Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: Sorry I didn't post yesterday, we were re-organizing our office. :goodvibes This time of year, any change is good! On another note, I think I may have pinched a nerve in my back. I need to call the doc later see if he can squeeze me in Wednesday or Thursday evening. :confused3 On a happy note, I paid the deposit for our wedding photographer! ::yes:: We had asked her if she would be willing to change dates for us if we couldn't get our date with Disney. She said she would and wrote a special clause in the contract. (which we still need to sign, but I'm pretty sure sending the deposit will hold us over until we can scan the signed contract into the computer! Anywho, I better get to work!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi gang! Yep, I agree with Slo and DG - the governor is an idiot. He must be delusional or something. It is time for him to go away.

DG - Hope you neck feels better soon. Another thing of the wedding to do list - you go girl!

Slo - Here hope for more business today.

I need you guys to convince me to go to Arizona with dh and leave ds at home with grandma. I have a chance to go to a work conference. DH wants to go too. We don't want to pull ds from school. I feel wierd leaving him. We have never both been gone from him for any extended period of time. I don't know why I feel this way. I know we should do it and everything will be OK. I feel bad not taking him to Arizona!

Better get back to work.
Lori

i'm not much help on that question.
i have a harder time leaving my cat than the kids.

the cat behaves better than the 2 legged critters at my place.

and a good morning chicagoland homies...

Hi guys....add me to the list of winter haters! :rotfl: DH too! He forwarded links to two houses he found on Realtor.com in Florida. He's on a major campaign to move.

Today was Open House at the girls school for the primary wing. DD7 read her Science Fair report for the class while I was there. Tomorrow is the intermediate and jr high wing open house. They also had all the raffle items for the upcoming dinner dance on display. The class projects are always sooo nice, I wish it was in our budget to bid on one of them.

slo - wow, Indy sounds great but sorry about the dinner fiasco - strange. We might have to try that one weekend, they have a lot to offer.
*We ended up at Frankie Scalopine, it is a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant and in the 900 N. Michigan Ave bldg. Food was great! Another nice thing is they validate parking and it was only $5! I think that's a bargain for downtown!
**I am so embarassed by our governor. Last night I was watching the BBC news and even they had a huge story on him, it was so embarassing to think even Europe is talking and laughing at Illinois. Hopefully we'll do better electing a new governor next time.

geffric - thanks for all that info on the Rookery, very interesting!
*Condolences to you and your friend on the loss of her mom. We had two teachers at DDs school lose their mothers within the past two weeks. So sad.

mac - thanks for the listings...will have to DVR that new show.
*How's the leg and p.t.? Hope all is well.

paint - to you, I hope this week goes better for you!!
*I saw that 1800s House series on PBS, they did a few different eras (Colonial, pioneer, etc). I can imagine it is hard to go from this age to the past.

piglet - so sorry you didn't like your dinner at TCF, at least the cheesecake was good!

sshd - Welcome Back!! We don't have a meet planned but maybe we should schedule something.....

disneygal - yikes! I hope your back feels better soon!

momto1 - I encourage you to go! It will be a nice trip for you and DH. My DH and I went away for the weekend for our 10th Anniv and the kids were none the worse for wear staying with the grandparents.

Well, the clock is telling me it is time to leave for school pick-up. DD11 has basketball practice tonight, maybe I can convince DH to drive so I don't have to go out again, I hate the cold!!

Have a great day everyone! :joker:

Good afternoon all. Please feel free to keep me in the "I Hate Winter" club!:rotfl:
Tonight the kids' school is having a fundraiser at McDonald's. As a PTO member, I have to volunteer to work the event for a couple of hours. I am not looking forward to this at all.:sad2: And I have become a big disliker of McDonald's food.:snooty: I guess I will have a salad.
Paint, so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you are doing a little better now. It is always hard to lose someone we love.:grouphug: Doesn't sound like you had the best week last week. Hopefully this week will turn out to be a better one.
DG, hopefully you didn't hurt yourself too badly. Moving furniture at work should never fall under "all other duties as assigned".:joker:
Momto1, if I had a gma I could leave my kids with so I could get away with my DH for a little while, I would jump at the opportunity. Sometimes I think we forget about taking care of each other because we get so wrapped up in the kids and all they have going on. So go for it and enjoy your time together!
Slo, I agree about the darling Govna'. I am amazed that he can sit there and act as if he has not done 1 thing wrong. I just have to laugh. Of course, my mom is from Chicago. She believes, "better the crook you know than the one you don't".:rotfl2:
Well, I had better get moving. Not sure what one wears to work at McDonald's.:crazy2:
:wave2: to Bunchkin, Mac, Hersey, Crissup, Donna, piglet, geffric and Welcome to sshd. Please come back and visit us often. Just jump on in anywhere.

TTTTTigernnnnn, i think plaid would be nice to wear to Mickey D's tonight.

anything with the MAC in front of it shouts orange or green to me.

so go in plaid.

yes, the governor was never my governor.
now figure that one out....

i'm sure his game is to have so much publicity that he can cry he would be unable to have a fair trial in the future on his charges.

i guess he figured if he stayed in the public eye by being on the talk shows on monday, where would you find impartial jurors........

It's snowing again :faint:
I really hate it when Kevin has to drive in this snow. I wish the snow would wait until the weekend.

DG - I"m sorry about the pinched nerve in your back - ouch!!!! I've done this before and it does hurt. How did you do it? The last time I hurt my back was this summer when I sneezed  I was bending over and sneezed, and it really hurt my back - luckily, my Chiropractor was able to fix it. I hope your back starts to feel better soonpixiedust:
**Congrats on getting your photographer - you can scratch this off your "to do" list:cheer2:

momto1 - I totally understand your nervousness about leaving your son. In January 2007 Kevin and I went to WDW w/o our girls, and I was very very nervous. I was almost tempted to take seperate flights, so if a plane fell out of the sky, then at least one of us was still living to raise our girls, but Kevin told me to stop being so paranoid. We did have legal paperwork done saying what to do with our children in case something did happen to us, and also paperwork giving the grandparents autorization to treat the children medically, and then we had these notorized. I covered all my bases. In the end, Kevin and I had a fabulous time, and nothing happened (Bunchkin and Tony went to WDW at the same time as us, and left their kids too). I would go with your DH, because it's good for any marriage to have some alone time. There's nothing wrong with being nervous, just cover your bases like I did.

ID - I've never heard of that restaurant - what type of restaurant is it? What type of items did they have on the menu, and would it be good for the kids, or is it more of an adult restaurant? Kevin and I always like to try new places. I'm glad you had a nice meal!!!!:goodvibes

TTTTiiiiiiggggern - How was your function at McDonalds? I wish I could hate McDonalds, but I have a huge weakness for the fries:upsidedow

Mac - Are you getting snow? You always get so much more snow than the rest of us.

Well, I'm off to workout - have a great day today everyone!!

piglet- Too bad you didn't like your food at TCF. Try again- their menu is huge. You can't go wrong with the dessert, though. Godiva=delicious! Oh, and next time, take my suggestion and visit that other restaurant! Oh so good. I think it was added to the 10 lbs. I've gained since last year. At least I am tall (that's what I tell myself!) so there is more places for it to spread out!:rotfl2: BTW, I saw you on the Animal Crossing. Want to exchange codes?
Slo- I remember one of the 1800's House's episodes...the family had teen girls and they got their monthly visitors. They were horrified, as I would be, at what they had to "use". Eek. I'll take my modern conveniences! Oh, and taking separate flights...I was scared when we went on our hmoon that the plane would crash and my kids would be raised by xh. Scary thought!:faint: Poor dd would never have brushed hair again!
momto- My kids have been sleeping over at my mom's since they were babies, but never for more than a few nights. I would night leave them with anyone but my mom (xh included!) for more thana few days. They stayed with her when dh and I went on our WDW honeymoon for 10 nights. They had a blast! So, go for it!
mac-:) Hi!
Dgal- Hope your back is better. I know how painful it can be! When I was preg, for some reason I'd always get horrbile neck pain. Ihad to wear a brace sometimes...I looked like somebody from one of those sleazy lawyer commercials!
Tig- How'd McD go? I could not imagine working there. You'd always smell fried! I like their ffs, but I always order a grilled Southwest Salad. Pretty good!
Okay, definitely need to get the kids going and get to the gym. I made Pillsbury "reduced" fat cinnamon rolls this morning. However, "reduced" does not mean healthy!

Morning all! McD's wasn't so bad. In fact, all we were doing was handing out thank you's to the cars at the drive-up and inside. We were allowed to make ice cream stuff, but someone else from the school was already "trained" to do that.:rotfl2: Our school made $450.00. Not bad for a quickie fundraiser!
Bunchkin, I forgot to update you on my Cheesecake Factory food. Well, by the time we were done with our dinner, we had no room for dessert. I didn't think to ask for a piece to go!:faint: But I originally thought I would have the turtle/carmel cheesecake slice. Oh, for dinner I had the Mahi-Mahi with rice and broccoli. There was so much I couldn't even eat all of that. At Rams the night before I had linguine/shrimp in garlic and tomato sauce and we shared the spinach/artichoke dip. The food there was awesome.:thumbsup2
OK, this snow and cold stuff is just too much. I guess I will head out in a little while and shovel again!! Momto1, where is that moving van!!!:confused3 I am still waiting!!:wave2:
Paint, Mac, Slo, DG, ID, Rose, Hersey, geffric, piglet, Crissup, Donna, Leigh, sshd, and anyone I accidently didn't name :wave2: have a great day and stay warm.
Later all.

paint ~ I have that restaurant on my list, maybe this summer when the kids are visiting the in-laws. (As for TCF, there were several items I was choosing between, so will go back to try something else.) **I am not connected to the internet on Animal Crossings, so I don't know if I can have friends over or not. Let me figure it out, and then we can share codes.

DG ~ Hope you are feeling better!

momto1 ~ I really hope you do go. Slo gave some wonderful advice on how to make yourself feel a bit more secure in leaving them. Also, plan to call them at their bedtime, if that will help.

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: Thank you for the get well wishes! I slept on my back last night (which I never do) and this morning my back was feeling a little better..... until I got on the train and had to sit for 50 minutes. The walk wasn't too pleasant either but I'm ok right now. It gets worse as the day goes on. by the time i got home last night it was pretty uncomfy. i guess it just takes time to get better. I might call the doc today... we'll see!

Momto1~definitely go to the conference in AZ!!! When I was younger my dad sometimes had to go out of state for work and my mom joined him on 2 of the trips! My sisters and I stayed with my gram and had a blast! your DS might enjoy a nice little stay with gram! :goodvibes

Tigg ~ glad to hear the fundraiser was a success! :thumbsup2

Everyone else~ :wave2: have a fabulous day!!!

I figure that shoveling snow is my workout today.. I shoveled ( not snowblowed) my drive and my neighbors. So I did 1 and 1/2 hours or so of snow shoveling so I'm done for the day..

As POOH BEAR said..

the more it snows tiddely pom
the more it goes tiddely pom
on snowing

and no one knows tiddely pom
how cold my toes tiddely pom
are growing

or:

"it is snowing still" said Eeyore gloomily
"So it is" said Pooh

"and freezing"

"Is it?"
"Yes" said Eeyore "However, we haven't had an earthquke lately."

Well off to the grocery store for a few things ( I am going to walk) and then to make Chili..

Hi gang! Yep, I agree with Slo and DG - the governor is an idiot. He must be delusional or something. It is time for him to go away. ::yes:: I so agree.. what is he doing at all of the talk shows and NOT in ILL??::yes::

I need you guys to convince me to go to Arizona with dh and leave ds at home with grandma. I have a chance to go to a work conference. DH wants to go too. We don't want to pull ds from school. I feel wierd leaving him. We have never both been gone from him for any extended period of time. I don't know why I feel this way. I know we should do it and everything will be OK. Lori

All I can say is GO!!! the DS will be fine with GMA. Both she and he will have a wonderful, bonding experience.. GO for it..

Tigg ~ glad to hear the fundraiser was a success! :thumbsup2 $450 is a lot of money .. so great that it worked out for you.

HI to all.. I need to get to the store.. be back soon..

I have to gloat for a second.
I've been using Aldis for my main groceries for a awhile now, and yesterday I was so proud of my purchases. I bought a ton of stuff and my total was only $60.91:cheer2: I couldn't believe my ears when the cashier told me - I was so happy!!!! My days of paying to much at Jewel are over!!! I will still need to go to Jewel for many things that Aldis doesn't have, but for the main stuff - I'm done!! I actually haven't stepped a foot in Jewel since NYE when I picked up Kevin's bday cake. If you have an Aldi's by you, than you need to give it a try. If you have any questions about any of their products, please ask me, and I'll give you my honest opinion.

paint - I"m coming to your house in the morning if you are making cinnamon rolls - they are one of my favorites!!!!:goodvibes My kids don't care for them, so I rarely make them (because then I'd eat them all, and that's not good:sad2: )

TTTTTTTTigern - I"m glad your fundraiser was a success:cheer2:

piglet - Is the Animal Crossing pretty easy to play? Do you think Katie, my 5yr old, could do it?

DG - Here's continued PD for your backpixiedust:

geffric - MMMmmmmm chili :goodvibes Perfect for a cold day!!!!

Well, I'm off to get ready for work, so I can get to work early today - I still have lots to do :thumbsup2
Have a great day today everyone!!!

Quick fly by this morning. I am driving the group to school today. I need to be there when the cookie order comes in today and copy the cookie order slips for the kids.
Slo, glad to hear that you are busy at work. Good to know that the economy hasn't hurt your business. Have a great day!
Morning all! Stay warm and have a nice day.:)

Slo ~ Does Katie read? Animal Crossings does require some reading, but other than that it is an easy game, and she should be able to play it.
** we like Aldi too. but still get a lot at Jewel or Berkots (a little grocery store in town) it all depends on sales.

Lauren is going back to the doctor. She has a fever this morning and a severe sore throat, along with a confirmed case of strept in the class. Figures that the one time her doctor does not look at the throat/ears, is the one time she would have needed it. She was just there yesterday for her back. Lauren started complaining about her back hurting close to three weeks ago. Took her to the doctor then, and we assumed it was muscular since she has not been injured in any way. It is still no better, and the pain is starting to wake her at night. X-rays were negative (of course the radiologist still has to read them) so it is a week of rest and then most likely an MRI. She is a tough little cookie, so it is hard to judge just how much she is really hurting

piglet, :grouphug: for Lauren. i hope you are able to get her in the doctor office today. hopefully, she will feel better soon.

i have another homie to add to my prayer list.
last night i feel asleep after going thru my prayer list.
the last name i remembered was geffric and the success in her job search.

then the lights went out and the snoring began...

slo, we have tried Aldi on 3 occasions and it isn't for us.
none of us were fond of their store brands. we only liked he spiral ham they had on a sale last year.
that's a shame as Aldi is closer to us than Jewel is.
our Aldi closes at 7 each night. i thought that was kind of early.

good Thursday morning chicagoland homies...:wave2:

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I am so ready for the weekend! I just feel like the week has been dragging on and on... fortunately only 1 more day (after today that is). I'm very pleased to report my PayPal issues have been resolved and my dad's bday present was delivered yesterday. It was perfect timing b/c today is his bday! :goodvibes I'm taking him to dinner tonight so we don't have to cook and do dishes on his day! Not sure where he wants to go yet!

Slo ~ I've never shopped at Aldi but there is one in Tinley... I'll have to stop by there. I thought it required a membership so I've never thought of going! Thanks for the PD!

Piglet ~ lots of PD for Lauren! Hope she starts feeling better soon! :wizard:

Mac, Tigg, Geffric, Paint, ID, Bunchy, and everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Morning guys! Just a quick drive by. Anyone else read about the $1 rooms through Last Minute Travel. Read on the Budget boards. I'm glued to their site trying to get a deal!

Will come back again later!

Have a great day everyone!!!
