Evening all. Well, after further review of the weather forecast, we decided to go to the orchard today ourselves. The kids and I had an enjoyable afternoon. But boy was it crowded. It was a beautiful afternoon for the weather though. Nice breeze. Sun shining all day.
We got a peck of Gala apples and 2 pumpkins and some cider and cinnamon apple donuts. And of course, some caramel apples-they have the best caramel apples. Didn't see anyone we knew.
Leigh, have a great trip!!
Well, off to fix dinner. Having BLT sandwiches tonight! Later

We're baaaack!! Got in about an hour ago, sorted the mail and cleaned out the junk emails. Glad I only had a few pages to catch up on here.

We had a great trip but of course did too much so I'm wiped ;) . It was HOT and of course the usual afternoon rain but we seemed to luck out and be inside when it rained. Never needed the ponchos we bought.

MNSSHP was a BLAST. The kids loved every part of it and wanted to go again, we seriously considered it but the $$$ was a big deterrent.

Flight down was overbooked and they were looking for volunteers to fly to Tampa on a flight leaving at the same time. We had no checked luggage so we took the offer and now have 5 free round trip tickets!! DBil arranged a rental car for us while we were flying down so in the end it worked out perfectly. The rental guy even upgraded us to a minivan for the full-size price.

Have to get the kids to bed, they think we're still on vacation and can stay up late  . If anyone has any questions ask away, I've never written a trip report but maybe I'll give it a go this time.

Night everyone!!

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday - no time!!!

My friend, the girls, and I had a good time at the apple orchard yesterday. It was very very crowded, but it didn't ruin our fun:sad2: The only problem with that place is the cost. It cost us $15 to get in, $19 for apples, and over $30 for caramel apples and donuts - it's not a cheap day!! Oh well, we had fun though!!! :teeth:

HERSEY - :cake: Happy birthday Alex!!!!!
I hope he had a great day Saturday!!!!!
*Thanks about Sophie!!! She got a little better, and then got worse again yesterday. So I went and bought her new food, and I started very slowly introducing that last night. If that doesn't work, than I'm going to take away her rawhides (she loves chewing those), and if that doesn't work, than I guess they'll start to perform tests:guilty:

Leigh - I"m glad you found a mediciane to help you!!!:)
*When are you leaving? We leave in 12 days!!!:woohoo:
*I just answered my question - your leaving Wednesday!!!!:woohoo:

Rose - I'm very sorry to hear about your Grandma:guilty:

DG - Thanks about Sophie!!!
*Your dress is beautiful - congrats on your purchase!!!!!:yay:

Bunchkin - Did you end up going to the orchard?
**Thanks about Sophie
**The open house was a great success!!!! Stephanie was a great help, along with many other older FD kids. She helped set up on Friday, and then Saturday she helped make/serve snowcones, and work the slushy machine. I was really proud of her!!!:goodvibes

Tiiiiigern - What time were you there? We got there at around 11am, and left at about 2pm - we were in parking lot #2. I didn't get any Gala apples this year. When we got to those rows, I already had enough, and I didn't want to buy more. I got Red Delicious, Jonathans, Golden Delicious, Suncrisp, and I"m not sure what Steph picked

ID - Welcome home!!!!! I'm glad you had a good time - I can hardly wait to hear more details. That's great about the flights - what did you think about Tampa airport? We actually love it, and normally fly into that airport. Kevin didn't set it up that way this year - I don't know why  We don't mind the drive from Tampa to Orlando - it doesn't take that long.

Well, I'm off to work off all the donuts and candy that I ate yesterday (we went to the candy factory yesterday too).
Have a great day today!!!

Wow!! Where is everyone?
Slo, we got there about 1:30 and left about 4:30. We picked just Gala apples, bought some donuts, some caramel apples, a couple of pumpkins, and some apple cider. You're right! Definately not cheap.
ID, would love to hear all about your trip. You can try a TR out on us. I did a small one here before and then did the other one on the Trip Board.
Well, off to bed. Kids have no school tomorrow and we have nowhere to go.:yay: Sleep in and be bored day.:cheer2:
Of course, there is always....:laundy:
Night.

Good morning!

WOW on the prices for the apple orchards. We haven't gone to our fav one yet. Maybe this weekend.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Alex. He had a good day. His dad ran in the marathon on sunday. It was his first marathon. He was surprised how many people run in costume. He said batman and superman both ran past him and a guy dressed like a banana :rotfl2:. I thought he ran into the bar for a drink :rolleyes1 but I did see pictures

I need to get ready for another fun day at work. Hopefully the Dow keeps climbing

These nice temps have been great hasn't it?
It's been a lovely autumn!!!

TTTTTTiiigernnnnnnnnnn - Did you have to park in parking lot #2? That's where we were parked. Those caramel apples are just awesome!!! Stephanie couldn't finish hers after I fed her dinner last night, so I of course helped her. Then I ate my dinner an hour later, and I had one for dessert - I shouldn't of, because then I had a stomachache:rolleyes: But it was so good, that I couldn't help it!!!!!:goodvibes
**Have a nice free day today - I would love one of those!!!

Well, I'm off - have a good day!!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. We are quite busy at work yesterday and so I got here at 7:30ish yesterday and 7:45 today! Today won't be quite as busy but still busy enough for me to get on the 630 train! Thank you all for the wonderful compliments on my dress. I started a Planning Journal over on the weddings board. Here's the link to that if any of you are interested!http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1979777

Slo ~ How's Sophie doing? I hope she's feeling better!

ID ~ glad you had a great trip! I've never been to MNSSHP but I hear next to Christmas that's the next best thing! (note... i have been there at Christmas either)

Leigh ~ have a wonderful trip! Safe travels!

Kim ~ have a fun time at the Premiere! You leave this Thursday correct? :)

Bunchkin ~ Mike's doing much better! I was very glad my dress was on sale! :goodvibes

Everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Glad the orchard was fun, Slo and Tiggerrn2. Nathan's Cub Scout event ended up not be cancelled, so we were not able to go. Hoping for next Sunday, if it does not rain. We only do the general admission so hopefully that will save us a little bit. Never bought anything but apples and pumpkins, but maybe this year we will.

Work has been crazy hot since last Wednesday. The mall shut off the a/c and our store must be close to 90. No one else is like that, and we have had people look and not find a reason why we are so hot.

DG ~ I love the dress!

Kim ~ have a fun time at the Premiere! You leave this Thursday correct? :)
Thank you! Yes, we do leave Thursday AM, very early, thanks for remembering. I had my DSIL drop off my niece's 'things' tonight, so I can pack them with ours, and NOT take too many bags. It's kinda crazy with the new 'rules' of what to pack, how much to pack, sizes of samples, etc. but I think I done good! Each girl will have their own backpack to carry-on, loaded with coloring pages, DS, MP3, snacks, whatever, I have no idea, nor do I care, that's their job to keep themselves busy. My DH and I will each have a carry-on also - one will have our Premiere clothes (and some odds and ends I fit in there) so as NOT to be without those if our checked bag ($15) is lost/delayed. The other small carry-on will have all our Premiere shoes - yes, I said, SHOES! Can you believe we need a bag for shoes, alone? Well, we do! It's a premiere, and we're NOT wearing those same shoes to travel and tour the other days. BUT, we are only 'checking' one bag! And, a small luggage bag at that, which contains our Friday touring clothes, and Sat. return clothes. And, one clear plastic, quart-size, zip-top bag is in every bag also, given those restrictions, as well. Geesh!

Air travel is soooo restricted! I don't MIND the safety and precautions, but it's somewhat hard to keep up with all the rules, etc. :headache:

Xanax, here I come!!!

I am slightly stressed, to say the least. I'm also looking forward to this event SO MUCH tho!! I just don't want to 'freak out' while flying. I have to think of the better good - my DD and niece! :thumbsup2 and, Xanax, Xanax, Xanax!!!! :worship:

Kim Try to relax today as much as possible. Have a great time. We will live vicariously through you. Remember each child can have the quart bag too ;)

These last few days have been so beautiful. I wish we could go through the next few months like this:rolleyes1 I vote no winter this year. :thumbsup2

Slo How is Sophie doing?

Can you believe that the first school quarter is almost over. Where does the time go? I wish the days felt like they fly by.

Have a good day everyone

:surfweb:

I'm slowly starting to lay the girls clothes out for our trip. :)
It's exciting to finally do this - we need this vacation!!!!! :cool1:

Thanks to those that asked about Sophie :dog:
This whole thing is such a rollercoaster - just when I thought she was better, she got sick again on Sunday. So I immediately went to the store and bought different dog food, and I am currently very slowly switching her food - she is now better again:thumbsup2 I'm actually starting to think that the inside of a rawhide bone is what is making her sick. Coincidentally, she always gets sick after she's chewed an older bone, where she can really get to the inside. I've thrown older bones away, and have given her a new BIG bone, so she has to really work at it, before she gets to the inside. If she gets sick again, after she does get to the inside, than I'll definitly know it's that. I don't know what I'll do then, because she loves chewing these, and doesn't love chewing anything else, so we'll see what happens:rolleyes:

DG - Thanks for the link. I'll have to check it out!!:)

piglet - If you go to the orchard, make sure you go early. I was told by friends that when they went at 9am, when they opened, they got right in, and it wasn't very crowded yet.
**I'm sorry about work being so hot - that stinks!!!! I hope it cools off soon:wizard:

Kim - I gotta say, packing stresses me out too ::yes:: It especially did last year when we went on our cruise - formal nights, casual nights, day clothes, evening clothes, day shoes, evening shoes - it all made me do this:headache: But it all worked out, and we had a great time - it'll be that way for you too ::yes:: All I know, is that I can hardly wait to hear all about it when you come home - I've never known anyone to go to something like this before. Have a great great time!!!!!:cool1:

HERSEY - I'll vote for no winter :thumbsup2 Tell me where to go to vote!!:)

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - I have to get Ms. Katie to daycare early today so she can go to the pumpkin patch. I sure hope the weather holds out for her - I"m nervous that it will rain.

Have a good day!!!

Hey! I have been MIA...midterms and such! We did go to Six Flags this weekend. The weather was beautiful, the kids had a great time, but as always, it is nothing compared to WDW! I am spoiled. SF is so crowded, dirty, and had ridiculously long lines. It is just yucky. Oh well.
Anyway, justa drive by. I am leaving tomorrow for my sister's wedding in TN, so I'll be gone until Tuesday. Hope everyone has a nice weekend!
Dgal- Beautiful dress! That ticker will be down to nothing before you know it!
Slo- Maybe it is the rawhide that is making Sophie sick. I ahve heard rawhide isn't so great for some dogs.
ID- Welcome back!
Kim- Have a fun trip!
Tig- I want to get to this nice orchard by us, called Tanner's, but time is running out. Is it sad I really want to go there just for the donuts?:)

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3:

Kim ~ here's some wishes that you have a nice stress-less flight:wizard: :wizard: Can't wait to hear all about it!

Slo ~ glad to hear Sophie is doing better! Hope Katie has a good time at the Pumpkin Patch!

Paint ~ hope your midterms went well! Have fun at your dSis's wedding!

everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Hello to all on this rainy Wednesday.

Slo, hope that your little fur-baby gets better soon!

Kim, have a *wonderful* trip. I know that it can be stressful to do the vacation thing, but I know you will love it once you're there.

Hersey, a late Happy Birthday for Alex. And, count me in as a vote for "NO WINTER". I love, love, love fall, I just wish winter wasn't next in line.

Rose, I am sorry for your loss. Thanks for asking about my sister in law, she is still in treatments, and it's been rough going, but she's a fighter. Thanks for continued prayers.

ID, welcome home!!! Hope to see a trip report, hint, hint!

Tig...you did a GREAT trip report on the trip reports board, I really enjoyed reading it.

Mark & I went up to Door County, WI this past weekend, for the Pumpkin Patch Festival they have up there. The fall colors were absolutely gorgeous. We stayed somewhere new (for us) in Egg Harbor, that was right in a wooded area, and overlooked the Bay, so it was very, very peaceful. Unfortunately, I had a medical problem while there and ended up in the ER for a few hours, but was able to continue our vacation after that. (I have fibroids and have been dealing with various issues for several years with them, and will be following up with my dr this week). Anyway, I recommend a fall vacation to Door County to anyone!!!

Shout outs to all, have a great day!!!

HI all!!

Remember that annoying Eddie Rabbit song from the 80's 'Oh, I love a rainy night'?? Annoying rain, annoying song!!! :rotfl2: I hate this misty kind of rain.

slo I think I remember my mom's vet telling her once that raw hides can be bad for some dogs. :confused3 Maybe Sophie's little stomach can not handle what ever is in them.
We never went to the apple orchard. Instead we did a bunch of running around/shopping, and went to lunch.
Sounds like your trip to the apple orchard was just as much as Benston's pumpkin farm was for us. :sad2:
Hope the packing is going well. I actually enjoy packing! Crazy, I know!!

Hersey I had heard that a lot of the runners dress a little odd. Let's not even discuss the current stock market. I don't even want to know how much we've lost in DH's pension. :scared1: :sad2: :sad1:

disneygal I forgot to say that your dress is beautiful!! ::yes::

piglet Sorry the a/c is out at your store. Hope they can fix it soon.

Donna Hopefully your dr can give you some relief.

Bunch I thought Eddie Rabbit was annoying

Slo Try giving Sophie those digestable bones they are made from baking soda. I can't remember the name of them right now.
