Happy Saturday! The Candlelight Bowl went well. I am sure the team raised a lot of money. DH spent the evening sell raffles and I tended to the snack food dishes. So..I didn't bowl! I did enter the basket raffle and won 2 baskets! I couldn't belive it - I never win anything! The first basket was a Gourmet Breakfast with hot cross buns from Great Harvest, a $10 Great Harvest gc, 2 pounds of flavored coffe and a box of tea bags. The other bskekt was a Trader Joe's basket stuffed with chips and salsa, pasta and sauces, and some yummy baking mixes!

I just got back from making an exchange at the Disney store. They now have reusable shopping (or whatever you want to use them for)bag with Mickey on them for $2.50. So cute...I can't wait to use my at the store.

Slo and Paint- thanks for the info on eating at the mall. Oh...well...I have been once and mom want's to go there for her birthday shopping with her daughter day.

Paint - Get that paper done so you can do something fun! Good luck!

Rose - prayers for your dad's speedy recovery and for your mom and your family!

Hey there everyone. Hope you are all having a good weekend. I finally gave up and called the MD yesterday. The office was booked. The receptionist said she could fit me in on Monday. I told her I could be dead by then. The Doc ended up calling in a prescription for Zithromax for me. Still coughing but it is getting better with the meds.
Rose, thoughts and prayers going out for your dad. Hope recovery goes well.
Momto1, hope you enjoy your day at the outlet mall. I went 2 weeks ago. They have a brand new CROCS outlet store there. Got some work shoes. Love them!!! I plan to take the kids when it warms up a bit so they can pick some new CROCS sandals for this summer. They love their Mickey CROCS.
Bunchkin, I was just at Borders last week and they had a book by AG that is one of those ALL About My Body kind of books. I debated picking it up for Kellie. I am just not sure if it is time for me to talk with her yet about all that stuff. She is so small. I have not heard of them having the movie yet in school. I do want her to learn it all from me the right way!!! Just not sure when is the right time. I was a very late bloomer. This book was really nice - had lots of information about everything from body changes, hormone changes, and just growing up stuff. Maybe I will pick it up this Sunday and hold on to it until I think she is ready for it. She hasn't really asked any questions yet.
Slo, I was scheduled to work yesterday, but ended up calling off sick. I haven't done that in years. I just didn't see how I could take of any patient in between coughing fits. I don't know if it was busy or not. I work Monday so I will have to check that out.
DMM you are off. Hope you are having a wonderful, warm, crowd-free trip. Be sure to fill us all in on your return.
Well, off to get ready for dinner. We are bringing in some food from Northwoods tonight. I haven't felt much like eating lately (let alone cooking it) and I finally have an appetite.

Hi all. Our spring break is less than a week away. Unfortunately, despite today's warmer temp, it doesn't look like spring will be visiting our region anytime soon. We're heading south for a few days next week, but I really wish all the snow/cold would leave so I could start making trips into the city with DD3.

I think I don't like the teaser temp's for today only to have winter for to come back tomorrow! I so want to see green grass even if I have to mow it.

Things are going pretty good here. It's starting to calm down and get back to normal at NIU. Midterms are this week, so that's always stressful for people, but then we get spring break. I have a lot of work to do once I get back from spring break (like the oral defense of my thesis ), but I'm trying to worry less and enjoy life more this semester.

We've given up eating at Northwoods. Every time we go there something is bad with one of the dishes we order. It's a shame because I really like the atmosphere there!
Lauren has the AG book you are referring to. Actually she has had it a while, but she has so many books that I think she has never looked at it!!!! I've been meaning to locate it ( I think it's in her room) and reread through it myself and see if there is any particular section I can discuss with her now.



momto1 What do you mean you've never won anything? Didn't you say you won a basket with hopper passes in it??

Hi all-
I guess I spoke too soon about my dad.
He woke up with stomach pain on Thurs. He took some stomach meds but they didn't help. My mom took him to the ER Thurs evening. Got admitted and done bunch of tests. Found out this afternoon that he was going to need emergency surgery on his bowel obstruction. He just got out of surgery and surgery went well. Had his spleen removed b/c it was so inflamed. Also had a bowel resection done. Sorry, TMI.
I was at the hospital earlier today. My mom told me she didn't need me to be at the hospital for the surgery. She wanted to wait by herself.
He'll be in the hospital for a few days.That's the update.


Talking about ISATs- our school's is next week also. My kids' school had an ISAT pep rally today!
Just wondering if our principal had on a cheerleading outfit for it. LOL.

I am sorry to hear about your Dad Rose. I'm glad his surgery went well. I will keep your family in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Spiderwick was good!!!
A couple of scenes made me jump!
I thought the story was good, but DD did say that it didn't follow the books exactly.




Well, were off to go buy a b-day gift for my nephew.

Hello everyone!

We survived DD's gymnastics meet. The judges were *tough* today though. I thought DD's bars looked great and she only got a 7.3 on them which is really low for her. Then again, they all got under 8 scores which is not normal for our team on the bars. I did videotape it & DD looked at it at lunch going "I was low there, that could have been better, my leg isn't straight there" -- so apparently SHE knows she could improve but for us spectators it looked really smooth & together -- no pauses between connections, etc...

She was still a bit freaked out though about her fly-away (basically the flip in the air release move) -- she had fallen on Wed. doing that move and somehow bashed her chin (the only thing we can figure out is she kneed herself in the chin when she fell) as she landed on her back. She wasn't quite sure what all happened since it happened really fast. So, she's still a little skittish on that move. She did it though & landed it.

Other than that, this week is a crazy week with the school play as it's this upcoming weekend, so tech rehearsals, then DD has another gymnastics meet on the Sunday. Just way too many things going on all at once.

Becky2005 sounds like the judges were a bit picky.. it that normal at her level? Glad she did as well as she did and did well on her fly-away.

We have solo ensemble competion next saturday so Eric and a few others are practicing for that.. I am working on Geoff's eagle ceremony pictures now.. this will take a while. i am still looking for cub scout pictures.. Note to anyone in scouting - take lots of pictures and keep them somewhere that you can find years later..

Bunchkin - I'm glad you enjoyed the movie I would like to take Stephanie to see it, but I think it will scare her to much (she's a little wimpy when it comes to movies that might be a little scary).

Becky - I'm sorry your DD didn't get a high score from the judges , but I think it's great that she's not pouting (sp?) about it, and knows where she needs to improve - good for her!!!!!

I'm finding it's really hard to motivate oneself to study for a midterm when the only thing you want to think about is an upcoming vacation. Oh well, I guess I need to buckle down today; I can worry about our vacation tomorrow night after my exam is over.

Well off to wake up DD3, take her to daycare, then stop by Walmart to pick up 101 Dalmatians before heading to work.
