Hi everyone!

Not doing well here. Still feeling sick...again. And this allergic reaction I've been having since eating that pizza is not going away!!!

Felt the earthquake! Not my first. When we lived in Las Vegas we got a pretty good shaking from an earthquake that happened in California.
And I felt the other tremor at 10:15am.
DH didn't feel either!!!! And yeah, I think he felt jipped too!!

irish damcer Hope the sleepover goes well.

slo Don't worry too much about what might be going on with you.
Yes, we have HBO. This series on John Adams is great. It's produced by Tom Hanks.
And I think we will be making reservations for Williamsburg next weekend!! Lauren and TOny are very excited too. We are keeping it a secret from Hunter though. He knows we are taking him somewhere for his b-day, he just doesn't know the "where"!! :goodvibes He's always said that the rest of us have gotten to celebrate our birthday's out of town except for him. So now it's his turn! :)

Becky A cruise sounds fun!!!
Sorry to hear the cost of cheerleading is high!

piglet Hope you're feeling better and can get into the doctor's soon!

What happened to our warm weather? It has gotten pretty chilly.

Bunchkin Maybe it's time fora a trip to the doctor. Sorry to sound like a mother hen.

Bunchkin- wouldn't a reaction be gone by now? Have you tried Benadryl?
Piglet- How are you feeling?
Hersey- Dfiance felt the earthquake, too. I feel cheated I didn't feel it! I didn't feel the aftershock, either. Oh well!
momto- DD woke me at 4 a.m. to tell me the tooth fairy DID find her! Okay. Go back to bed!
ID- Sleepovers! Gotta' love 'em! Last time dd wouldn't stop talking. She told me she couldn't fall asleep. I told her to stop moving her mouth and she would.
Moms of dds, especially around 6/7/8 years old...do they ever stop talking?!? By the end of the day, I am about to go over the edge sometimes. She has no inner monologue. Whatever goes through her head comes out her mouth.

Well, tonight Dfiance's parents and my parents met and we all went to dinner. It went really well. Both of our dads are talkers, so there were no awkward silences.
Tomorrow is the bridal shower. We've been "cheating" and checking our registries online. We know what we are getting for the most part. Unfortunately, though, not one person has contributed to the honeymoon registry!
Better get some sleep before tomorrow. i need to do a little cleaning in the morning before company comes by before we go to the shower!

It's wonderful to wake up to sunlight :sunny:
It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day!!!

HERSEY - It did get pretty chilly last night, and foggy. The girls and I went for a walk (they rode their bikes) and it kept getting foggier and foggier (and chillier). Katie finally said to me, "this is spooky!" and she actually seemed a little scared. It was cute, but I assured her it was okay. I can understand her concern - it's not every day that we go for a walk in the foggy dark (it was 8pm when we finished).

Mac - :wave2:

ID - I"m sorry to hear of your DD's track meet being so cold and wet :guilty: I do believe that it builds character though, so it's not a bad thing. I guess I believe that because when I was in band, we were out marching in the cold, wet, heat, and I do believe that it built a lot of character within myself - we were a tough bunch of kids!!! Congrats to them on being 3rd and 4th - that's great!!! :cheer2:

piglet - How are you feeling? How did your party go last night?

Bunchkin - I am so sorry that you are still not feeling well  I agree with Janice, it might be time to go to the doctor. I hope you feel better soon, and I'll send mountains of get well PD your way!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
**You are so lucky to have HBO, so you can see that show. We cancelled ours before Christmas, because we weren't watching it enough to pay for it - now I"m regretting it!!
**Have fun planning your trip - I love planning!!!
**Thank you for your hugs, but I am truly not worried (I know that probably sounds weird). I have felt so good this week, that it's been very easy to deal with whatever is going on. Even if these tests come back negative for diabetes (which would be great) there's something in sugar that's giving me migraine headaches (I can say migraines, because they make me very nautious). So, I think my excessive sugar days are gone, which is a bummer, but I like not having the headaches, so I'll deal with it!!! :thumbsup2

paint - Have fun at your bridal shower today!!! I hope you get lots and lots of wonderful gifts:goodvibes Please tell us all about it later!!!

Well, I gotta run and go dye my hair this morning. I gotta get the greys masked before next weekend:laughing: Have a good day today!!

Hello!
Not feeling any better, so I am off to the MinuteClinic at CVS in a bit.

Bunchkin ~ Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Paint ~ I would love to hear about your shower later, have fun today.

The benefit went great. I was able to donate $48 from my sales, plus another $152 on a couple of items we won at the silent auction. (I do need to double check my math, because I was really hoping to give more) From what I understand, the benefit raised a pretty nice amount for the family. Yesterday was such a sad day though since it was his visitation and service.

Morning! We are all dressed up with no place to go...yet! I just told the kids to sit still and watch t.v.They are too nicely groomed to do much else! I don't know if I can eat at the shower. I am still too full from last night. I had a creme brulee sampler. Oh, who am I kidding...I'll force more food down!

Piglet- Hope you get that UTI cleared up. Don't know how you made it this long!
Slo- Have fun with the hair dye! I usually wear my hair up and curly, but I blew it straight for this weekend. the bad thing is it exposes all my grey! I had to do a little plucking!

Somebody actually put $50 on our Honeymoon Registry! Woo! Only $1700 more to go!:lmao:
Ooh, we might have our first visitor! A bunch of people are stopping by before the shower to see our house!
Have a good day!

afternoon chicagoland homies.

this will be a busy week for me.
going to take it all off from work to tend to family issues.

microwave died this morning before i went to church.
need to find a new one and find someone to install it for me.

the one we have was designed around the cabinets we had put in when we redid the kitchen.

roof leaks......need to find a roofer

windows on their last legs.......need to replace all the windows in the entire house......find someone for that.

there's more but not gonna bore you with it.

mt carmel had some damage.
i will be going there this week. picking up my parents during the week and then staying at mt carmel for a relatives burial.

it's a sad time but the only time most of the family is able to get together if you know what i mean.

i'll let you know before i leave.

if anyone has suggestions on roofers, window places and people, give me a holler
i'm entering into this task blindly.

So.... I started back on page one..... and actually read through page 5 before I said that there was no waaaaaay I could read through 58+ pages to catch up.

So I skipped.

I'm Julia. I'm 30. Live in Caledonia--- which is next to Rockford, originally from Belvidere. DD is turning 5 on May 4th. DStepSon is 6-1/2. Hubster & I have been together since he was born. Short/Long story -- good for another day.

It's gorgeous outside and I have a friggin' killer sore throat and am so tired. I need to ignore it and go buy groceries and clean out the car and clean the house. But I've been laying here in agony for two hours.

Thank heavens my brother and his wife happen to be over doing yard work (we rent their future retirement home- another short/long story) and my niece is keeping DD busy outside.

Ugh. I feel awful. I'm a medical assistant in Internal Medicine and I've been dealing with disgustingly germy, virus-y, flu-filled people all winter and I have to get sick when it's 70 out?

:sad2:

DH is at a motorcycle swap meet in Woodstock w/his besty. (lol- think 'bromance')

Anyway- I'm just jumping right in here.

Hi!:scared:

Welcome Julia! I am Kirsten and been married to Dewain for almost 14 years. Our kids are Kevin (13), Nathan (9) and Lauren (5, b-day next month) and we live in the far southern 'burbs. I work part-time at Yankee Candle as well as being a consultant for Tastefully Simple.

:welcome: :welcome:
julezdisney.

glad you stopped by.

we are a friendly bunch here, be sure to stay with us.

Hours later.....

all I have done.... is chase the dog back into the house....

and made a grilled cheese for Rach.:snooty:

I'm going grocerie shopping.....:guilty: taking DD to a '5 buck club' movie....popcorn::

and saying screw the housework...... it'll 'keep'. :laundy:

I'm calling in tommorow. That's what all my EARNED personal hours are for. And one of the doc's isn't in anyway so I won't be leaving anyone in a bind....

Thank you for welcoming me! It means a lot. Now I'm going to enjoy the day. Well- with a sore throat and tired..... and all around yucky. Dang it's nice out. :flower3:

What a beautiful day we had yesterday!!!!:goodvibes
Me and the girls spent it by going to see my mom at her AKC Dog Trial (she belongs to a dog club, and they put this on - it was really cool to see), shopping for new clothes for Stephanie (the poor thing didn't own a single capri, because Katie now owns them), and then went to Sam's Club (of which I need to go back, because I forgot Katie's Macaroni and Cheese, which was the main reason for going). When we came home, the girls were able to play outside, which was really nice - they love being outside!!!!!:cool1:

piglet - I'm sorry to hear your not feeling any better :guilty: What happened at the clinic? Do you have a UTI like you thought? I'll send you more PD so you can feel better soon!!! :wizard: :wizard:
**I'm glad the benefit went well - that's good news!!!! :woohoo:

paint - How did the shower go?? Inquiring minds need to know!!! :teeth:

Mac - I'm sorry to hear of all the issues going on at your home:guilty: Replacing one thing is a pain, but replacing it all at the same time is :headache: :headache: I wished you lived by me, because I would have many suggestions for you, but I doubt they would go up where you live (I can ask my window guy, when I talk to him, if he knows any good companies up by you). I"m also to hear about a relative passing away - that's sad too :guilty: Many hugs to you   and good luck with everything:wizard: :wizard:

julez (I hope you don't mind, I shortened your name) - :welcome:
I'm so glad you came by here, and introduced yourself!!! :goodvibes We are awesome bunch of people, and we would love to get to know you better. Please come by often!!!
**A small intro about me....
My name is Sandy, I have 2 girls 9 & 4, my DH is an engineer and volunteer fireman and EMT in our town, and we've been married almost 13 years. I own a custom picture framing store in my town, and this is where I spend most of my time.
**I'm sorry you don't feel well :guilty: I'll send load of get well PD your way, to help you feel better really soon :wizard: :wizard: I hope your day off work today helps

Bunchkin - How are you feeling today???

Well, I gotta get going so I can go do my walk this morning
Have a good day today everyone - it's going to be another nice one :sunny:

Morning! Shower was fun (for me, at least, you know how it is to attend them). The food was so good (chick. parm., mostaccioli, salad, and bread, followed by cake). I got to see lots of people I hadn't seen for awhile. Our cake was awesome! It was lime green, pink, and brown, with stripes and paisley. The description doesn't do it justice. Dfiance gave me my wedding gift then because he couldn't wait. His and hers mugs and a diamond pendant! I was really suprised since I asked what price range my wedding gift was and he said around $60. I think he lied!
Julez- Hi and welcome! Tracy here, full time student (Highschool Eng.), waitress, mom to ds (8) and dd (almost 7), and planning a wedding. Need I mention I am exhausted!?!
Slo- My darling sister noticed my greys yesterday! She'll get hers soon enough. She's only 20, though! Also, what breed does your mom have? We've been thinking of getting another dog. We have a 9 year old sheltie now.
mac- Good luck with the home "improvements." We have a home warranty and we called them out to fix a leaky toilet. Well, they decided it isn't the toilet. It is this lead pipe that goes from the toilet upstairs to the basement. It is old and cracked, only they don't know where. They will start hacking holes down the wall, starting upstairs, until they find the leak. Almost everything, aside from the repainting, will be covered, but it is a pretty good chance my house will be a disaster for a few weeks!

For those who remember, I HATE my Spanish class. It is almost over, though, but today we are having a quiz to replace our lowest grade, only I don't think this one will be much better. I don't need PD. I need a Spanish speaking TInkerbell to actually go take the test for me.:rotfl2:

MORNING..Just a quick hi... then back to work..

Bunchy - how are u today? Gonna go to the DR?

MAC - i have a window guy.. I'll email from his info when i get home..

Bunchkin ~ Feeling any better today?

Mac ~ Sorry to hear about the house woes

Paint ~ sounds like the shower went well. What size dog are you looking for?

Slo ~ oh yeah, I was supposed to go to the clinic. Well, Dewian wanted to take the boys fishing, and since we are down to one car, I had no way of going. I still hurt, so will get there today before I go to work. Someone asked how I could stand it, well, not very well. I was near tears last night from the pain, and almost took a Vicodin it was so bad.

Hey all. I had a post all typed up. What is going on with this thread. I was logged in and now it says no priveleges? And it logs me off every time. I don't get it.
Any way, long story short,
Hope Bunchkin, Slo and Piglet feel better.
Thanks for the listings Mac. Missed Fridays new show. Glad to see it will repeat Wed.
Hope your home repairs go easy on your wallet.
Earthquake?? DH woke me up after many late nights, early mornings and I thought he'd gone off the deep end. Only to find out on the news, he was right. :worship: Still told him not to wake me unless the house was falling.
Paint, glad to hear you had a nice shower.
Hope the vacationers are having a nice time.
Off to take the dog out for a walk.
Later

hey chicagoland homies.

i bet it is a lot warmer where you are then where i am.......

lake always keeps our temps down.
yesterday our high was 51.

i was green with envy hearing about the 70's you all had.

think i am leaving on wednesday afternoon for my funeral trip.
mt carmel had their 15th after shock this morning of 4.5 or 4.2 forget which one.

i'm sure they won't be anymore after today.

hope you all are doing well.

time for me to hit the :laundy: now

Hi gang! Just got back to work from a meeting at the Sears Tower. The view is always awesome but the lake was a bit hazy today.

Slo, Bunchkin and Piglet - Feel better soon! Take care of what ails 'ya!

Piglet - Do you by any chance work at the Yankee Store in the Joliet Mall? If so, I will stop by and say hi!

mac - good luck on the house repairs. No fun! We recently had some type of small animal in an inner wall for about 3 days. No idea where it came from or where it went but we were worried we were going to have to take the wall apart!

Paint - sounds like the shower went great! Do you have all the presents put away yet? We are always thinking about getting another dog. We only have one right now but were a 2 dog family for a long time. Our last dog was a coon hound - she was awesome! I really want another coon hound but we keep looking at the Humane Society. The right dog will come along sometime.

Welome Julez! Stop by often

DS baseball team did horrid in their tournmanet this weekend. They had no defense! Needless to say, I know what they will be working on at practice toinght!

Better get back to work!
