Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Would LOVE to but, our flight gets in about 10PM! Latest possible "IN" for free dining, LOL! :thumbsup2 What about your other days? With Oct hours not posted yet, it's hard to schedule anything yet. :confused3

Kim I am there for the whole week.. so MAC and I can meet you even for a dole whip or anything??

Would LOVE a dole whip - right now! Sounds good for then, too! I do know for sure that we aren't doing MK on 10/6 because my brother is doing MNSSHP that night so, that means MK closes early and we're not doing MK on a MNSSHP night. Did that make sense? :confused3 Possible MK days are the 4th, 5th or 7th, depending on MNSSHP. WISH those Oct hours would come out! :rolleyes1 Let's plan something tho, for sure! :thumbsup2

Well friends, we finally turned on the air conditioning last night.
Poor Katie was sweating so bad, I had to give her some relief (she gets so so hot and sweats so so much. I feel so bad for her, because this will NOT be a good thing for her as she gets older).
I think I will keep the air on all weekend, so our family is comfortable on Fathers Day :)

Speaking of Fathers Day - what is everyone doing?
We are having the family over - as normal.
I'm hoping we can be outside and use the pool - the kids are dieing to swim.
I also would like to bring out the couquet set and the bean bags to play with - I love doing those games!!!

Is anyone excited like me about Public Enemies?:yay:
I can hardly wait until it comes to the theater - I will pay to see that!!!!!!:thumbsup2

TTTiiiggennnnnn - That's great that you are playing softball again this year :)Sounds like so much fun!!!

Donk - Sounds like you have a nice big family - that's awesome!!!!:goodvibes

FLA - Don't forget to eat some Chicago Style pizza when you are in town - we all love Ginos East and Lou Malnotti's :thumbsup2

LuvMy3Monkeys - :welcome:
Thanks for coming here for advice - we always love to help!!!!!:goodvibes
I'm not good at recommending hotels, but I can tell you that your kids will love the Childrens Museum, Museum of Science and Industry and the Aquarium. Others here will be happy to give advice.

mommyrants - :welcome:
We would love to have you join in!!!!!:goodvibes
Please come by often!!!!

esbrick - I love the heat too!!! ::yes::
When I hear sunny and 95 - I'm thrilled, especially if it's my day off and I can float in my pool :thumbsup2

Bunchkin - No swimming yet :sad2: I hate seeing the pool sit there, and not be able to use it.
**I'm sorry to hear about your MIL not being able to take chemo. I will continue to keep her in my prayers.
**How are you feeling?
**How are the kids adjusting? Still good I hope.
**How's the unpacking going?
**How many questions do you think I can ask???? :rotfl:

geffric - How fun for you and Mac to have dinner together!!!:)

racha - Isn't it funny how we all love different types of weather. I have a friend who loves dreary weather too ::yes::

Kim - Doing alot of nothing sounds awesome to me!!!! I hope you have a good trip when you go :cool1:

HERSEY - My aunt and uncle from Seattle were visiting us last week, and he said it felt like Seattle weather - so it's funny that you posted that. :)

Well, it's time to get ready for work - I want to go a little early so I can make sure I get people's Father's Day done.
Have a good day!!!!

Since I don't feel like lugging the entire house to Chicago for four days, I am trying to cut back on a few things.:lmao: We have AG tea reservations and the website says that if you don't bring your doll they have plenty to use. I am guessing that they are not lending, but renting? the dolls out. Does anyone know if there is a charge for this and what it is?

I can't wait to try the Chicago style pizza. Does anyone have rec's for hot dogs?

Thanks!

We turned our a/c on last night too. I can handle the heat, it is the humidity that does me in. So glad I am not at the zoo today.

Bunchkin ~ Sorry to hear that chemo is not going to be an option for her.

Hey everyone! I am back! We got back on Tues. but have been busy with laundry, grocery shopping, unpacking, etc...
Anyway, we had an awesome trip. I will go into detail when I figure out how to get the pics off of my new camera. It was hot (blazing! seemed hotter than my last 2 trips in Aug.) and crowded (paid for sleeping in one day-FPs gone and 60 min + waits!) but of course we still had a wonderful time! I even met 2 Disers!
Hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to catch up a bit later.
FLANgie- Portillos!

That is so funny, I am doing MNSSHP on 10/6 too.. Sunday 10/4 we are at AK with the last Iguanandon group.. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2187342 with MAC.. wanna join us??

Hi all!

Taking DH's mom to her heart doc today.
Also, trying to finish up some unpacking before the carpet cleaners return tomorrow.
And I didn't get around to registering DD for her school yesterday. So we'll do that this morning too.

Hersey I've been thinking about you too.
Seattle huh? Rain? What's that? Don't see much of it here! :)

slo Hunter is a big sweat monster at night too. I'm hoping he grows out of it!
The kids seem to be adjusting fine so far. I'm glad it's summer so they have time to just relax and soak it in, instead of it being the middle of the school year and having to tackle a new school and adjusting to where we live.
And we've been so busy lately that I think it helps keep their minds off of missing their friends and the old house.
And they are looking forward to going to DL. We've been looking online a lot about what rides to go on, etc.

Paint Glad you're back! Can't wait to see those pics!

FLAngie There is NO charge for using one of the AG store dolls. :thumbsup2 They will ask you/or you ask them to borrow one as you enter the cafe. They will give you a seat for the doll that attaches to the table. And when you leave the cafe you can return it to the area they store them. Or even leave it on the table I think.

Time to feed Hunter, he's finally up. Lauren is still sleeping and it's 8:45am here. She's turning into a sleepy head teen already!!

Hey Bunchkin ~ Sounds like you are really busy. You mentioned the other day you were going to try and get an appointment with your MIL's heart dr or talk to him while you were there today. Hope all goes well for both of you!:thumbsup2

God will it ever stop raining. . . :sad2:

on a random note - is anyone going to go to the american idol auditions at the united center this weekend/monday? registration is on the weekend but the actual auditions are monday there. hopefully the town won't be too crowded with crazies :rotfl:

nice to here from you Bunchy.. let us know how things are going with MIL.. how is Tony doing now that you and the kids are there ..

RAIN and MORE RAIN.. Rain Rain go away.. and it is muggy.. had all the windows open and then I had to close them for the rain.. last night cat and I were up several times with the storm cl;osing windows and unplugging things..tomorrow is supposed to be nice..

I'm kinds laughing at all of you talking about turning on the air and it being muggy there. And I'm sure if I was still there I'd have our air on too.
Our air is on in Vegas, of course. Today driving around in the car the thingy in my dash that tells me the outside temp was up to 104!!!! Grant it, there is no humidity, but 104 is hot no matter where you're at!!!
There was a nice breeze, but the breeze was HOT too!! :rotfl:

MIL had an ekg today, but won't get the results till next week I think.

Tony is happy to have us all together. All though I think that whiile we apart he was picking up some 'bachelor habits'. He has to remember that he needs to pick up after himself, it's not my job! ;)

AMEN!!! I've been saying this for the past 2 days around here!!
Keeping you MIL in prayers and thougts. Hope all is going well and you are settling in as best as you can. Glad to hear the kids are keeping busy and not missing IL too much.

Welcome home Paint. Can't wait to hear all about your trip and see the pix.

Slo, have a great weekend. I think you will get to enjoy your pool.:wizard:
I haven't even bothered putting ours up. I think I will go to my SIL and enjoy hers if we ever get a good warm day.

Hope everyone stayed dry at home. It was some wicked bad weather around here tonight. I thought for sure I'd become Dorothy on my way home from work.
Have a great weekend all.
And to all our Chicago Area Dad Disers out there---HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

;) Look for my brother 10/6! :rotfl: I think he and my nephew are both going as Buzz, altho I SUGGESTED that bro go as Woody and let nephew be Buzz. :rolleyes1
I don't plan on doing AK at all. I just don't like that park - Don't FLAME me, please. :scared: What other plans ya got? ;)

Our A/C went ON last night too. DD was moaning "it's hot". I didn't know what A/C WAS until I was her age! :rolleyes1 Humidity gets to me tho too.

ENOUGH RAIN! I've been sopping up water ALL NIGHT! Endless cycle. :laundy:

Stay dry everyone!

Kim Glad you checked in. I was thinking of you with all that water.

We have had no water in the house thank goodness. The ground here can't hold another drop though. I have stones by my back gate that are under water and you guessed it. The dogs found it! Hershey keeps running through it. Minnie is allergic to water which is good.

We tuffed it out no air here yet. Though I almost caved. Alex was complaining about the heat. I looked at him and he had flannel pants on. I just told him to think about winter pirate: cause he was dressed like it.:rotfl:

I hope everyone is fairing well these days  Think disney maybe we will all be taken away there for our good ways  Ok it is a dream but I like it.:upsidedow

I am now going outside to take a picture of no clouds just blue sky and drink my coffee:snooty: .

WOW do I know how to clear out a room or what :rotfl2:

I hope everyone was just out enjoying no rain. But boy was it warm I broke down and put the air on. After vaccuming I was just a puddle so the air came on. Notice how I told Alex to tough it out but I put the air on for me.:rotfl:Don't tell.

Happy Father day for all the Dads
