O.K. So I may have had some extra time on my hands the past few weeks, but I did put it to some good use (I think). Check out this link and let me know what you think about it. This is not to replace Dori's t-shirt design, it's just something I came up when I found this website.

Hey if you guys want to make it so that I only have to build one t-shirt instead of two - it's no skin off my nose! I like Andy's design too! :teeth:

I'm still trying to send some warmer weather east to you guys. Today we have blue skies and temperatures in the 50s. (The tree pollen has been 'high' for about four days now. I guess that I better get the 'springtime allergy nasal spray' refilled for both Devin and I. It looks like we're gonna need it early this year.)

Darlene -
I'm so glad to hear about Stan! I've been going through a similar situation here. My best friend's father (the friend helping me with the t-shirts, this guy is my "other Dad") just had surgery for colon cancer about a week and a half ago. He's still in the hospital because he popped a couple of his internal stitches and had to have a drain put in. They are watching him closely for signs of infection at this point. I sent him a 'boredom relief kit' the other day, filled with reading material, crossword puzzles, etc to help keep him occupied while he's stuck in a hospital bed.

And yes, as frustrating as my job can be at times, I do love the challenge. I'm the type of person that loves puzzles of all kinds and, to me, the computer programming thing is just another puzzle. I enjoy figuring out how things all fit together and how it rearranges when you change one part.

I'm so sorry to hear your "other dad" is having complications with his surgery. To tell you the truth, Stan's complication was more nerve-wracking than the surgery itself. It took so long for the drains to do their job and collapse the abscesses. Even though he is back to work I still look for signs of infection, fever, chills, pain. We go Monday to the oncologist.

How old is your friend? Please tell him he is in our thoughts and prayers. I hope he has skilled and kind nurses. Stan did so much better under some nurses than others. Let me know how he is doing.

Darlene

Andy - That website is great. I love all of the options. We can all get buttons, ect. What a great idea. Hope the weather isn't too bad Monday.

Tina - Tell Brooke congrats!!! Alexandra is getting an honesty award this month. They give a character award to 7 or 8 kids a month.

Doreen - Have a safe trip. I hope you got out before the snow. I hate lake effect.

14 days until Carnival cruise - I need to start packing this weekend because the next two weeks are just crazy. In the last week my DH's grandmother died and I just found out the my step-grandfather had a heart attack this morning. He has been married to my grandmother for 26 years - I never knew my real grandfather. On top of that my FIL will be having surgery for his colon cancer soon. When it rains, it pours.

Dori - I am so jealous of your signs of spring. I can't wait!!!

Hello to everybody that I missed. I hope all are well.

Linda

LINDA
It sounds like you are having a rough time of it with family illness. I hope you can look forward to your upcoming cruise as a time to rest and regroup.
Take care,
Darlene :grouphug:

Linda,

You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I saw on the Weather Channel yesterday that Syracuse was getting hit rather hard with snow. I can't wait for Spring to get here!!! :sunny: :flower:

Yes, I'm actually up at this god-forsaken hour, I fell asleep watching TV around 8:30 last evening and woke up at 2:30 this morning wide awake. This is going to be a very long day!!!

Darlene - I just found out last night that my 'other dad' came home from the hospital this weekend. They even removed the drain before he left. Thank goodness! I'm not sure exactly how old he is, but would have to guess that he's in his early seventies. Don't let the age fool you. He's one of these types that doesn't slow down much. In fact when I found out about the popped stiches I told Traci (my friend) that we should have duct-taped him to the hospital bed before the anesthesia wore off (she agreed).

Linda - Don't be too jealous of our early springtime weather. It's going to cause major problems for us later this year. There is serious talk of drought in the area this summer. Our snow-pack is only about 1/3 of what it should be and that is going to adversely affect our water supply this summer when we rely on the snow melt for water. According to the news, the local water reserviors are currently stock-piling water, but they don't think that it will be enough to meet our needs. Oh goody, it sounds like we get to deal with water rationing this summer!

Hi Guys

Hope you are all well, sorry I have not posted for a few days, but I have picked up a lousy chest infection and cold again.

The weather here is freezing at the moment, and the forcast this week is snow, snow, snow.

Avon is going very well and my first order came to just over £400 so I was really pleased.

Vicki will be going back to school tomorrow after having a week off, so back to the early morning run before work for me to get her to the school bus in time. I am sure the neighbours are relieved she is back tomorrow, so they dont have to hear the drum playing all day.lol

Off now to put my electric blanket on and have an early night, gosh it's ffffreezing.

Take care all

Sue

Hi Sue,

It's getting very cloudy here in my neck of the woods, and snow is on the way. I hope the weather forecasters are correct and the snow changes to rain before tomorrow morning. Even with that, we are supposed to get 3 to 6 inches before the change over. "Think Spring" everyone!!!

Andy,
Stan was released to go back to work yesterday. He was thrilled. We see the oncologist on Monday so I'll know more then about the chemo. Looks like Monday is "doctor" day for both of you. I hope you get good news and that the weather starts to cooperate and not cause you any more injury.
Darlene

Darlene: That is great that Stan is released to go back to work. I hope all goes well at the oncologist. Be sure to give us an update.

Linda: What can I say oh my goodness you have you hands full. I will keep you in my prayers.

Dori: Glad to hear your second dad is doing better, sending pixie dust his way.

Doreen & Terry: Have a safes trip to and from your destinations.

Sue: Hope you're feeling better soon.

Andy: I hope you make out well at the doctors. Maybe he'll let you stay home until spring.

Mary Rose & Karen: My good friends where are you? :confused3 Hope all is well with both of you.

Lyn

Lyn--One can only dream!!!!!!!!!

Darlene--it was fun chatting with you this afternoon, I hope I didn't surprise you too much with the call!!! We arrived home safe and sound and before any snowflakes starting falling, LOL!!! Time to hunker down for the night!!!

ANDY!!!!
It was such a nice surprise to get your call. :goodvibes It is so fun to hear someone's voice when all I usually hear is myself (in my head, not outloud!) reading posts. I'm so glad you called. I'll try to be home next time you go by. It would be so much fun to get together, and I haven't met Angelina yet.

Duck tape works wonders for active patients. Wish I had known about it before. Glad your friend is out of the hospital and I hope his recovery runs smooth. :flower:

Sandy was playing her drumsticks today. Apparently the pad that came with them was not sufficiently loud enough, so she set up a box to tap on. That was loud! Just glad she didn't confiscate a pot from the kitchen. She was having a blast. Nice that your Avon is starting out well. Hope you feel better :goodvibes .

Darlene

Well, hello there :wave2:

I am FINALLY up to date. I have been trying to catch up for weeks now! I feel as though I know all of you. We are: me Heather (36), dh BOB-Don (35) and dd (7). Ages as of cruise, infact my daughter is turning 7 on the 22nd. We also have early seating. My mother is coming (I think) and maybe her husband? Long story!

A little backround on our cruise experience: I have cruised The Big Red Boat (1) and RCC (2) (once with my husband, his first). We are DVC members at Beach Club and love it. My daughter and I are Disney crazy. My husband thinks we are nuts! So I, anyway, should fit in with the group.

We seem to be the only one's who are doing DCL for the 1st time and with young ones. I have been waiting to do this, but now I see I should not have waited. :flower:

One thing you should know about me.......I am a horrible with spelling.....where is the spell check anyway. :confused3

Heather - Welcome! Here's a little poem I found about spell checkers. Hopefully it will make you feel better about your skills in that department.

SPELL CZECH

Eye halve a spelling chequer. It came with my pea sea.
It plainly marques for my revue miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word and weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write. It shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid, it nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite. Its rarely ever wrong.

Eye have run this poem threw it, I am shore your pleased two no.
It’s letter perfect in it’s weigh. My chequer tolled me sew.

WELCOME HEATHER
We are looking forward to getting to know you and your family. My DD will turn 9 on the 20th. We are veterans of DCL and still love it. We are also DVC Members (VWL). You re going to have a great time anticipating the cruise with this bunch of Castaways!

All my snow is gone! :goodvibes
Here's some :wizard: for tomorrow.
Darlene

Dori.. I am rofl :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That was actually hard to read! I guess I am not that bad!

Thank you for the warm :sunny: welcolme!

Darlene: Thank you also for the welcome. Maybe they should have a joint celebration! :bday: My daughter's friends are mostly boys anyway! I hope that will eventually change or I will be in BIG trouble! I was actually trying to convince my dh to stay at VWL in Nov. this year, but he loves the BCV's. We stayed at the VWL about 3 years ago and it was really nice.

Darlene, we have 4 inches and it is still snowing. Would be more than willing to pack it up and send to you?! :flower:

Mary

Welcome Aboard Heather and Family!!! Glad you found us and were able to read through the thread!!!

Just about all our snow is gone here already as well, we had only about 2 inches of snow before it changed over to rain. I just arrived home from PT and seeing the doc, I "WILL" be returning to work Tuesday morning. I know I will have a lot of catching up to do as the meter readings are about two weeks behind. I hope my boss keeps Jason on for another week or so to help me catch up. I feel my knee is about 85 percent back to normal, tomorrow will be the big test.

Mary, you can keep all that snow up your way, thank you very much. I've had enough of it already!!! I'm ready for :sunny: 70 degree days!!!
