Greetings..

Bunchkin nowhere near Hersey's.. in suburban Philly visiting with SAP.

paintnolish RSVPing for the kids that were not invited is IMHO tacky.. why does she think that her kids are invited and not others???

I am in a walking thing from my new office starting tomorrow. We are in teams and will count our steps and then record the team steps on a weekly basis.. the team with the most steps will win a dinner at their fav place.. I forgot the pedometer on the trip, so I guess I'll start friday when im am back.. I hope to loose some weight with the increased walking..

Ooo Ooo... my tag got updated from 'earning my ears' to 'Mouseketeer' sorry i was excited to see that! i'm done now! :) just wanted to share my happiness!

Slo~ i see you are Tonga Toast junkie? i've never had tonga toast and would like to try it... any reccommendations?

congrats on the upgrade of your tag.
you wear it well.

tonga toast........ugh for me.
i know, i'm in a minority on this one.

:surfweb:

It looks very windy outside, which is a bummer, because I wanted to go outside and walk this morning. But I hate wind, so I guess I'm working out indoors today

We finalized plans yesterday to get new windows and siding on our house. I'm really excited, because we have cedar siding, and I'm so tired of the boxelder bugs and the woodpeckers that come every spring and summer:headache: (well, the woodpeckers happen all spring through fall). The windows are going to be great, because we have some that have broken seals, and I hate how they look. It's always fun to get home improvements!!!

paint - I'll ask Kevin if they dive that late, but I don't think so :sad2:
**I understand your frustration with people not RSVPing, because I'm having that same issue with Stephanie's First Communion:headache: . I'm going to need to call people this weekend to ask them if they are coming or not - I need to give my final count on Monday.
**I can't get over the person that is bringing their uninvited children - how rude!!!! My wedding was an adult wedding also, so I can also understand your feelings on this ::yes::

piglet - That's awesome about the free ipod  Thanks for mentioning audiobooks - I will have to look into that :thumbsup2

DG - You leave tomorrow!!!! :cool1: If I"m not back on today, have a wonderful safe trip!!! I can hardly wait to hear all about it!!!
**Congrats on becomming a Mousekeeter :woohoo:
**Tonga Toast is one of my personal favorites on property :goodvibes You can only get it at The Poly, and they serve it at either Captain Cooks (their counter service downstairs in the Great Ceremonial House) and The Kona Cafe. Price wise, it is cheaper at Captain Cooks, and you get the same portion that you get at The Kona Cafe. The difference is at The Kona if served on a normal plate, and at Captain Cooks, it's served on a styrofoam plate (no frills). Give it a try - I hope you like it!!! :goodvibes

Bunchkin - Isn't satellite radio awesome?!?! I have XM in my car and in the store - I would have a hard time without it. I love no commercials, and I love many of the channels:)
**Stephanie's really digging my ipod too ::yes:: She now wants and ipod Nano for her birthday, but I told her no way, unless she can prove to me that she can take care of it. So she cleaned 1/2 of her room yesterday, and put many things away (she only had time for 1/2). I told her that I'm keeping a log everyday on how she is doing, and cleaning her room once isn't going to cut it - it has to be a life change for her, and she needs to do it everyday. So, we'll see what happens. If she does change her ways, and keep her room clean, and take care of things better, than we'll get it, but if she doesn't - no way!!!:sad2:
**How are you feeling???

Tigggggernnnnnnnnnnnn - I do feel the ipod Tunes Store is easy to use, and Kellie can probably do it herself, after learning how. What's nice, is whenever there's an "explicit" song, they note that next to the song - that's nice for us parents :thumbsup2 The songs are $0.99 each, videos are approx $1.99each, movie rentals are approx. $3.99 each, and albums and movies vary. I've only downloaded songs, and nothing else at this point. I will do movies before vacation, so I have something to watch on the plane :thumbsup2

Leigh - I love Maggianos ravioli too!!! :goodvibes I normally get that with the Fettucinni  You should see the server when I order that - I've had some that told me there's no way I can eat all that. I always tell them that I know, and I'm ordering with the intent to take home - I just love them both so much, that I can't pick just one:)

geffric - Good luck with your walking thing :wizard: I actually just joined the Biggest Loser thing on the WISH board, so we'll have to keep each other motiviated. I have a padometer also, and I really need to get it out and start using it - I'm curious on my walking days, how many steps I take.

Mac - You don't like Tonga Toast:eek: :scared1: Just kidding!!!

Well, I gotta run and get my workout started
Have a good day today everyone!!!

I love Maggiano's too! The bruschetta is awesome and the apple desert thing. OMG! This is where Dewain's company party was this year, so good.

Slo ~ The audiobooks can get pricy, but we either borrow them from the library to upload (yeah I know we should not do it that way) or just buy a hard copy of it ourselves and then upload it. Dewain really likes to listen to Harry Potter while on the road, so we have those.

Good Beautiful Morning Everyone!!:flower3: i think we can safely say IT'S SPRING!!!! :cool1: so in less than 24 hours I will be on my way to the happiest place on earth and i'm not packed:scared1:! my oh my, i can't believe it. i've been talking about packing for the past two months and planned to be done weeks ago but low and behold things just got in the way  i pretty much have everything organized though just need to throw it in the suitcase. my dad decided to give us a ride to the airport after all. he doesn't have to be at work until later so it all works out! mike is dropping off his luggage tonight so we can load it in the car and save time in the morning! i'm so so so sooooooo excited! (if you haven't noticed)

Slo ~ thanks for the info on the Tonga Toast. I am definitely going to try and get over to the Poly to try some!

Hope everyone enjoys this beautiful day! I will try and get on tomorrow morning before I leave but if not have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you next week!!

Morning!! :wave2:

Here's a warning to those who get Market Day.......
DH and I had the Margahrita Pizza for lunch yesterday, which tasted really good, and I ended up getting some strange reaction in my skin from it!!!!
My skin is splotchy red, like I have the beginnings of a sun burn happening!! It's not itchy or anything, just funky red splotches!!! :confused3

Not too sure what I should do about it? I took a Benadryl yesterday and all it did was make me really sleepy!

slo I'm feeling better, other than the red splotchy thing going on I mentioned above! :confused3
I'll admit I've never tried the Tonga Toast!! But that's because I'm allergic to bananas!!!
I bet your house will look great after all the improvements are done!! :thumbsup2

disneygal That's nice of your dad to drive you to the airport!! Hope you get all your packing done on time!!! And you ARE allowed to get excited!! Have a great trip!!

Leigh Well, next tax year should be even a little better for you since you'll have property taxes added to the fun!!

geffric The walking teams/contest sounds great!! :)

bunchkin ~ We got that stuff, it is still sitting in the freezer. Doubt we will eat it anyways, but thanks for the heads up.

Leigh - I love Maggianos ravioli too!!! :goodvibes I normally get that with the Fettucinni  You should see the server when I order that - I've had some that told me there's no way I can eat all that. I had the ravioli left over last night and it was still good! With l-o fettucinni I usually have problems with it getting really buttery when I heat it up (I just do it with the microwave; I don't want to bother with the oven). But I didn't get much of that with this, even though it was pesto alfredo. It did really well, much better than I thought it would. :thumbsup2

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I've usually gone to the Maggiano's at Oak Brook, but now there's a new one, which is just south of 88 and west of Naper Blvd in Naperville. It's on a road called Freedom Dr. which is off of Diehl Rd. There's a Morton's Steakhouse there, too. There was more room at this one than they have at Oak Brook. So this might be closer for some of you. :goodvibes

I got an iPod last year, and I really like it. I have over 800 songs on mine already (most are from my CDs). My parents gave me an iTunes gift card for Christmas, and I'm still using that to buy something. I love being able to get any song I think of. Before, it was a drag when you would want one song from a CD, and you either had to buy the whole CD just for that song or do without. Now this solves that problem.

My friend's little girl wants an MP3 player for her 8th birthday/First Communion next month, and I'm probably going to get her one. But I need to decide if I'll go with a cheapy one (which is still $20-$30) or get an iPod Shuffle, which is probably much better. I need to ask her mom what she thinks she can handle.

Oh, and they came and visited weekend before last, and I was introduced to the world of Webkinz. :rotfl: She wanted to play it on my laptop, so I saw her little world (and played Polar Plunge :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: ). She has a pink poodle (which she brought to my house), a horse, and a frog.

They stayed for 4 nights. It was kind of crazy at my house! :dance3: princess: pirate: pirate: :goodvibes

H gang!

Disneygal - Are you packed yet? I will come and pack you up if I can go to? I won't be a bother - really! Have a blast!

Slo - I know what you mean about the woodpeckers and cedar siding. It seems like our friend always comes back on a Saturday morning when I am trying to get in a few more winks.

Tomorrow is ds first track meet. He signed up to do the 100 meter dash, the 1600 meter, the hurdles and the triple jump. I guess they get to choose their events for the first meet and then the coaches help them select after that - I guess after they see how they do. He should do good at the 1600 as he runs cross country. I didn't know he could jump, though. We will see what happens!

I MIGHT leave work a little early today to try to enjoy this nice day!
Lori

Lori ~ Kevin (my DS13) finally had his first meet yesterday. He ran in the 100m (not good because he just can't get out of the blocks well) and the 4x400m, in which he was first for his leg. They also have him running the 800, but I don't know how he did. He runs CC too. How old is your DS??

Jon is 11. I forgot that he is running the 4x400, too, with some of the CC guys. I don't think he will do well on the 100. It takes him a while to get those long legs moving. Good luck to your son in the coming meets!

I just made ADR's for the Sept. trip. I have Whispering Canyon for lunch on 9/27. I could have had any time I wanted! Maybe they won't be too busy? Then we are the doing the Traditional Tea at the Grand Floridian on 9/30 at 4:40 pm. The times were more limited there unlike last year when I got exactly the time I wanted!

Hi guys! Wow, what a day! Met my girlfriend for lunch at Oakbrook and then a little shopping. She is taking her first WDW trip w/her family in a few weeks. She is Disney obsessed like any true veteran :lmao: . She was even asking me questions on DVC.

Well, I've kept up my 5:30am walking but it hasn't gotten any easier yet ;) . Going to head out to REI to get a pedometer just to see what my 4mi adds up to.

DD11 just started track this week and has her first meet this weekend. I think she's doing javelin :confused3 , maybe long jump and a relay I think. It should be an interesting morning I just wish she didn't have to be there at 7:45am on a Saturday :rotfl: . I wish the weather forecast was better, it'll be a real drag to hang around in the rain  .

Disneygal - have a GREAT trip!! Try not to stress too much over the packing, as my DH always tells me "we're not going to the middle of nowhere, you can get whatever you forgot when we get there" .

Leigh - welcome to the world of Webkinz. My DDs are both into them but DD6 is big time into them, she's even bought a couple with her own money because mean old mom said no ;) .

Wow, I'm sitting my my picture window in our living room and it sounds like we're going to get blown away - yikes!

Have a great night everyone!

Disneygal Have a great trip!

Leigh Careful with those webkinz, some of them a pretty cute.

I am going to watch my recordings of Boston Legal.

Bunchkin Sounds like you are allergic to something. I hope you are getting better.

Hi to all :yay:

Does anyone know how long the Cinnabon has been in the Fox Valley Mall? I hadn't been there a long time and just noticed yesterday. Honestly, it probably made my day! (How sad is that?) Oh, delicious Cinnabon, how you live to sabotage my diet!

:surfweb:

This morning I'm going to the doctor to discuss with him about me being hyperglycemic. Kevin and I are very convinced that I am, so I will need to get some bloodwork done to prove it (so I'm fasting this morning). The last couple of weeks I was feeling absolutly terrible (I never mentioned it on here) - like total garbage!!!!! After retracing my steps, I felt the worst after I ate a lot of sugars - which was very often. I looked up hyperglycemia online, and it described many of my symptoms. So starting Monday morning, I cut out almost all sugars, and I've been feeling awesome this week - like a new person!!!! Now I'm scared to death to ingest anything sugary, because the afteraffects are awful. So we'll see what happens at the doctor today - wish me luck!!!!

piglet - Thanks for the library idea - I think I will give it a try :)

DG - Bye!!! :wave2: Have a wonderful, safe trip!!!! :cool1:

Bunchkin - How are your spots today? I wonder what caused them? Did they look like a hive? I wonder if there's something in that pizza that you are allergic to  I feel so bad for you - you can't catch a break

Leigh - Webkinz are huge with kids these days:) . I, truthfully, have no idea how many Stephanie has - she's obsessed!!!!! But I don't mind, I think they are great fun for little kids!! :thumbsup2

momto1 - How did your son do with the hurdles? I hope he did well :)

geffric - Are you home yet?

ID - I really need to use my pedometer too ::yes:: The last 2 days I've done 2 miles in 15 minutes, which makes me very happy - that's a 15 minute mile :thumbsup2 (I said I wasn't going to walk outside yesterday, with all the wind, but I changed me mind and did anyway) My shins are really paying the price though - they are very very sore!!!! How are you feeling? Are you feeling sore with all the walking?

HERSEY - :wave2:

frogggygrrl - Hi there!!! :wave2: Good to see you again!!!

Well, I'm off to get ready for the doctor - I need to be there early
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Morning everyone!

Slo ~ I don't know much about that, can medication help or do you just have to avoid sugars? Good luck at the doctor's :wizard:

Leigh ~ My two younger ones LOVE their Webkinz. Nathan has 8 real ones (1 is a virtual one from a pack of trading cards) and Lauren has 7. Kevin (DS13) even has two and I have one. We all love playing the games and it is quite fun. Nathan and Lauren really love stuffed animals, so it is a nice "double" gift when they get one.

Don't you hate it when it is your day to sleep in and you wake up early feeling  It is just my stomach, but man is it queasy this morning.

Morning all!

slo - so sorry to hear you've been under the weather. I'm not familiar with hyperglycemia, what is the treatment?
*I am a little sore from the walking. The shins were the first few days now it is just a general overall ache. We do a 15min mile too, we do 4mi in an hour.

piglet - that is crummy, I hope you feel better soon. My DDs rarely play with the stuffed animals, once they get the code the animal ends up on the shelf. Sometimes I wish they'd sell just the code so I would have one less stuffed animal in this house, they're taking over :rotfl: . They are very cute though, we saw a snake at the shop the other day - very tempting.

Today is going to be a tough day around here I think. DD6 woke me up at 3:30a telling me her tummy really hurt, nothing happened but at 5:30a she started vomiting :scared: . Poor thing, she is very pale but says nothing else hurts and she has no fever. Plus I have my 2yr old nephew here today. Fun, fun, fun.

Well, I'm off to check on the patient - poor thing. I hope everyone has a great day today!

Dgal- Have an awesome trip!
ID- Hope your dd is better soon. Usually those illnesses don't last long, but they are rough!
Slo- Hope they figure out what's going on so you can start to feel better!piglet- Used to wake up feeling that way...when I was preg!
froggy- Mmm, Cinnabon. I read the calorie and fat content. It horrified me.
Bunchkin- Maybe it has to do with that weird virus you've had. Hope your splotches go away soon!
Sk8- I just got dd a Barbie MP3 player at Target. It was on clearance for 7.48 and it kind of looks like a Barbie and you can clip different little outfits on it. She asked for an IPod for her bday, but I think she just wantssomething tiny that plays music!

Off to class! enjoy this weather!
