Great photos Slo!! Happy Birthday!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDY!!!
I hope you had a great day today.party: :bday: party:
Work was OK today. It was great when I discovered I had a vacation day tomorrow that I had forgotten I had requested.:lmao: :thumbsup2 Good thing my co-workers asked why I had the day off.:rotfl2: Guess I'll have to come up with something to do. Way back in April, my thought was maybe I could do WDW with a girlfriend to celebrate my birthday!! But that thought got lost when the airfare prices went nuts. I had completely forgotten about the time off though.:cool1:
ID, can't wait to hear about the trip. :grouphug: to your family during this tough time.
Well, quick note. Need to get to bed. Long day.
Later all.

Here are the pictures from the DIS Meet.........
WOW, I know a LOT of you! Still need to DISMeet a few more of you tho! Thanks for the pics Slo, and Sophie is adorable!!! Happy Belated BD also!!!

We are back! We have walked the Red Carpet! We have seen HSM3! :thumbsup2 No spoilers here. I couldn't anyway, I was dozing off now and then during the movie :rolleyes1 - Hey, there's the time difference and all - give this old lady a break, please. FUN TIME tho!!!

I woke up at 4am Thursday morning, followed by Kelly, then DH, we left at 5:15 to pick up niece. Left about 5:35 from their house, arrived at O'Hare at 6 maybe. Checked in, only to find our 1st flight was delayed 1-1/2 hours! That meant our connecting flight was also delayed/changed (but bumped to 1st class - oh well ;) )! PANIC tho! Xanax, thank you. We are now arriving at LAX at 4, for a 6pm premiere!!! :scared1: I almost didn't even leave O'Hare, why bother? We'd never make it. Well, we did what we could, and what we had to (change clothes in Houston's airport bathroom), hire a cab from LAX ($60), instead of taking the free shuttle (1-1/2 hours + from LAX), and made the 6pm premiere check-in time by 15 minutes. From there, we waited. Long story short, the girls LOVED EVERY MINUTE!! And, they LOVED the movie! :thumbsup2 (Mom needed her Xanax tho before we left Chicago! :sad2: )

Lots of freebies, too! Our Guest passes, of course. HSM3 popcorn buckets and drink, pom-poms (sp?), sandwiches from Sara Lee, temporary tatoos (I even got one!), and they 'shot' t-shirts into the audience at various times before and after the movie, and Kelly got one! :yay: It was a long, long, LONG day/night, but well worth it! :woohoo:

We went to Hollywood on Friday, and also enjoyed that day as well! FUN!! Saw a LOT, in a little time. Hollywood & Highland area, Walk of Fame, Graumann's, Kodak and El Capitan Theaters, ate at Mel's Drive In (American Graffiti fame) for lunch, and Disney's Soda Fountain and Store for dinner/dessert. Took a City Pass tour, which included 4 different things - wax museum, Max Factor museum, a walking tour (EXCELLENT!), and a cheesey 2 hour 'Hollywood Homes' tour that, in the end, while the homes could have been ANYONE'S, the tour itself took us up high as close as we could get to the 'HOLLYWOOD' sign, and also through Beverly Hills, Bel Air, down Rodeo & Beverly Drives, through more of Hollywood, etc. - it was just $$ well spent, to see so much in 1 day! :thumbsup2

Way tired - must go! :laundy: to do Sunday!! :rolleyes1

I'd do it all over again, in a heartbeat! :goodvibes

Bye for now!

Kim Glad you all had a great time. I'm glad the Xanax helped you out of a tight spot. I know about the house tour I thought the same thing ;)

WOW was yesterday a great weather day! Today is supposed to be nice too. Maybe we will go for a drive today too our apple place.

Tigg Good thing someone reminded you that you had the day off. Imagine walking in to work

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the birthday wishes!!!!!:goodvibes
I had such a fun night last night. Not only did my BFF come over with her DD, but my neighbor came over with their girls - it was ansolutly great evening with alot of laughs, and alot of food (I had a stomachache when it was all over). We were outside until 11:30pm:)

Today, we are going out to breakfast, taking the girls to the local pumpkin patch, and then tonight we are going to my mom's for pizza and birthday cake :cake: So my birthday just keeps on comin :teeth:

Kim - Oh my....the description of your Thursday makes me do this :faint: I would have been stressed out too ::yes:: I'm glad you had a good time though, and that tour sounds awesome. I want to do something like that when my girls are a little older (Katie more than Stephanie).

Well, I'm going to go get ready for breakfast - bring on the pancakes!!!!!:goodvibes
Have a great day!!!

I had such a nice weekend!!!!!:goodvibes
Yesterday was such a nice day. We went out to breakfast, and then went to the local pumpkin patch, where I took some nice pictures of the girls:) Then we went to my mom's for dinner, which was my favorite pizza and birthday cake:goodvibes We shared some good laughs, and it was just an overall great night!!!!! :teeth:

I can't believe we are leaving at the end of this week - thank goodness!!!!
Even though this weekend has been good, it's also been very weird, with weird things happening. Kevin finally asked me if we are living in the Twighlight Zone - so this weekend can't come fast enough!!!

Mac - Thanks for the listing and for the birthday wish!!!:goodvibes

Well, I must go work off all this pizza and cake that I ate yesterday.
Have a great day today!!!

Morning..

Belated HB SLO..

MAC welcome back.. what did the dr say???

KIm - welcome back.. sounds like you had a bit of a rocky start but I am glad that things worked out and you got to see a lot of stuff..

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I went to see Beverly Hill Chihuahua yesterday! It was hilarious. Any movie with talking dogs is a sure hit for me! I really want to see BOLT when it comes out in November!

Slo ~ Happy Belated Birthday! YAY for your trip being right around the corner! Where are you guys staying?

Kim ~ Glad you had a safe trip and got to see so much in a short period of time!

Everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Hi guys! I was going to say good morning but just realized it's nearly 1p!! Where does the time go?

The weekend went by much too quickly, hate when that happens! DH enjoyed his motorcycle ride but it was colder than he thought it would be. This week thankfully doesn't look like it'll be too busy, at least not yet.

Tiggerrn - how was the day off? Anything fun?
*I've started a trip report over on the TR board but watch out, it is far from short and sweet. I'll try to post a link in my siggie when I figure out how.

Kim - so glad you guys had a great time in California. I would have been majorly stressed with that delay too!!

mac - thanks for the listings, glad to have them back.
*Hope to hear some about your trip, it will be interesting to hear another perspective since we were there at the same time.

slo - I'm glad your weekend was great. Hopefully the wierd Twilight Zone stuff will be gone this week. Have fun preparing and enjoy the time so it doesn't go too quickly.

disneygal - my kids are dying to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua! I'll be away this weekend and DH is thinking of taking them then.

:wave2: to all our other Chicago posters and lurkers!

Have a great day everyone. I have to get a load of laundry in and run to the grocery store before school pick up so I'd best get get going! :flower3:

:goodvibes Thanks all! It was my BD Monday, and I'm still exhausted from those 3 days in L.A./Hollywood! :faint:

For my BD, I woke up late, rushed to get Kelly to school on time, went to work, came home, talked to DSIL for awhile, and napped maybe an hour, then I got dinner together right before Kelly came home for the hour she was home (after a Cross Country party at school and before Band), and my brother stopped by with gift and cards (very nice), and then I took Kelly & a classmate to Band. From there, I went to a wake for my parents next door neighbor, and then I went grocery shopping for my own BD! I wanted a brownie for my BD! Got it. And, got a chocolate chip cookie cake for the rest of them. Lots of emails, too. Nice friends and family. I got a Chicago Cubs Ryan Dempster shirt (his number is 46 - representing my REAL AGE :rolleyes1)

I THOUGHT THIS was the Cubs YEAR - 2008, and wanted a 'marker' with my age, pitcher name & number/age, etc. I got it, but NOT the WS. Oh well. Got a Santo tee as well (#10) and another top for casual/work. Also got a sleep mask, for my afternoon naps, and a Cubs antenna topper, and a Webkinz! Kelly was too cute, and thoughtful with her gifts/ideas!

Thanks again, everyone!
:grouphug:

You weren't the only one thinking this was their year :rolleyes1 Next year right?:worship:

Mac Hopefully you are feeling well.

Hi to everyone :wave2:

I finally turned on the electric blanket last night, and I was SO cozy:goodvibes
I DID NOT want to wake up this morning!!!:sad2:

geffric - Thanks!!!!:goodvibes
*Did you still want me to pick up that CD for you?

DG - Thanks!!!!:goodvibes
*We are staying off property this year at my in-laws timeshare. I wasn't to excited about it in the beginning, but I am now. It's a full condo, so there's 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a family room, veranda, and kitchen. We'll have alot more space, and we'll be able to save our money with eating, because we can eat many breakfasts at the condo. It's extremely close to the entrance to DTD, so we won't be far away either - it'll be great!!!!:thumbsup2

ID - I'm trying to not stress to much about packing. The girls things have been laid out for a week, and I put the first of my things in the suitcase last night. I'll finish packing my clothes tonight, and then tomorrow I will put the girls things in a suitcase. :thumbsup2

Kim - :cake: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM!!!!

HERSEY - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and put some dye in my hair
We don't Mickey to see the greys:laughing:
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Happy Birthday Kim!
Sounds like some real nice gifts.

So, we went apple picking on Sunday, and I managed to get hurt. The wagon that takes you around the place hit a deep rut in the mud, sending me crashing to the floor. My entire leg is bruised and hurts petty bad. Dewain wants me to go to the doctor, but I know that would be a waste of time. It is not lie I broke anything, and there is not much a doctor can do for the bruises.

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I slept so well last night for the first time in a while! However, I still did NOT want to get out of my nice cozy warm bed this morning

Slo ~ I hear ya with the electric blanket thing. I really want to get one but figure if I do, I may never get out of bed again! :lmao: Instead, I pile a bunch of blankets on top of my comforter! :thumbsup2

Kim ~ Happy Belated Bday! Hope you get to relax a bit! I also really wanted it to be the year for the Cubbies. :sad2: There's always next year.... oh man I can't believe I said it. :sad2:

ID ~ I hope your kids like the movie if they get to see it. I took my dad (we both love those kind of movies). He was laughing too! It really was fun!

Ok, so I've made a decision.... I need to break away from my comfort zone (this thread and the weddings board) and explore the DIS a little more. Off to the trip report board I go! Have a wonderful day everyone! :flower3:

Well gang, I finally turned on my furnace this morning - it's cold in here!!! :cold:
Kevin and I said we didn't want to put it on until after vacation, but it was 58 degrees when I woke up :cold: My hands just can't deal with that, and I can't wear gloves inside - that wouldn't work well:sad2:

Question.........
Do any of you feel the need to pack unneccesary food to take on the plane? I do, and I don't know why, but I do. The girls have several snacks (2 of each - one for both ways), and I bought myself some things last night at Walgreens. In the end, we don't eat all of them, but I feel the need to be prepared - weird I know!!!!

piglet - Ouch!!!!!:headache: That wagon was VERY bouncy this year ::yes:: I was glad that I wore a good bra :rotfl2: I hope your leg feels better and the bruise goes away fast:wizard:

DG - How was surfing The DIS??? The DIS places that I visit regularly are Community and Family, and the one I visit once in awhile are Theme Parks, Restaurants, Resorts, WISH, and Photography. I will visit Trip Reports or DIS Meets only if I have a real reason to.

Kim - I meant to ask - was Kelly able to get some good looks at the HSM stars? Were they signing autographs?

Well, I'm off to do some more packing
Have a great day!!!
