Back from the doctor's and it is strep.

Mac ~ I am the same way with Aldi. There are only a few things that we like from there, but have given most things a try at least.

DG ~ Not a membership place, just have to have a quarter for the shopping cart. (you do get it back) You may also want to bring your own bags, because they charge for theirs.

Sorry to hear it is strep. I hope she feels better soon. This has been a bad year for illnesses.

Mac You hear yourself snore? I have 2 dogs and a cat that snore want them?

The last time I haven't been to Aldi's in years. Maybe I should try it again. If I remember some things I liked and some I didn't. I used to by mostly baking items.

Hello to all...It's American Idol night...
and I don't *care* for their new judge at all...

So, sound like we have a lot of "members" in this I hate winter club! Something to cheer about, though, did you all notice it's staying lighter longer in the day? Yippee...does that mean it's almost spring, yet???

Piglet, sorry to hear about the strep. Hope it goes away fast!

Slo, I went into Aldi's once but didn't really like it. I'm glad you seem to have a nice one near you.

Disneygal...happy birthday to your dad! Glad that it all worked out.

Mac..thank you for keeping us on your prayer list <even if you snore when you're done!>

Hersey..your animals do the snoring thing? I think that's funny!

Irish Dancer...so I just * had* to go and see what you meant by $1 rooms...did you manage to get one? Wow, that would be the deal of the century!

Anyone got any big plans for Super Bowl?

Have a great night,Hello to ALL, especially lurkers!

Good morning everyone!

I wish our new governor well. Yesterday was such a sad day on many levels.
I was fairly certain the senate would impeach but I was not thinking it would be so one sided. I also thought he would have resigned to saveface and leave himself an opening for a public office in the future. I also find it very sad that some people are still clinging to the sinking ship

I anyone else really looking for the warmer temps this weekend. I am so tired of being cold. I am starting to look at flower and vegetable catalogs for the picture of sun and warm times :beach: Yes I am sad.

I had more employee issues yesterday.
That same employee that made me mad last time did it again yesterday. She calls me 3 hours before she has to work and says that her mom made her a doctors appt, and she can't work:eek:. I was so mad, because I had a appt. with my accountant last night, and now I couldn't go:headache:. I told her that she only works 9 hours a week, and she never works on MWF - why couldn't her mom make an appt. for one of those nights?. She does have medical issues, but she isn't "sick". She said her mom knew she was working, but made the appt anyway. I was SO mad:mad:!!! Her mom trying calling her off once before, so her DD could "catch up" on homework after being sick, and I told her NO WAY!!! I told her that when I hired her DD that she must be here when scheduled, unless she has the flu or an uncontrolable situations - like a death in the family. Calling off to do homework is unacceptable, and she has a responsibility to be here, or she should not have a job - she did come in that night, and said she didn't know why her mom did that, because she barely had any work (I knew she wouldn't, or shouldn't, because she had the whole weekend prior to do the work - I felt that if she didn't do it, then that's not my problem). Since then, there's been other times that something like this has happened, and it always happens when I have plans. Plus, there's been other incidents where she's come in late, or didn't come in at all. I told her this is her last chance, and if this happens again, then she needs to look for another job:mad:!!!!!

TTTTiiiiigernnnnn - Thanks! In some businesses eye, I would probably look slow, but I'm busier than what I was this time last year, and that makes me happy :teeth: I'm just praying now that it continues.

piglet - Katie doesn't read, but I normally have to sit with her anyway when she play Wii to help her out (unless it's bowling - she's awesome at that!!!). Maybe I'll put this in Stephanie's Easter basket, and then they can both play with it.:thumbsup2
**I'm sorry to hear about Lauren being sick:guilty: I will send mountains of PD her waypixiedust:

Mac - I've heard that Aldis spiral ham is pretty good - I will need to try it:) They do close early, but that's okay for me - it's another way they are able to keep their prices down:thumbsup2

DG - Happy Bday to your dad!! :cake: I'm glad your PayPal issues got resolved, and he was able to get his gift in time. Where did you go out for dinner?

ID - $1 rooms  I will have to check that out. We are really trying to save money this year, and I don't think we are even going on vacation. But we are thinking about taking some long weekends - I'll have to look - thanks!!!!:)

HERSEY - You should give Aldis another try ::yes:: I'm learning what I like and don't like - the hotdogs are the worst:crazy2: - but I love saving money, and this is why I keep going back. Some items are awesome, some items are just okay (but we eat to save money) and some items are downright nasty. I'm learning as I go:)

Donna - I love the fact that it's staying light out longer:cheer2: I just changed the timer on for my sign at work - I've been trying to save energy any way I can there. NIPSCO charges almost triple for commercial, and my bills for the business make me do this :faint:

Well, I'm must go get ready for work, because I have to go see my accountant at 9am now - Katie is not happy!!!:sad2: I promised her yesterday morning that she could sleep in today, and now she can't. I hope my employee, and her mother, understand that she is not only disrupting my life, but other people's too.

Well, I gotta run - have a good day!!

Good Friday Morning Everyone! :flower3: My dad says thank you for all the bday wishes!

Slo ~ I'm sorry to hear your employee keeps giving you a hard time. It really stinks when people can't be responsible!

Hersey ~ I hear ya with the cold!! I am soooooooooo over it! I'm ready for summer time! :beach:

Donna ~ I did notice it wasn't as dark when I leave the office. However, it's still dark by the time I get home which is just as uncool! But I like your optimism that spring is on its way! :thumbsup2

Slo ~ Sorry to hear that she has let you down again.

I need ideas of where to find a dress for Lauren. The Father/Daughter dance is coming up and she wants something fancy. Problem is, I don't want to spend more than $50 on anything. So, I am looking for some ideas of where to look in case I am missing someplace.

Hi..

OK I am so sick of being cold!! and snowy!! Hersey is right.. get this over with..

Super Bowl Sunday - have a Boy Scout Troop Court of Honor and Banquet at Cabela's. It should be fun. and the eric invited a few friends here to watch the game.. it should be fun.. and he said ' Mom you and Dad can watch it upstairs (on the little TV).. no.. I bought the big TV and I am going to watch the game on it.. DUH!!:upsidedow

Aldi's - I was there when it first opened and didn't find much to buy there.. maybe I am spoiled by SAMs and Meijers.

Hi gang! You won't believe the excitement I had at work today! A BOMB THREAT! One of my employees received a phone call that a bomb had been planted and we had 5 minutes to get out. She immediately called me and I sprinted - yes the old fat body sprinted - across the building to our CEO's office. We immediately evaucated as if it was a fire drill. We have about 300 people on 3 floors to get out and we did it in 4 minutes. Police and Fire departments arrived. About an hour later we were given the all clear to reenter the building. Probably not a coincedence but we just laid off a whole deparment on Wednesday. Now...this body has to rest up!

Oh...I think dh and I are going to do Arizona. Thanks for all your support and suggestions!

Slo - Hopefully, your employee will come around and work out for you. It would be a shame to lose someone you like.

Piglet - Hope Lauren is feeling better.

Irish Dancer - Yes, I followed the budget board on the $1 hotel stays. Played around with it last night at home until about 11:00. I would love, love, love to snag a Animal Kingdom room. Have you tried to get anything.

DG - Hope your dad's day was great.

To everybody else - hi! Have a great weekend!
Lori

OOOO a bomb threat.. how scarey.:grouphug: Glad everyone is okay..

I'm SO glad it's the weekend!!!!:)

My employee is suppossed to work today, and I'm curious if she'll come in. If she doesn't come in, then she's done, if she does come in, then I'm hoping she really tries to be a better employee. I guess we'll soon find out what happens. Thanks for your posts yesterday - it's always good to know that I have friends here!!!:goodvibes

DG - How is your back doing?

piglet - I would try all the department stores to see if you can find some pretty Christmas dresses (that aren't Christmasy looking) on sale/clearance. There are tons and tons of sale racks this year, and I would be willing to bet some really nice dresses will be on them. If I think of anything else - I will let you know:) Good luck with looking for the dressspixiedust:

geffric - I remember when I didn't want to be around my parents ::yes:: Luckily, my mom had a TV in the basement so me and my friends could be down there. Even though I now that I didn't want to be with my parents, as a teenager, I will be sad, at first, when my girls don't want to be with me:guilty:
**Have fun at your banquet tomorrow.:)

momto1 - A BOMB SCARE!!!!
That would freak me out!!!! Did everyone stay calm? I'm so glad that it turned out to be nothing

Well, I best jump in the shower and get ready for my day - lots of errands to run today.
Have a great day everyone!!!

I hope you all had a good Saturday!!! :goodvibes

I couldn't get over how many people were out and about yesterday.
We went to the post office, and it was busier than Christmas time.
We went to the bank, and we waited in a huge line at the drive-thru.
We went to the library, and could barely find a parking place - it was packed.
Lots and lots of people!!!!!

At the library I got Pirates of the Caribbean @ World's End soundtrack, for my car, and I love it!!!! I also got the soundtrack to The Princess Diaries 2, for my car - I'm looking forward to listening to it :) I really wanted to get myself Harry Potter, but I don't have time to read it right now - maybe next time:thumbsup2

Today I have a lot to do around the house - dusting, vaccumming, and some laundry. I would also like to continue going through things for the garage sale we are having in the spring. You would not believe the amount of boxes that I have now that are filled  So, I'll keep myself busy today:thumbsup2

Well, I better go and start thinking about breakfast.
Have a great day today!!!

Good morning! yesterday was so nice to see the sun. Hopefully today will melt some more of this snow.

Slo everyone must have been down by you. It was just normal crowds maybe even a little less.

momto1 Glad nothing was found :scared:

Slo ~ Have you thought about getting the Harry Potter books on CD for your car? Dewain loves to listen to them.

We did manage to find Lauren a dress. I was just getting so fed up with looking on-line. Went to JC Penney, and she picked out a dress that was on sale for $10. It was not my favorite, but she loves it, so I guess that is what matters.

Hey all.
Hope the sickies are better, the birthdays were happy, and the winter blues are perked up.
Great weekend!! The dog got 3 walks in.:thumbsup2 Now, he sleeps!!
Slo, kids are just not responsible these days. I would never have thought to stand my job up. If I was scheduled, I worked or I found someone to cover me. It wasn't an issue. My guess is, her mother is young and has no work ethic either. The young CNA's at the hospital are the same way. If they have something better to do, they call off.:furious: They never think of anyone but themselves. Really irritating. Sorry for the rant. And sorry you are on the receiving end of it.
momto1, glad your scare was nothing more than that.
Going to run. Backpacks to pack and time to get ready for bed. Later all.

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!!!!!

I sure hope that little fella predicts us to have spring more sooner than later!!!!

The girls have 8am dentist appointments this morning - so no working out today. This is Katie's first time at the dentist, and I'm a little nervous. She has shown alot of fear about going to the dentist, and this is why I've waited so long to take her. I wanted her to be old enough to reason with, in case she gets to nervous while she is in the dentist chair. I'll have to let you all know how she did later.

piglet - I'm not in my car much to get a book on tape. I live less than a mile away from my store, and the daycare is only 3 1/2 miles away from the house - so my travel time on weekdays is very little. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)
**I'm glad you were able to find Lauren a dress:)

TTTTTTiiiigernnnnnnnn - I never would of stood up my job either, and that's why I get so frustrated with her :headache:. My mother would have never found it excusable either, and that's why I get so frustrated with her mother :headache: I just don't get it!!! This girl has a great job, and she's throwing it away with both hands - it just don't get it:confused3

HERSEY - :wave2:

Well, I best get ready so I can get Katie up and ready - she won't be in a good mood this morning at all. Not only am I waking her up early, but it's because of going to the dentist - yep, she won't be happy:sad2:

Have a good day!!!

Tiggg It doesn't seem to be just the young people with poor work ethic. We have one person is my office who seems to be allergic to working a full week.

Slo I hope your worker figures out that jobs are important. I was raised that when you said you were going to do something you did even.

So did anyone watch the game? I was mainly watching for the ads I don't understand football. I thought some of the ads were funny. I didn't understand the Pepsi one at all.

i liked the dorita commercials.
especially the one with the crystal ball....

Good Monday Morning Everyone! :flower3: So I'm back to the drawing board with my reception location. :sad2: We thought we might be set on the California Grill but then found out that we'd need to be done by 3 which would only give us 3 hours for dinner AND dancing. I just don't know where else to look. all the places I REALLY like are too small for our party and all the other places either are too dark or too ballroom-y :rotfl: Anybody have any suggestions? We can't use a park b/c we are using outside photography and well, they aren't allowed in the parks!

Slo ~ I love the Groundhog smilie! Good luck with Katie at the dentist! If she fights about it, I'd show her some pics of bad teeth/smiles... that's what made me very interested in going to the dentist. I wanted pretty teeth! :lmao:

well, better get some work done! Have a good day everyone! :flower3:

Katie did fabulous at the dentist - I was proud of her!!!!
Stephanie didn't get great news though - the dentist said that I can take her for a consultation for braces. We knew these were in her future, but I was suprised with so soon. The dentist said that it all depends on when her baby teeth are gone, and she has only 2 left to loose, and they'll be out in the next 6 months. So, after her ear surgery, which isn't scheduled yet, we'll have to have her fitted for braces - she won't be happy!!!:sad2:

HERSEY - I was raised the same way, and that's how our girls are being raised too ::yes:: There's been a couple of times that Stephanie started something and then wanted to quit, and I said "NO WAY"!! I told her, "You committed to it, and therefore you must finish it!!!" She sometimes fusses about this, but I don't care, and someday she'll thank me for being this way with her :thumbsup2

Mac - The commercial was pretty funny!!!:rotfl:

DG - I'm sorry about the wedding stress:guilty: I wish I could offer you some ideas, but I don't know any, so I'll give you PD insteadpixiedust: . Please keep us posted on how things are going, and I hope everything works out for you.

Well, I must go back to work (it's so cold in this store, and it's hard to work when you are freezing :cold: ).
Have a great rest of the day!!
