GINNY - I am so glad to see you back onboard! I was so worried . Thanks for asking about Stan. He had a test today that showed the abscess is not resolving with the tube/drain. They told him the only alternative now is to go back in and do surgery. It wasn't very good news. I asked him if he thought he wanted to do it as soon as possible or wait until after Christmas. He wants to wait. I'm leaning towards doing it now. I don't want an "emergency" surgery again. And the sooner he does it, the sooner he can start healing.

TINA - Beautiful pictures! If I had it to do over again I would have my wedding the same way. You looked beautiful. I'm so glad everything went so well. Congratulations!

LINDA - I can't remember if I welcomed you and your family yet...so in case I didn't "WELCOME" .

Good Morning All,

I was thrilled this morning to find out that I had LOST another two pounds since last Tuesday. To come through the long Thanksgiving Weekend, and find out that my hardwork paid off, was quite exciting!!! I'm nearly at half my weight loss goal. As of this morning, my total loss is 24 pounds since September 1st.

Karen: I had a torn menicus in my left knee about 5 years ago. I had out patient surgergy. Not fun.......good luck.

We're going on Alaskan Cruise in 8/05. Plan to spend 2 days in Seattle. Any help and advise would be great; where to stay, eat, visit, and best way to get to Vancouver. Thanks

Cool! Devin and I will be in California the last week of July, but August is open. We'll definitely have to get together one of the days. I'll show you some of the sights of Seattle. If the weather is clear, a trip to the top of the Space Needle is good. The view is fantastic! Then there's always the Pike Street Market or the Seattle Center (which includes a carnival, the Science Center and the Experience Music Project). We also have the Seattle Art Museum and the Aquarium in walking distance of Pike Street as well. So, you can see that there is lots to do!

Thanks for thinking about me. My back is better, but I overdid it on Thanksgiving and have been too miserable to even turn my computer on. Then I do and whammo - a whole new look to the board! I hope everyone had a great holiday too! Ours was very nice, but I must say, a little help would have been nice, especially with a bad back. But since John does a lot of the cooking I can't complain. I don't know what I would have done without him.

Thanks goodness, this year, my sis offered to host Christmas Eve or we'd have to have that too. Usually after the Christmas Eve/Day fiasco, John & I go to bed for a day or too. I tell me kids that they better enjoy the holidays when they are young! Okay, enough complaining! I am grateful for our wonderful families (really) and I am happy to spend a fortune on them and wait on them hand and foot (yeah, right) LOL.

I'm afraid that I don't have much info on hotels in Seattle. I stay with friends when I go to Seattle overnight. One of my best friends (Devin's godfather)lives near downtown. As far as getting from Seattle to Vancouver goes... no sweat! Get on I-5 northbound and you can't miss it! Once we get closer to August, I can get you good maps/directions to where you need to go in Vancouver.

Boy, I can't believe that it's December already. Fortunately, I'm about three-quarters done with all of my Christmas shopping already. And to those of you crazy enough to brave the crowds and idiot drivers to hit the stores during the holiday season... I salute you! (That's why I love shopping by catalogue! No crowds! No near accidents! And it all magically shows up on my porch!)

I also have only two and a half more weeks until my Christmas vacation. Two whole weeks - I can't wait. I really need some time off. I've been pushing myself too hard at work lately and managed to catch a cold from Devin right before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, if I don't get a flu shot every year I tend to take this kind of bug and turn it into bronchitis. Needless to say, because of the vaccine shortages I didn't get a shot this year and yup, you guessed it, I am fighting to keep this stupid cold from settling into bronchitis. (I'm not feeling too badly. Just tired and coughing like there is a seal trapped in my chest.) God, I hope that this isn't an indication of how my whole winter is going to go this year! Time to stock up on my vitamins!

I guess that I better get back to work! Too much to do and too little time to do it! (The story of my life...)

Hey CV, sorry to hear about the back. OUCH!

Mount St. Helens seems to have gone back to sleep for the moment. Nothing new to report on that front.

Devin and I are doing pretty well (other than the recent cold). Devin ended up losing his video game privileges because of his grades first quarter. The situation is open for renegotiation when we get the next progress report from school. He seems to be doing a better job of keep on top of things, so I expect that he'll get his video games back soon.

Ditto to everything Sue said except the weight is NOT staying the same. I am so stressed with school work that I keep snacking constantly. DH might have to roll me onto the ship!

We just got back from DW over the weekend & I have been trying to get caught up on school work, laundry, bills etc. I have been lurking & will continue to do so but I just like to check in every now & then & let you know I'm still here & keeping tabs on everyone!

Hi everyone

I'm supposed to be on my way to work, but as I was ready to walk out the door, I realized that I left my pocketbook (with my car keys inside) in DH's truck last night! We did some shopping and when we got back I grabbed some packages and forgot to bring in my pocketbook. So.... now I'm stuck in the house all day because we don't have spare keys here. DH has the other set of my car keys with him at work. I think it's time to get an extra set of car keys made up! And what bugs me is that I only work 1 day a week, and it figures that this is the day that I don't have my keys!

But at least now I have time to post and say Hi to everyone.

Andrew, welcome to the thread! We have a great bunch of people here, many of us cruised together a couple of months ago and had a WONDERFUL time, and met again for breakfast about a month or so ago.

Yes I see from the posts there is at least three of us from the good old UK.

(Don't tell the Americans but I paid for this from pocket money at the weekend, as the dollar is a ''little' bit low at this time).


If people think this thread is long and a bit mad, you should see the 08/20/2005 thread, I have given up they are all MAD! This one is rather tame in comparison.
