Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I received a call last night from my sister. I couldn't understand a word she was saying, it sounded frantic... once I got her to calm down I found out she was not frantic at all, she was ridiculously excited. Kenny Chesney (her favorite musician) is giving every Avon Walker participating this weekend 2 free tix to his concert next week at Soldier Field. So we're going to his concert!!! I'm quite excited, though apparently not as much as my sister.

Piglet ~ Congrats to Kevin. What an accomplishment:thumbsup2

Kim ~ I keep procrastinating on those sweaters b/c the weather has been so indecisive. It was 82 degrees sunday and was 47 when I left my house this morning. I'm actually wearing a sweater today... in JUNE!!! :sad2:

Slo ~ where ya been? :confused3 hope everything is alright!

Everyone else ~ have a wonderful day!

Morning all! Guess I haven't been here in a while?!:confused3
I started reading a TR by the CampbellScot family and got sucked in but good. I went back to read her older ones, too. It was very entertaining.
Well, congrats to the grads and the super kids who do such wonderful things and show applaudible behaviors, get well to any sick folks-much prayer and thoughts to you , have fun for all those vacationers whose vacations are quickly approaching, welcome to the new folks who have joined us, hang in there-for those of us who are still wrapping up the end of the school year :headache:(only 5 more lunches:woohoo:), thanks to all our wonderful tour guide's advice;), (and I confess-I am always in such a rush to "go somewhere" on vacation that I, too, forget we have some awesome things to do right here in our own backyard), thanks, as always, to our resident Dis shows postings lister, and good luck to those moving out to bigger and better things (you have our best wishes always). And hello to everyone. I think that has it covered.
Arranged our family's next great adventure for this summer. It is definately going to take me out of my comfort zone. DH has been wanting to go river rafting for some time. So I found a place in West Virginia that we can do this as a family and that has a great spot for the kids to play in a lake. But it is still $76 a night to camp in a cabin/tent with no electricity.:scared1:I keep thinking to myself, "I could stay at the All-Stars for that and have a much better time". :rolleyes1:laughing:
The family birthday party is over-it was a bit chilly at the park that day. But it's done. Now they have their friend party this weekend. DD is having a sleepover and I found a few crafts at Oriental Trading for them to do. DS is going to play Laser Tag with his friends and then come back here for pizza. I will be so glad when that is over. Then my summer can begin! They still have school until next Wednesday(thanks to the snow days and the 1 too cold day) but every day next week is only a half day. I really detest that.
Well, guess I'd better get busy. Need to shower and get some groceries. DS is supposed to have a baseball game tonight-if it doesn't get rained out. I am actually hoping it does-then we will go to see "UP!"
Later all. Have a good day and try to stay dry!

Hi to all!!!

Still packing UGH!!!
Moving this Sunday, so I've been busy with all the normal moving issues like the utilities, last minute errands, etc.
And listing appliances on Craigslist. Anyone needing fairly new GE gas stove, micro/convection oven or dishwasher let me know. They are all in great condition and going for cheap!! Don't need them at the new place and they're not need at the old house!! So they got to go!

Lauren earned herself a Citizenship award at school. She's very proud!

Hard to believe yesterday evening we were sitting in outdoor dining at the local irish pub enjoying dinner and today it's so darned cold.

I hear ya! DDs games are outdoors, usually evenings and, even if it's 75 during the day, it drops 20-30º everynight! I hate packing ALL my sweatshirts away, just yet! Gonna need 1-2 at some time this summer! LOL

Plus, we're going to Montana later this month and, where we're staying is lower (altitude/temp-wise), we're also going to Glacier National Park, where there's SNOW all year! I just CAN'T wrap myself around WARM yet - without my WARM CLOTHES, I mean! ;) And, I've been sick since Sat and I've needed and NOT needed my warm clothes lately as well. Ya know, chills, fever, sweating, over and over again. :rolleyes1

John, you crack me up! :rotfl2:

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: Another chilly day today :sad2: For some reason all morning something just hasn't felt right. Ya know that feeling? I was leaving the house thinking maybe I forgot something... nope. running late? not really... even now, something just feels... off. I'm sure it's just my over active imagination! I started reading a new book the other day, "The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World". It's pretty good! :thumbsup2

Tigg ~ Did you get to see UP? for $76 a night I too would rather be in WDW!

Bunchkin ~ Good Luck with the move. Come back and visit us when you get settled in!:wizard:

Crissup ~ There is/was an awesome Irish Pub in Mokena that DF and I used to go to. Apparently, they needed to close. :sad2:

Kim ~ Montana sounds nice. I hear it's beautiful there. I would definitely wait to pack up ALL the sweaters until after your trip. Hope you feel better soon:wizard:

Everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Has anyone heard from Slo? It is unusual for her to not post here in so long. I looked back and it was Saturday when she last posted. She was on Facebook Sunday morning, but that is it for there too.

I was wondering where she is too?

Well...crud...of course I see this NOW. We have the dishwasher repairman coming out tomorrow! Although it might be covered under the extended warranty if the problem isn't "you are an idiot & this is why it's not working"!!! I hope or well..umm...yeah -- we might need the dishwasher but looks like you will be signed off before I know for sure. :lmao:

Today is DS-12's last day of school!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My other school kids were done yesterday -- weird ending for the year.

I'm so ready to be on summer vacation.

Thanks mac! The only way I could think of calling her was at the store. I hate to call there for personal reasons. (especially since I have never called her before)

Excellent Book!! Written by a good friend of mine (and previous DIS moderator), so I'm a bit biased. But she did a lot of research and dug up a lot of new info along with pointing out a lot of details that only a small percentage of us knew previously. Much of the info can be gotten through the various backstage tours, but there's also a lot of info that could only be gotten by talking to the imagineers. Plus, it's nice to have it all collected into one place. It's not a guide book, but a book that will be most appreciated by those who no longer feel they need a guide book (although, new Disney fans will love it as well).

Just popping in for a moment to say...............

I spoke with slo and she's doing fine. Just busy with work and life.
So all is well. :goodvibes Also, she's having computer issues which I think she mentioned that the other day or so. So her computer is being checked out. :surfweb:

Thanks Bunchkin, I figured it was something like that, but still worried.

Thank you for the update Bunchkin! I remember her saying something about computer troubles but I thought it was storm/internet related! Thanks for letting us know she is well!:goodvibes

damn..........now what am i going to do with all these dogs i borrowed...

they eat more than my cat does in an entire week!

Yawn..........I was up until 2:30am last night/this morning :faint:
I was going through baby/kids clothes getting it ready for the garage sale, that is a week from today. I just don't know when everything is going to get done. I have so much work to do at work (I went back there last night to after dinner), so much to do at home (my uncle is coming into town tomorrow, and the whole family is coming over next Thursday and Friday for dinner - my house is like an ABomb dropped on it - crap everywhere and lawn furniture still under a tarp that needs to come out and get cleaned before next week), so much to do for this garage sale - there is not enough time in the day :sad2: Especially when I know how much I have to do at work, and my customers aren't going to understand that I have so much to do outside of the store. I'm feeling very stressed out:headache::headache: I literally don't know how it's all going to get done :faint:

Thanks Nicole for giving everyone an update
And thanks so much for everyone being concerned
I have been having computer issues, and at first they were because of the storm. Then Sunday morning, something bad happened to my laptop, and our friend, who is an IT guy, took it to fix it. I haven't had any time to go on my computer at work, because I am that busy - I don't even eat lunch. I was just thinking yesterday how I better check in because I didn't want you guys to wonder if I'm okay or not, but then I got started on a project, and I didn't want to stop, and it took longer than anticipated (you know how it is - you get in the groove with something, and you don't want to disrupt that groove). Then I thought I would take the girls to the library, and I would use the computer there, but then I had to go back to work, and that didn't happen. My life is just so crazy busy right now - I need a vacation!!!!:headache:

My computer is back now, and I'm hoping that it stays okay:wizard:I don't like being w/o it:sad2:

I gotta run and make Steph her lunch - one more week of school!!!!:woohoo::yay:

Thanks again for thinking of me, and I'll try and catch up later. If I missed something that I should have seen, but didn't see, please PM and let me know - I would appreciate it.

Have a good day!!!
