He all! Good afternoon. I'm only up cuz the dogs were barking at DH & a buddy riding up on their bikes. DH installs cable and Mondays are slow-he's done for the day already.

So..... drumroll please...... I have tonsillitis

What, am I 7? I can't have strep like normal people?:rotfl: Geez, the doc. didn't even do a strep screen though, so I don't really agree with that diagnosis but I'm on antibiotics anyway so whatever. Whatever it is-it'll clear up and that's good news. But I feel like I was hit by a truck & that sucks. And I've resorted to whispering.

Kirsten, MAC, Sandy, Tracy, and Lori- Thanks to you all for saying hello to me. And Tracy- I hated spanish too, hope you did well on your quiz!

On a brighter note- recieved DD's American Girl doll from the AG Hospital today. It's adorable. THey put her in a gown, with a bracelet, a get well balloon, and did her hair. I bought one missing a leg for abou $35 three mos. ago, and sent her to the hospital about 2 weeks ago. She'll getting her for her birthday next week. She'll be over the moon for it.

Sigh.....it's 76 out here today. Beautiful, sunny skies, a perfect breeze. SO not a day to be sick and tired. I wanted to plant my bulbs this week..... and go get my birdbath from my old apartment..........    :sad1:

Dang, I'm being a whiney baby. LOL.

Hi gang!!

Still not feeling well. I couldn't get a hold of the doctor on Saturday, that just happened to be the one Sat. a month they are NOT in!
Need to call in a bit to make an appt. Hopefully for Wed. afternoon.

Taking DS to his doctor on Wed. too. He has some rash on his face. Not sure if it's a reaction from starting up his allergy meds for the season or if it's Fifth disease. I did look it up, thanks for pointing that one out Hersey!!;)
I wonder if his rash and my rash are the same and I gave it to him! :confused3 No clue.

Then on top of it all.....like I need to deal with more!!!..........
Since getting those bad fevers I had a lump in my neck/head pop to the surface. I've had it for years but it's never stuck out this bad before and it is REALLY painful. To the point that it is constant and hurts to lie on that side of my head. Not good!
So I def. will be getting into the doctor this week.....along with DS.

slo Sounds like you had a good weekend.
Hope the hair coloring got rid of the greys!! ;) I hate mine!! They'll be leaving next week when I go to the salon!! :thumbsup2

paint Sounds like a good shower! And yummy food too! :goodvibes
Hope you got a lot of nice things!!! DF's gifts sound so sweet!

piglet Hope you got to the clinic today!!! It's no fun being in pain!

mac Thanks for the listings!!!
Sorry to hear about your relative's passing.
And about all of the house repairs. Why do they always happen at once?

julez :welcome: to the Chicago thread!
Sorry to hear you're not well. There seems to be a lot of that going around here lately!

momto1 Sorry to hear your son's tournament didn't go well.

Need to run!

Hi guys! I love this weather!! :thumbsup2

Ended up working out in the yard most of yesterday. Gosh what a mess! Because of the cicadias last summer I didn't do anything other than keep the front weeded and it showed. This week is free garbage so we spent a bit of time emptying the garage of the things that just seem to accumulate there. Tonight is get rid of toys night :rotfl: .

DH bought me a pedometer last week, it is fun to keep track of everything. I did my 4mi this morning and then another couple at lunch with DH. I'm up to 14,166 steps today - wow!

momto1 - sorry about DSs baseball game, losing is no fun.

mac - condolences to you and your family. Home improvements can be fun, lol ;) . Thanks for the show listings!

piglet - yikes, I hope you get some relief soon! :wizard: :wizard:

paint - congrats on the shower, glad you had fun.

slo - sounds like you had a very busy day yesterday. How's the walking going? I think it's getting a bit easier.

Juliez - :welcome: glad you found us, hope you come by often to visit. Hope you're feeling better soon, it's crummy to be sick when it's so nice outside.
*little about me: I have two DDs 11 & 6 and DS 7, DH works for Sony, will celebrate our 13th Anniversary in May.

Bunchkin - sorry to hear you're still sick, I hope the doc can get you in on Wed. Hope DS gets better too, let's hope for a reaction to the meds and not 5ths disease.

Well, gotta run. Have to fix DD11 some dinner as she has track at 6p.

Have a great evening everyone!

OK Bunchkin, now I went back and read along and remembered you had the fever first, then OK then rash. Sounds like I said before Fifth's Disease. But you are the oldest kid I've ever known to get that. And if Hunter now has the same rash, ...:rolleyes1
And as for the lump... my bet would be it is a swollen lymph node (always there normally) but swollen now due to trying to fight off infection.
Just my 2 cents, for what they are worth.

Hope everyone enjoyed their day today. I walked el perro (for you Paint) twice today and then picked up the back yard (sticks and poop :scared1: )He never runs out.:rotfl2: Took a walk to the park with the kids. DS had a soccer game tonight and scored a goal.:thumbsup2 He was so proud of himself. You could just see it in his face/actions.
DD found a bunch of trash lying around and decided to clean up for Earth Day :goodvibes She is so thoughtful.
Well, better run off to bed. Work in the AM for a meeting. Hope they pay enough to cover the cost of my gas to get there and back. :sad2:
Night all.

Bunchkin,
This is too funny. I went back up and read my post, and realized that it was the first post I typed (that was lost) that I typed in that I thought you might have Fifth's Disease. But when I retyped it, I just left that out and hoped you'd feel better.
Oh my gosh, I am losing it!!! :rotfl:
So Hersey was right to give you that info. Glad she did it!!!

hope you feel better soon.
my son had his tonsils removed last year due to the bad infection and he is grown up now. well, he's over 21 and still a big baby........shhhhh

sending you pixie dust and hoping you feel better real soon.

all the other sickies here included on that pixie dust delivery.

mickey always says "see you real soon" so i do that too

:surfweb:

paint - I"m glad your shower was a success!!! :woohoo:
**If you sister is anything like me, she'll start seeing her greys in a couple of years:rolleyes: I started dying my hair at 23 because of grey in my bangs, now they are EVERYWHERE!!!! I often wonder how grey I really am, but I'm not willing to not dye my hair to find out :sad2:
**My mom has a Beagle, and has always had Beagles - this is her 3rd. She loves them!!!
**Thank goodness you have that home warranty - that would be a very costly repair if you didn't have that. Good luck with getting all that done!!!:wizard:

geffric - :wave2:

Mac - Have a safe trip when you leave tomorrow. My sympathies to your family for your loss

piglet - How did everything go at the doctor yesterday?

Tigggggggggggern - Congrats to Kyle on scoring his goal - that's awesome!!!:cheer2:

momto1 - Oh no:eek: , having a baby raccoon fall down, into the walls, was a fear we were having when we had raccoons in our attic. Luckily, the problem was handled before any of them had babies. How do you know something fell into the walls? Did you hear it, or do you smell something like dead aniimal?
**I'm sorry your sons team didn't do well :guilty: I"m sure they'll d better next time.

julez - I"m sorry to hear about the tonsilites (sp?) I'll send tons of PD to feel better soon!!!:wizard: :wizard:
**If you don't mind me asking, how much was the doll repairs? Was it super expensive, or not to bad? I always wondered how much the hospital cost.

Bunchkin - So many hugs to you!!!  I never thought of Fifth Disease, but that does sound right - especially when you said Hunter has a rash on his face ::yes:: I remember that Fifth Disease was in the infant room when Katie was a baby (she never got it) and how the teacher had to work somewhere else in the building, because she was pregnant, and the Fifth Disease could be fatal to a fetus (Tiggerrrnnnnnnn did I say that correctly?). Anyway, I hope you are able to find out, and get it treated. I feel so bad for you, because you've had a bad winter for sickness

ID - That's totally awesome about the amount of steps you are taking :woohoo: Ideally, you/anyone should be taking 10,000 steps a day, and you are well over that - congrats!!!!:cheer2: Are you feeling any thinner?
I hope to be feeling thinner soon.
**The walking is going well, but I'm not doing it everyday:sad2: I'm walking outside every other day, and then I'm doing my stepbox aerobics inbetween the walking, and then on days I don't want to walk outside, I have my inhouse walking tapes (Leslie Sansone - I love her). My knees are killing me (I have terrible knees, and physical therapy last year) but I will perserve until I can't go up and down my house stairs anymore:rolleyes: .

Well, I'm off and running
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Bunchy No charge for the phone call. It probably it's covered by your insurance anyway. Hope you got into the doctor.

Welcome to our thread, and I'm sorry you're sick!

But you are the oldest kid I've ever known to get that.

Bunchkin's just special. ;) Hope you feel better Bunchkin! :goodvibes

And I'm sorry about your loss, Mac.

I'm off work today, but it's nothing fun. Right now I have people in my house for my one year service call. They've already gotten these weird rust stains off the wall of the tub in my guest bathroom. :thumbsup2 Now there's someone here working on a few spots on the drywall. And currently I have no door going out to the garage. :scared1: It was really hard to open, so the carpenter did some work on the wooden strip on the bottom of the jamb, and then he took the door off to replace the little strip on the bottom of the door. But then he said that they left him the wrong one, so he's going to the trailer to see if they have the right one, since the door is off anyway. So he left, and sure enough, there's no door! :rotfl: So hopefully he can find the right strip and get that done. Then the rest of the stuff is all outdoor stuff that the builder guy found. I don't even really know what those problems are, but hopefully all of it will be done fairly early.

Then I have a dentist appt at 1:30pm. I had that scheduled first, and then scheduled the house stuff on the same day. And then I should be able to go do emissions testing on my car sometime during the day. It's really close to my house.

I didn't have to take a day off, either. We had to work on MLK Day because of year-end stuff, so this is my make-up day. :cool1:

Speaking of feeling thinner, I'd really like to! I've been eating eating eating, and I've gained like 7 lbs recently. :scared1: So I'm trying to cut back. I'm not going full Weight Watchers yet, I just can't bear to, but I've been getting junk for breakfast almost every day, like McD's biscuits (or sausage biscuits! ) or a donut or a croissant. So I'm trying to cut that out. And I've been drinking two cans of Mountain Dew at work a day (it's free), but now I'm just drinking one in the morning and going to Coke Zero in the afternoon (which I have to bring in myself, but it's pretty good, for diet :thumbsup2 ). And I'm trying not to have a snack in the afternoon. So we'll see how that goes. :rolleyes1

I think the door guy is back. Hopefully he found the right strip!

Hi Everyone! Sorry I've been so MIA lately. It's been busy here at work and when I do get a chance to post, I end up posting in the Podcast section because there's always something nutty going on up there.

Bunchkin, So sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Fifth Disease is going around. A friend of mine on the train, her daughter recently had it and she's out in Manhattan in daycare. The whole place came down with it apparently. I guess its similar to scarlet fever??

Work has been soooo busy! With the market up one day and down the next, the work just keeps flowing. This recession is going to kill me, well if gas prices don't get me first! I'm getting a lot done around the house, cause God knows I can't afford to drive anywhere. Lots of cleaning, repairing, rearranging, and throw in some sprucing here and there.

I hope everyone has a good week. I'll try to get back down here more often. Please forgive my extended absence!! :lovestruc

Take care y'all!

Oh, I forgot to add, I booked the plane tickets for me and parents to go to WDW yesterday. :cool1: We had gotten a Ding fare, but even with that SW was still more expensive than United :scared: , so I just booked United. I think it was about $50 more than my last flight there, but still under $300 each, so I thought that was pretty decent, considering. And I didn't think I should wait any longer. I think it'll only get worse. So now I just need to get park tickets and maybe make a couple of ADRs. I'm pretty sure I want to do HDDR the day we get there (not a park day, and I think my parents will like it), so I should probably go ahead and book it. And then on MK day I'm thinking about doing a LTT dinner, although I'm not really sure about a character dinner for the three of us. None of us are really that into characters. I just like to get pictures of them. But I think my parents would enjoy the food, and Lord knows, there's a lack of great food at MK. But then I keep thinking about my CM friend, and should I check with her about either of those things, but she's only seasonal now and trying to launch a business, so she might not even be in town.

Oh, I think I got a postcard PIN? I got a postcard the other day (I had gotten the planning DVD and said I was interested in October). There was a URL with my name in it, and when you go into it, I think it gives a 30% off offer, and says when you call in to give them your PIN. I'm not sure what my PIN is, though? It doesn't really say. There's a 4 digit # in the URL, so I don't know if that's it? But anyway, it really doesn't matter, I get a better deal with my TA discount. Just thought it was interesting. At some point I'll need a PIN!

Good Morning Everyone!! :flower3: Got back late last night from my wonderful trip! We had wonderful weather. NOT ONE DROP OF RAIN! :cool1: Mike and I got engaged our first night!!! After dinner in Epcot, we walked around a bit, I kept saying we should stay for Illuminations and he was like well, don't you want to go to the Magic Kingdom? I thought that is what you had on the itinerary? So we got on the monorail and headed to the TTC. I was heading to the MK connection and he's like we have some time, lets go look at some of the MK resorts so when we got to the Contemporary he wanted to get off saying he knows a secret way to the MK. I was confused but said whatever! Next thing I know we were getting on a boat! He came on to the DISBOARDS :disrocks: and found out that he could rent a boat for Wishes! So we had this 10 person boat all to ourselves and apparently everyone knew including the boat driver! It was a really great way to start the trip! the ring is gorgeous. I had seen it about 3 years ago and mentioned that i really liked it. he went back to the store (we know the manager of the store) and asked about it. it had been discontinued so he and anna (the manager) called everyone she could think of. Finally, she had found it and talked to the stores buyer and they got it! He was amazing. :goodvibes

Anywho, the parks were all fantastic. We won Dream FastPasses at AK. Which we were both pleasantly surprised on how great the park is. We were only planning on spending a morning there but spent most of the day instead! Very enjoyable. Mike pulled a ligament in his foot though that day :scared1: so unfortunatlely we didn't spend as much time in the parks as planned. He would be fine until about 4pm and then it would start getting really bad so we would go back to the room and rest for a bit then head out for dinner. Sunday at the MK it was really bad but I think it's because he kept walking on it all weekend. so we called it an early day. didn't get to ride space mountain b/c it was having techinal difficulties and our FastPass wasn't until 8pm. oh well, not a big deal. Yesterday morning before departure we went to Downtown disney. It was nice shopping. Got a souvie for everyone in my family. I'm like that, need to buy for everyone! and had lunch at Raglan Road, which was superb!

I'm sure I will update more details but I need to get to laundry and cleaning. I go back to work tomorrow:sad1:

Julez ~ :welcome: sorry you are ill  hope you feel better soon. Mike had tonsilitis quite a few times a few years back. it really stinks having it as an adult.

Everyone Else who has been sick :wizard: hope you all feel better soon!

Everyone Else :wave2:

Hi guys!! :wave2:

So looking into this Fifth disease, it would seem that if I do have it, it would explain a lot of what's been going on with me symptom wise. Swollen hands and feet, hurting joints. WedMD says these are signs adults get, especially women.
I did get into the doctor for Wed, before Hunter's doctor appt. I'm going to bring him with to my appt. so my doctor can see what's going on with him too, to better asses if that's what we have.
The web site did say that if you are at the red rash stage that your not contagious any more and he can be in school.
So I have no clue how we got this, if it is Fifth disease, and obviously finding out that we might have it doesn't help in knowing if we gave it to anyone else.

Tiggerrn You're a goof!!
I have a really weak immune system, so maybe I just showed signs of it before Hunter did. :confused3
And as for that lump, it my be a lymph node, but many years ago I had a similar lump grow on the back of my ear and it was a benign tumor. So who knows. :confused3

Hersey Like I'd pay you any way??!!! :rotfl2: You send a bill to BCBS and see how it goes for ya!

Leigh HDDR is so much fun!!! Have you been before?
Are you going with your parental units? :)
There is a great table for 3 that they have right behind the piano player next to the stage. The kids and I got that table before. Maybe you'll snag that one!

Got a bad sunburn.................on ONE ARM yesterday!!!:rotfl:
I was watching DH wash my car and I guess I was partially in the shade. :rotfl2: So I look like half a lobster!!!!

Morning!

Looks like the rain is a coming, darn it.

disneygal - party: Congrats - how exciting!! When we were in WDW in Nov there was a couple that got engaged during the fireworks at MVMCP. I'm glad you had a good trip and hope the Mike's foot feels better soon.

Leigh - we haven't booked our Oct tickets yet, prices are just too high when you need 5 tix. Looks like we might be driving :drive: .

slo - not sure that I feel thinner yet but I don't feel like a slug anymore, waking up in the morning is easier lately. I'm not walking every day either, just M,W,F although I ended up doing nearly 6mi this morning as DD11 left her religion book at home and I decided rather than drive it over to school that I'd walk it, was a bit farther than I thought  . DH is jealous, his counts are trailing mine ;) .

Tiggern - congrats to your DS on his goal and thank your DD for cleaning up.

Well, have to run and check if DD11s track uniform is clean. She found out yesterday at practice that there is an extra meet today.

Have a great day everyone!!

Well, I'm about to join you guys in one week!

DH and I are moving to Wrigleyville, literally a block from the field, (Lord help me) next Thursday.

He's getting out of the ARMY so we are able to move and start our lives over! Here's hoping we land some excellent jobs and make new friends. This starting over is stressful!
