Geoff has the car at friends so DH and I are stuck until he comes home.. but then we can walk to Jummy John's and Brother's ribs..and a chinese place so looks like one of those will be it for us.. BTw i am NOT cooking tonight.. i am on strike!!!! LOL..

Hope everyone has a nice weekend..

Hi all!!!

Finally found time to drop in and say HI!!! :)

DS had his class picnic yesterday. It was a lot of fun for the kids. They had all kinds of activities including a bounce jump!
Three more days of school for him and 5 more for DD. Of course she thinks that's totally unfair!!

Going to go see the new Indiana Jones movie this weekend too. :)

I'm soooooo mad at myself. Late last night I went to the grocery store, and upon leaving I proceeded to smash my car into a light pole!!! :sad1: :guilty: :sad2: I don't know if I was over tired, spaced out, lots on my mind, parked in a spot I never park in ever.....but.....I just got in my car, pulled forward and proceeded to put a dent in my front corner panel!!! :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:
DH thinks it's at least $500 in damage! I have to go get an estimate tomorrow. Like I need to spend $500 right now fixing my car!!! :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:
The whole thing just makes me sick to my stomach!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad1:

slo We just got done doing a ton of planting too. Finally finished our landscaping in the front yard.
Wow!! Those furnace guys sure did take a Looooong time! I've never heard of such a thing before! :sad2:

disneygal I've been spacey too lately!! Welcome to the club!! :goodvibes

Sam It's hard to give up the fun stuff in life, but with the way things are going sometimes we have no other choice unfortunately! :sad1:
But like Hersey said, only you can make that choice.

Donna So glad to hear Brian's gf is still doing well!!
That's great to hear Christopher is still loving what he is doing out in NV!!! :thumbsup2

Well, I need to run and finish some laundry.

Have a great night all!!!

And if you head out to the store tonight, watch out for those light poles that jump out in front of you when you least expect it!!!!

I forgot to say...................

paint Congrats on the new job!!! :cool1: Hope you can get out of training! Like you just need one more thing to deal with, right? :teeth:
Can you take a pic of your favors? I'd like to see them, when you get the chance! ;)

bunchkin..........
3.gif

cars can be fixed.
people can't

ok, last night gas in our small town was $4.16.

this morning it was $4.21

i bet by monday it will be up more.....

saw on the news tonight that in some parts of the city of chicago, regular gas is $4.69

I hope the gas prices even out soon. I can not believe this is all "supply and demand" I hope the oil exec sleep well at night pirate:

Bunchy I hate car issues. I heard light poles often suddenly jump out and whack you car when you least expect it. ;) Garage frames do that too.;)

Donna I am glad Brian's GF is continuing to improve  Also glad to hear Christopher still likes his job. I hope Alex finds a closer "dream" when his time comes.

I plan on getting a few plants today. I need a little color in the front of the house.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Yesterday I ended up getting one of my super sugar migraines, and ended up coming home from work at 4pm and laying in bed until 7pm. I then had some cereal for supper, and watched tv until 10pm and then went to bed - not a good Friday night!!!!! :sad2: I ate Frosted Mini Wheats for breakfast, and Kevin definitly believes that that's what did it. The headache did start before 12 noon, and than it got unbelievable worse after I ate my lunch (which was a Lean Cuisene Panini sandwich). I hate having this problem with me, because once the headache starts, there's no stopping it - even pain medications won't help it. It's like having the worse hangover headache after drinking WAY to much:headache: So I guess, I get hungover from sugar :sad1: So annoying!!!!!!!!

Mac - Gas prices make me do this:headache:

Paint - Did you call your new boss yet? What did he say? I don't blame you for wanting to train that day :sad2: That will be to much stress for you!!!!!
**You should definitly have someone come check out that gas leak. We don't want anything to happen to you and your family!!!:grouphug:

MMFan - I can't believe Lowe's was so uncaring about that leak:mad: That would make me mad too!!

ID - Have fun this weekend!!!!! :cool1: I hope the weather stays nice for you.

DG - I love Indiana Jones too, and I can hardly wait to go see it!!!! You'll have to let us know what you think, but don't give anything away ;)

Tigggerrrnnnnnnnnn - My favorite new flower is called Vincas and they are awesome. They sorta look like an Impatient, and they love hot, dry, weather - which is awesome!!!! I plant them in places that are difficult to get a hose to, because they don't like to be watered often. You should give these a try :thumbsup2
**Yes Kevin will be going to Indy tomorrow, to wrap up his whole month of going to Indy every weekend :car: He always loves to see the month come, and he's also very happy to see the month go - it takes alot out of him :faint:

geffric - That's nice that you have places that are walking distance from your house. So, what did you end up having? I always threaten to go on strike, but then I never do :rotfl:

Bunchkin - I am so sorry to hear about the car  I totally understand how upset you feel, since I did something very similar myself (to both our cars:guilty: ). How did Tony take the news of this happening? When I did it to both our cars, Kevin didn't get to upset, because he could see how upset I already was. So many hugs to you my friend!!!

Well, I need to get going and get ready for work
I'm not working out today, because I still have a slight headache, and I don't want to push it into another full blown headache and ruin my day:headache: So I guess I will work out tomorrow, even though Sunday is normally my day off from working out - oh well.

On a quick, positive note about me working out....
I've lost an inch around my waste, and approx 6lbs:woohoo: That makes me very excited!!!!

Have a good day today everyone!!!

Congrats on losing 6 lbs, Slo. That is an amazing acheivement. :worship:

I find that a combo of walking and running with push ups added in works best for me.

Hey guys! What a beautiful day :flower3: .

DD6 had ballet this morning and I walked down to my mom's house to pick up a DVD and walked back. It was perfect!

We're getting packed up to head north, I hope the weather up there is as nice. I looked online last night for stuff to do up there, there's lots going on in Manitowac this weekend so it should be fun.

slo - sorry about the headache, no fun.
*contrats on the 6lbs, I weighed this morning and lost 6lbs so far too :yay: .

Hershey - I agree about the supply and demand thing too. It's getting a bit crazy.
*My garage frame wacked my car too  broke a piece off my side mirror.

Bunchkin - sorry about the car but glad you're OK. I know about those sneaky light poles ;) when I was in my early 20s I was on my way to work, there was a bee in my car and I was trying to shoo it out when all of a sudden a light pole jumped out in front of me :rolleyes1 it clipped the back end of the car and shattered the back window.

Well, I guess I better get the kids stuff together for the weekend. I hope everyone enjoys this great day! DBIL has internet so I'll check in again over the weekend.

I am just loving the weather today!! Only thing was, we had to be in Hoffman Estates by 7am... almost an hour drive for me.. for a baseball tournament. But we got our 2 games in 8am & 10am, so we had the rest of the day to do whatever. We don't play again until tomorrow at 6pm.... hope the weather is just as nice.

Hope all of you have a nice Memorial Day weekend! :flower3:

What a beautiful day today!!! :sunny:

It's going to be another super planting day for me :flower:
I have a flat of impatients, an almost flat of vincas, 9 black-eyed susan vines, and some other things - I just love planting!!!!! :flower2: I'm so glad that I have a great day to be outside!!!!!

Kevin opened the pool up yesterday:cool1: Nothing says winter is over like having the pool cover off!!! For the first time though the pool water is GREEN:eek: and Kevin is not happy!!!! He takes great pride in having clear water when winter is over - not this time!!!!:sad2: So, he'll be working on that tomorrow

Today Kevin is at the Indy 500, and I'm so glad that they have a nice day for it :sunny: He was not in the mood to go back there tomorrow if it got rained out today. I normally try to watch some of the race, but not today - I'm going to be to busy. He always watches it after he comes home, so I will catch some of it then :thumbsup2

Peter - Thanks for the congrats!!!! :goodvibes I'm very happy with the achievement!!!!

ID - Thanks for the congrats, and congrats to you too!!!! :cheer2: How's the weather up north? I'm hoping that you have a great weekend with great weather :wizard:

MMFan - It looks like you'll have a great night for the baseball game tonight :) I hope your sons team has a big win:wizard:

Well, I gotta run and get this day started
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Wow!! Slow day here. Hope that means everyone is out and about enjoying their holiday weekend.
I work tomorrow so to everyone
Happy Memorial Day!!! Enjoy the cookouts, the parades and the fun!!!
Guess I should get out my flags labcoat for work and iron it quick tonight. Time to wear that from now til the 4th of July.
Bunchkin, sorry to hear about your little ouchy!!:sad2: Just glad it was only a dingy and noone was hurt. That is the great fear in getting a new vehicle. You know you are safe in an old beater.:rotfl:
Better run. Clock is ticking and I have a few more things to clean up before I turn in.
Later all.

It feels good to have another day off today :woohoo:

(I just noticed the smiles have changed:headache: I hate it when they do that:furious: )

I still have more planting to do today :flower:
I ran out of dirt yesterday, and I need to go buy more today. I've already gone through 8 bags of dirt - I can't believe it!!!!! I have 5 more pots to plants, and one hanging pot - then I'm done!!!! :yay:

Yesterday after I did alot of planting, and realized I couldn't plant anymore, I decided to trim all the hedges in the back, which is a lot. The trimming is never alot of work, but the picking up all the trimmings is :faint: I'm really sore now today, because I did alot of bending and squatting yesterday. But it feels so good to know that it's all done!!!!!

Tiggggggern - I'm sorry you have to work today:( Hopefully it won't be to busy:wizard:

Mac - Thanks for the listings!!!!

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I'm off to think about making some breakfast
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Hi, all! Another drive by for me! The manager was fine with me not doing training. He said to give him a call the week after. I got all of my favors done and wanted to start on the arch yesterday but there weren't any directions or hardware in it! It said so on the box, but it wasn't in there! So, I have to go exchange that today and then give it another go. Later in the week iwill work on the cookie pops. right now, my house is a disaster. A wedding/craft store threw up in my dining room. I'll have to do some big time cleaning this week, too!
slo- Dfiance startes some planting yesterday. He was trying to add some bushes to an existing bed and kept hitting cement. We thought there was a foundation undr it. Turns out it was a bunch of paving blocks. So, needless to say his simple planting project turned into so much more!
tig- I is supposed to tstorm by us today, so maybe you won't miss much!
bunchkin- Oh, there will be pics...many, many pics!

Hi Everyone! Long time, no see!

Did any of you hear those ferocious storms last night? Yikes, they were something..

Nice here now, but pretty overcast so I suppose more rain is on the way. Hoping to get some sorting done in the basement later. Have to pack up some stuff and get organized there.

Slo, I know what those green pools are like as I had one for years. In this house we have a pool for the whole subdivision so we have not put one in ourselves.

We have food leftover from yesterday's birthday party barbeque that we had for my mother and sister. Tomorrow will be one of the busiest days at work for me, so I am also taking it easy today.

Happy holiday everyone!

Carol I agree about the storms last night. I am glad I was able to sleep in a little this morning.

We just had a brief down pour. My poor cat was napping in the sun by the back door. Needless to say he is a little soggy right now.:rotfl:

Slo I too am not amused by the moving smilies. Why do they have to move around?

Paint Wow you wedding is getting close. I hope you are having help getting everything organized. I would like a picture of your wedding cookies ::yes::

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday.

Wow, what a weekend! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday. We spent the weekend at BILs cabin in Wisconsin. I'll confess I wasn't too excited about the trip, see they were forecasting rain the whole time while the forecast for here was for sun. When we got there we were greeted by swarms of gigantic mosquitoes around the cabin  . Then after putting the kids to bed DH missed the last step on the stairs and fell, hurting his back. I had a bad feeling for the rest of the weekend :worried: . Thankfully it got better :) . Saturday started out overcast and chilly, we went to a horse show and then the Maritime Museum where we got to tour a WWII sub, by mid-day it was sunny and warmer. Today was beautiful, we were suprised by the temps even when we got home. Saw no rain the whole weekend, guess we were lucky.

slo - sorry to hear about the green pool, hope DH was able to get it back in shape.
*I hear ya on the moving smilies, so frustrating.

paint - glad to hear you won't have to worry about training the day before your wedding. Hope everything goes well this week with the rest of your prep.

CarolAnn - hope your day tomorrow won't be too bad.

DS is supposed to have his class picnic tomorrow - maybe not since Tom Skilling is forecasting rain :sad2: . Really hoping the storms for Fri will disappear from the forecast too, DD6's picnic is that day. We'll have to do it in the gym if that is the case, not as much fun as the park.

Well, I've got to go and get things ready for school. It's always so hard to go back after the holiday weekend. I wish they were out now, I'd be willing to go back earlier in Aug if they could just be done before the holiday.

I had another wonderful, productive day yesterday!!!!! :cool1:
I finally finished all my planting:woohoo: and then with the time leftover I was able to start cleaning up the girls playarea. It had tons of leaves in there from the winter and many sticks from the awful tree that's in that area too. It always feels so good to get stuff done!!!!

Now that all the planting is done, I'm a little nervous about the weather today. The news just said patchy frost  I have so much planted, that's scattered all over the front and back yard, that I don't think I have enough covers to cover it all:( I don't know what I'm going to do  I better figure something out, because I didn't break my back planting all this stuff, to have it die from frost:worried: .

Oh...I also made my ADR's for our trip coming up  I didn't make as many as normal, since we are staying in the condo, and we'll have our own kitchen for breakfast (this will save us some money :woohoo: ).
Monday,MK Day - breakfast at Chef Mickeys, dinner at Kona Cafe
Tuesday, MNSHHP night - dinner at LTT
Wed, Hollywood Studios day - dinner at Sci-Fi
Thur, Epcot day - breakfast at Kona Cafe, dinner at Garden Grill
The other days we are there we are going to eat outside of the WDW or at the condo. It's weird to have such little ADR's, but like I said, it will save us a lot of money:thumbsup2

paint - What a pain that your DF had to dig all those blocks up :headache: I wonder why the previous owners buried them:confused:

Carol Ann - So good to see you!!!!! :goodvibes We had no big storms here in Indiana, which is good, because it freaks the girls out :scared1:

HERSEY - I have no idea why the Webmasters move them around. There have been so many threads by people complaining about moving smilies throughout the years, that you would think they would leave them alone.

ID - Kevin was able to get the pool back in shape, and it looks great having it open. It really says that winter is over :)
**I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your DH :( I hope his back feels better soon:wizard:

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I"m must get going and workout. I'm staying inside today, because I don't feel like going out in the cold and especially the wind :cold: It's frustrating that the last 2 days gave the girls and I tons of sunburn on our arms, and today I have to bring out my leather coat:headache: The joys of weather in the Chicago area.

Have a good day today everyone!!!

Happy Tuesday all.

I Hope everyone's Memorial Weekend was relaxing.

We are still dealing with issues with Step-mother/step-grandmother. Her birthday was yesterday, my DD knew and was upset because she could not see or talk to her. I am trying to explain to her that she is busy or not feeling well but she wants to see her and misses her so much.

DS is still quite upset and was telling her she doesn't have that grandma anymore so DD is starting to believe it since she hasn't seen her in weeks. I talked to DS and he has stopped saying that around her but I think they are both upset regarding all the events.

:hyper: we are 3 days away from our first Disneyland trip. I am getting so nervous. I have finished our first day t-shirts and attempted to design backpacks for the kids. They like them so I guess it's ok.:lmao:

We leave at 3:30 Friday morning for Ohare and land at LAX at 8:30. I'm tired just thinking about it.

Macraven- thank you as always for the listings. I have already set the DVR for the food network and pixar show. I would have missed them otherwise.

CarolAnn- I get freaked out myself with storms. When I was a little girl, one of my friends houses was struck by lighting and burned to the ground. Ever since I can't sleep and my nerves are high during a storm.

Paintnolish- Wedding coming up so soon. I hope all goes well and the weather stays nice.

Slo- congrats on finishing your planting. I'm sure it looks great. I hope the frost stays away.

Your ADR's look great. Chef Mickey's is one of our favorites. How is the Kona Cafe for dinner? I have had breakfast there before and it was good.

I need to start getting ready for work. Only 3 days of work to go.
Have a great day:thumbsup2

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: wow, my smilies are all in a different order...:confused3 can't find some of the ones i normally use so good thing i pay attention to their typed out codes! hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! i did, it was a fairly relaxing and fun weekend (except sunday when i did homework all day). saw Indiana Jones yesterday! I liked it alot! Last Crusade is still my fave but this one was good! alot of action and all the stuff that makes Indy fabulous!:thumbsup2 i think i decided on colors for the wedding. i have been going back and forth and just decided on this... i'll pick out 2 or 3 dresses and have the girls pick either pink... (it wouldn't be so magenta-y more like a watermelon color) Green...(like a bright grassy green), or purple... This is a nice bright purple so hopefully something like this. I am kind of hoping my sisters who are co-matron of honors, will pick green, mike's sister will pick pink, and my friend ashley will pick purple... i want to do bright colors b/c they are more my personality than pastels and b/c we are doing spring i didn't want to do anything dark! what do you think? too many?
