Hi everybody! We just booked the 8/19/06 cruise for myself - Linda(will be 38 - ugh), DH - Roger(will be 40), DS-Zachary (will be 8 - almost 9), DD-Alexandra(will be 6 - almost 7) and MIL-Joan(no idea and she would kill me if I told you anyway). We booked 5005 & 5006 and we have early seating. Please add us to the list.

I just got off the Wonder with Tina and she looked wonderful in her gown. Her husband, children and Mother looked incredible too. All of the planning paid off. We had brunch with them at Palo and got to share her wedding cake. It was great and she is so thoughtful - she even had favors for us at brunch.

I have spent the last few (well, I guess many hours as I look at the clock) reading the prior posts. I've only made it half way through but I feel like I've gotten to know everyone already.

Andy - thanks again for the postcard for my children.

Doreen - We live in Central Square and I grew up in North Syracuse. Are you from N. Syracuse originally. Sorry I hadn't come onboard when you were in the hospital - would of helped out in anyway I could have.

I hope this all makes sense because it's really late and I've been reading posts all night. Talk to you all soon.

Linda

Linda & Family:

Welcome to our little corner of paradise.

Even though we aren't going for two years we keep the cruise fresh with weekly countdowns and daily posts.

Glad to have you with us.

Lyn :flower1:

Tina, you looked so beautiful... what a wonderful day you must have had. You and your husband look very happy together with your children as well. What a lovely dress. I am interested in hearing how the airplane ride went with the gown as well.

Linda, MY NEW NEIGHBOR... I went to all the Catholic High school thats closed and ended up graduating from Henninger, my husband lived in Cicero all his life before he moved to N Syracuse with me. What about you? And your husband Roger-BOB??
Finally, someone closer to us and not New York City.lol. So its me, Linda and Tina from Central NY... YEAH... Hey maybe we will be on the same plane going down too..lol
How is Carmen and her back anyone know?>? and where is GINNY?? :smooth:

Glad everyone had a great HOLIDAY.. now its time for Shopping for the Christmas and Chanukkah season....

Doreen

Lyn & Doreen: Oh the dress lol As you know I was a wreck about it before hand. We all got first class seating on the plane getting to Detroit. My dress however was in the back of the plane in the overhead by it's self . During the flight I had Chuck go get it because I was worried about it and didn't want to wait for everyone to get off the plane before I could get it. I know what your thinking and I agree I was a pain in the #&*. In Detroit to Orlando what are the odds of another woman carrying on another BIG wedding dress on the same flight? Found out each flight they handle it different. Yep I freaked out. lol This time only Brooke and me got first class and gate agent told me because we were getting on first not to worry about it. When we got on they knew situation and just took my dress and stuffed it in the closet. :( It was a very full flight not even sure if other woman got hers on. It worked out in the end because Disney did a great job with it. It was very funny to see Chuck walk through airport carrying dress. You couldn't see him only his feet. Friday before we went to Universal Studios Chuck shipped my dress and slip. No way was he going to go through that again!! lol He had them fold it up. I get it this Friday. It was insured. Sent UPS ground. Because it could be folded it was only 66.00 instead of the 285.00 it would have cost before and sent 2 day. That's my dress story. I would tell anyone if they could get married at Castaway that's the way to do it. Sue I will look for you. You have time. Tina

 Hi everyone,

:charac2: I had problems getting onto this new board design. Didn't realize that I had to log on and then I forgot my password. Kept trying and it kept locking me out.

Tina - welcome back and congratulations. Everyone looked so beautiful. Glad things worked out with the wedding gown. Your pictures are great.

Sue - when you find someone, see if he has a single brother for me. (and rich would be nice). Maybe we can have a double wedding or you can do CC first and I'll do it last. lol

Lyn - I did Carnival 7 times and it was fun. But after doing DCL, I love DCL much better. However, my DD Lindsay is graduating HS in June and wants to go on a cruise since we just did DCL in Aug for her brother's HS graduation. I will probably do Carnival in late June or July. We're doing VOS this December. Happy belated birthday to Matt.

Hope everyone is feeling good. :flower:

Bev :earboy2:

Bev...OK Tell us which Carnival ships you have been on and were they 7 day cruises? We are thinking Glory at this time, but that can change.

Off to see the wedding pictures

Joanna

We are booked on Carnival Glory in March and I would love to know what others have thought about it. We didn't pick it - a group of about 20 couples are going and that is the ship that was picked. I think we will have fun no matter what because it's no kids allowed with the group that we are going with. I must admit I am getting more excited about the 8/19/06 cruise already though.

Doreen - I graduated from CNS in 1985 and my sister in 1982 - what about your husband? My husband grew up in Central Square and graduated in 1985.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. :grouphug:

Linda

OK This is going to be funny. Doreen and Linda are going to wind up knowing each other from high school! I can't wait for Doreen's reply if she graduated from the same school and which year.

OK all you past Glory cruisers, let us hear it.

Joanna

Cool, just noticed they changed the format again and it is back to normal looking with the screen name on the side and not the top

Just checking in to let everyone know I have not fallen off the face of the earth or anything. Its been very hectic around the Kurtz household lately with cheerleading, the holidays, houseguests, etc.... Ive been meaning to post for a while and kept forgetting.

Doreen... its nice to know you were so worried about me :D

Tina.. Beautiful wedding pictures!!!

Darlene... How is Stan the man doing these days??? I saw your PM and I will call Disney one of these days and link our ressies for the repo.

Linda.. welcome to our crazy little bunch!!!

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

Now Im off to bed, 5AM comes entirely too early - LOL

Ginny

Thanks Ginny ! Chuck spent some time scanning some of the professional pictures tonight. It took a long time. There are now 70 to look at. I took the digital ones off. Sorry they are not in order. He scanned them in order not sure what happened. I will finally be able to pick up my mail tomorrow. Can't wait. Hope all had a nice Thanksgiving. Tina http://community.webshots.com/slideshow?ID=223983055&key=cRXgcD

Tina - I love the pictures. I had seen a few of them but not all. They are great. Roger and I have the same Mickey & Minny - we bought it on our Honeymoon. That is what I was originally going to buy you but I didn't see it in the stores that I was in. Now I am glad that I didn't. Did you ever see Shelley again? I only got taked the one time. Talk to you soon.

Linda

 Linda: Mickey & Minnie came with the wedding package. We bought Mickey & Minnie toasting glasses but they didn't show up well in the pictures. We also had our names engaved on them. I haven't heard from Shelly or never did find her cabin. :( So your on deck 5 for this cruise? I am on deck 6.I can't get warm yet. It feels to cold here. Now I am ready for a vacation. Don't forget I need your address. When you have time send me a PM. Well time to get some sleep. Kids getting me up early tomorrow for school. Tina

Tina...Beautiful pictures. I thought I wrote it last night after I looked at them. You all looked beautiful. The kids looked so happy. I see from your post it is back to routine now, school etc.... ughhh don't you wish you were cruising again?

Linda...Where on deck 5 are you? We are forward.

Everytime I go to post, I have to sign in again, even though I checked the "remember me" box. Anyone else have to do this?

Tina: Beautiful pictures!! What wonderful memories you all must have now. I can't imagine a better place to get married than on Castaway Cay! Thanks so much for sharing all your pictures with us :)

Linda: Welcome to our group! Looking forward to getting to "know" you during the next 2 years :)

Joanna: Thanks ! I still have to wait 1 hour and 15 min. before I can pick up a weeks worth of mail to go through. Yuck. Chuck is already on the road and back to work.

Terry: Yes special memories. After seeing what you guys look like all this time I am glad to figure out how to get some pictures up. Well I didn't do it Chuck did. I wish everyone could have been there. I don't think I can wait till 2006 to take another cruise but I am sure our wallet can. lol Tina

Andy,

If you decide to take your Mom on an Alaskan Cruise that originates out of Seattle, let me know. I am offering my services as a Seattle Tour Guide to any one in the group that makes it up into my neck of the woods.

Dori :teeth:

We're going on Alaskan Cruise in 8/05. Plan to spend 2 days in Seattle. Any help and advise would be great; where to stay, eat, visit, and best way to get to Vancouver. Thanks

Joanna, hey Linda and I went to the same HIGH SCHOOL.. no, I am joking.... My husband went to CICERO when it was still Cicero and not CNS.. Where did your parents live though.????

Tina, the new pictures are so pretty.. first class.. what a way to go..
GINNY... Daniel was wondering where GINNY WAS.... DONT DO THAT AGAIN... I hope everyone is well. We sure had our share of illness here too. Daniel just had Pneumonia over Thanksgiving..

Doreen

 Hi everyone,

I am frustrated with having to log on each time to post :badpc:

Joanna - I did some 4 & 5 day Carnival cruises. The 7 day cruises were on the Paradise, Sensation and last December on the Victory. I loved the Paradise since it was a non smoking ship at the time. The Victory was nice but I didn't get to really enjoy it since my mom was sick the whole cruise (had something working on her before going on the ship) and DD Lindsay woke up the morning of the cruise with a fever of 102.6. I didn't know who to take care of first so pretty much, I spent most of the cruise in my cabin. My kids found that Carnival really didn't offer much for a teen club especially if you have late dining. The teen club started at 9:30 pm and at 10:30 pm the children under 16 were kicked out of the club. We didn't get out of dinner until 10-1015, so the teen club was pretty much non-existent. That's why DS Harley said he'd rather go on a 3 day Disney than a 7 day Carnival for his graduation. He was thrilled that we went to the Atlantis (bahamas) in August since he turned 18 in March and could legally gamble. I am thinking about doing the Glory or one of the newer/bigger Carnival ships for Lindsay's graduation. :D I heard it is a good ship for teens.

How's everyone doing on their diet? I haven't lost any weight but I haven't gained either. Hope your having better luck than me. Maybe I'll start a liquid :drinking1 diet. lol

Have a great day.

Bev :flower:

My next weigh-in is Tuesday morning. I'm a little nervous about this weigh-in with just coming through Thanksgiving weekend. That 12" pumpkin pie we had in the house is long gone. :earseek:

Joanna - We are in rooms 5005 & 5006(forward). We were on 5512 on the Wonder last week and I really liked it. It was quiet and close to just about everything.

Doreen - My sister graduated the last year it was Cicero. We lived on David Drive(off Allen Rd. - right behind the school) and then on Rita Drive (off from Buckley Rd.)

It was back to work & school today - what a does of reality!!! I hope all had a great day.

Linda
