:wave2:
hi ya slo........and all other chicagoland homies!

always a delight when you post here.
you started this thread eons ago and it is still alive.

hope all have had a good summer.

i go back to school august 19.

:crazy2:

good morning everyone. Just back from WDW. had a fun time as always and looking sooo forward to the quick turn around as I am headed back with DD in 3 weeks.
Slo, I can't believe you go back to school so early. I thought the 21st was bad. I never look forward to back to school. All the homework and rushing around to be someplace. :crazy2: Much prefer the laid back schedule of summer. Even though it can still be a little  with DD dance schedule.
Hi Mac. I am sure you are anxiously awaiting your annual trip.
And hello to everyone else.

I go back on the 13th! The kids go back the 20th. This summer went too quickly!

We are home from a lovely week in the Dells and I am just in awe at how quickly the entire YEAR is going by, not just the Summer. I feel like I just blinked from NYE to now!!! If only September of 2014 can get here quickly, I will feel much better!! (That's our next trip to the WORLD!)

The pace is insane! I just decided to do an impromptu long weekend at WDW because I need my fix! One month to go!

Good Morning all!!! Just thought I'd dig up this old thread! :lmao:
Last post was August back when we were all passing out from the heat! Wishing for some of that heat now. :rolleyes1
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy New Year!

Life has returned to crazy here with school, DD :dance3:, DS Tae Kwon Doe, confirmation and piano, and just the day to day life. Cannot wait for summer. No exciting plans (isn't that exciting) and just looking forward to a little warmth and rest.

Hi there!! :wave2:

Longtime lurker. Planning an August trip. Anyone have any advice for driving down to Disney with an infant and 2 5 year olds????

Hi all,
Thanks, tiggerrn for reviving the thread!

We will be leaving in 2 months (or less than 2 months) for my DS's WDW band trip. So looking forward to it!
DS will be going down by coach bus with the rest of the school band. DH, DD, and I will be flying to WDW.

Yes, it is really cold here!!

Hi to all!

I saw this, and I thought, I've posted since then:scratchin
Then I looked, and I haven't posted since July

Good morning everyone!!!:wave2:
I don't have time to say much, just a quick fill in.....

Life's busy busy busy!!!!
Stephanie has been very active with her soccer (indoor of course) and is now taking formal voice lessons. She has a beautiful voice. She's also old enough to have a boyfriend now, and he spends time with us on the weekends (such a nice kid. I wish she was older when she met him so there could be a possibility of long term - I like him that much)
Katie is getting ready for softball by practicing 3-4 times a week (indoor of couse).
I still love my new job

I gotta run and make some lunches.

Have a great day!!!

slo, always glad to see youse here!

what do you mean she is old enough to have a boyfriend???
stephanie is still in single digits....

Hi all! :wave2: Was so surprised to see this thread pop up in my email notifications! Don't get on the Dis much anymore, busy with 2 part time jobs and 2 teens and one almost teen. Hoping for a trip to WDW in June but school and summer schedules are getting difficult as they get to high school age.

Tink0513 - we've driven the past three years and will again in June if we go. We don't drive straight through, too old for that now. ;) On the way down we stay in Macon, GA and on the way back it depends on if we leave first thing or hit up a park in the morning before heading out. Our kids are much older so they entertain themselves with DVDs and their personal electronics (phones, ipods, etc). Let me know if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer.

Hi everybody! I've missed you!
DS is now a high school senior heading to Grace College in Indiana in the fall to play baseball! And, study, too, I hope.

We went to Disney in December and are heading back on June 27th. The December trip was less than fun as DH developed a diabetic ulcer on his foot. We didn't know that was what it was since we didn't know he had diabetes! We thought it was a blister. We left a day early and I dropped him of at the hospital on the way home where he stayed for 9 days!

So I am really looking forward to the June trip!

Lori

Roseprincess -
Is your DS going with the Plainfield Central band by any chance? That is the same time they are going. DS signed up to go but is playing baseball instead. I really wanted him to do the band trip but he will choose baseball over band any day!

Have a great time!
Lori

Happy Sunday everyone!!!:coffee:

Well....we got more snow last night :sad1: :cold:
I am so tired of this white crap!!!!:sad1:

What is everyone up to today?
Stephanie is cantoring/singing/soloing at church this morning.:mic:
After that, I think we are taking a field trip to the lake.:drive:
I want the girls to see what it looks like all frozen. :cold:
Then we'll head home and hang out there for there for the rest of the day :happytv:

Lori - I am so sorry to hear about your DH. :(
It's never easy being diagnosed with something, and then having to adjust your life accordingly (I'm going through something similar myself). I will send positive thoughts his way :)

I'm off to wake the singing Princess upprincess: which is never easy:upsidedow

Have a great day today everyone!!! :wave2:

On a side note......

I'm looking at my signature, and that picture of Stephanie and I is going to be 10 years old in September

Part of me wants to update/change this picture to something more recent, but it would be wierd. This picture has always been there. What do you guys think?:scratchin Change it or leave it? LMK :confused3

Waiting to board the Wonder

Sent via my iThingy

Hi to all:coffee::surfweb:

Been awhile..(wave)

SLO - I would keep the picture as a memory..

Crissup - have a great time on the Wonder.

Up date on me - DS#2 is a jr at U of Ill, DS#1 is still working in politics. He was in VA/SC/DC last year, so far this year he is working in Ill.
I am still a Medicare counselor, Meals on Wheels aide. But thinking of adding another "job".. not sure what though, I have been toying with the idea of Travel Agent but not sure..
DH "retired" at the end of last year (2013) and it looking for a job.
We went to WDW and on the Dream in January. Great fun! We will be back there in May for opening of the Seven Dwarves Mine train, Flower and Garden, Star Wars..plus EBTA.

As far as driving: we usually drive. When the kids were real little, we would stay at my parents in Calumet City the night before, dinner etc, let the kids go to bed dressed, Dh would gas the car up on Cline Ave in Ind and we would let about 3 am and drive when the kids were sleeping. From our house, we would do the same, the car packed the night before, kids sleep in their clothes, make them do a bathroom stop before we left, the went back to sleep and lead foot (me) drove .. My bribe to the kids was that they could have all the things I normally wouldn't let them eat ..so on the day before, we loaded up with chocolate muffins and donuts, sliced meat for sandwiches on the drive, juice boxes etc..We stopped at every rest stop for the kids to visit the restroom and I had them run races for 20 minutes before we moved on..one time we went to the McD website and mapped all the McDs on on trip, stopped at each so the kids could play in the playarea/ball pit.andn we got a stamp at each so we had a memory of the trip..Anyway,
