothing much to report here.. just sitting with my foot up and reading.. Only a few more weeks to go before PT and weight bearing again..

Yesterday I did get out of the house for an hour.. still need more practice to get myself out and over the steps.. steps and doors seem to be my biggest challenge.. but I want to go to dominicks this week so I'll keep trying..

Fremd lost again.. and this was the home openers.. ah well.. looks like this team needs some more practice..

Good Morning Everyone! What a weekend! Such beautiful weather and I had to work. Saturday was our free Stars of Lyric Opera at Millennium Park. It was a beautiful concert. I had to work yesterday too. Final auditions for the Ryan Opera Center. I got to hang out backstage which was pretty exciting as I never get to go back there! I was wondering... have any of you been to Victoria and Albert's? Mike and I are considering going as our first anniversary gift to each other. Our ADR date is October 2.

ID ~ the condo is getting there. I finally have a few things on the walls! My dad is planning on giving us the desk from my mom's craft room so we don't have to purchase a desk and filing cabinets/storage for our office. We just need to take it apart and rent a uhaul or something seeing as it will never fit in any of our cars!

Geff ~ sorry to hear your foot is still giving you a hard time. i'll keep my fingers crossed that you are able to get to dominick's soon!

Then, I got promoted at work and now I'm getting married on Thursday at the Swan & Dolphin Resort. Afterwards, we are sailing away on the DCL for our honeymoon. All my family is from IL and my fiance's family is from OH. We are having 45 guests attending our wedding, most of my family is already in FL. Lucky!! I can't wait to leave tomorrow!! Does anyone here watch Project Runway?

If so, Tim Gunn is going to be in Chicago for a book signing tonight at 7:00 pm at the Michigan Avenue Borders. I'm bummed I have to work and can't go as I would LOVE to meet him in person.

Also, if you did watch it, I was rooting for Peach since she was a local but I knew there was no way she would win...she wasn't designing over the top runway type designs.

Hey, Chicago! We just got back (yesterday!) from a trip to the World to celebrate our 30th (yikes!) anniversary. (I am in the process of starting to post a trip report over on the trip reports board). We had a good time at Disney World and even went kind of spur of the moment-ish to the beach (the *real* beach) one night!

Congratulations to DisneyFreak22...you have picked an awesome place! (Our first house was in Hoffman Estates, too!) Have a magical time!!

I have finally moved back to my home.
Have been living with the parental units in southern illinois up until a week ago.

Moved the 'rents to a place near my home!
