I belong to the 'barometer knee' club as well. Maybe we should get into weather forecasting. I'm sure that we could do as well (if not better) as the professionals. :rotfl:
Dori :umbrella:

Dori, Andy,

I guess nothing better to ease these knee's of ours is to soak in some warm water. Maybe some Caribbean water :cool1:  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

I like the way you think, Ed! :earboy2:

Yea, me too!!!

I was just laying in front of the living room storm door, letting the sun beat down on the rusty old knees of mine, boy, did that ever feel good. Then the clouds rolled in and blocked the sun, what a bummer. :guilty:

Hi,

Lots of March birthdays here too. My mom will be 87 years young on 3/4 and DS Harley will be 19 on 3/15. :bday: My brother's birthday is 3/5. And I feel old LOL. Wishing a Happy birthday to all celebrating this month.

Have a great day.

Bev

Jumping in with another March birthday - DS#3 will turn 22 on Mar 27th, which is also Easter Sunday.

My guess for page 200 is...Mar 27th.

Darlene

DS16 will become DS17 on March 23rd! I've always said that at least he had the decency to wait 2 weeks (he was 2 weeks late. LOL) so he was born in the SPRING :sunny: :flower: :sunny:

Ok, so now I have some news....

Because of the fact that now DSs would be missing the last 7 days of school because of all these snow days, we are *seriously* considering canceling our Royal Caribbean cruise in June and instead, extend our Disney World trip in July *AND* take DSs with us! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

John and I are booked right now at the Wilderness Lodge for 3 nights, but if we cancel the cruise and take the kids with us to Disney World, we'll most likely change our reservations over to the Polynesian and stay for 5 nights. :sunny:

While we REALLY REALLY were looking forward to the cruise, there are MANY MANY "pros" to canceling it and making our Disney trip bigger and better. Not to mention the fact that John wouldn't need to save all those vacation days for the cruise (its a 9-night cruise so would be using a lot of vaca days), also all the $$$$ we'd be saving by not going on cruise, PLUS we'll have the fun of another FAMILY vacation with the boys. :grouphug:

What do you guys think of this???

Terry,

With all you have going on right now, it sounds like to me that a "family vacation" might be a lot less stressful on you, at this time. JMHO

Best wishes whatever you decide to do!!!

Andy

Hello my fellow cruisemates

Before I continue, can I tell you here today in Wales is St Davids Day,so

Noswaith dda (Good Evening)

Cawl for tea, Daffs blooming, and my beloved Wales won the Rugby AGAIN on Saturday.

Happy St Davids Day, Cymru am byth!(Wales forever)

Mary: Hope your weather improves soon.

Tina: You wont regret 2nd seating we done it in August and loved it.

Bev: Hope you are ok, glad the sun is out today for you. Dont forget about meeting up in August if you can.

Andy: Hope the weather improves for you too. In case I forget, wish Hazel a very happy birthday from me on the 3rd. Stay safe and warm.

Ed: How is the snow with you, you are right about March being a busy month for birthdays , I have 12 relatives with birthdays in March including me

Dori: Hope the knee is holding out, now I would'nt mind a journey over to help with the t-shirts.

Darlene: Hope you are well, Happy birthday to all yours in this bumper birthday month of March.

Terry: I think the extended Disney holiday with the boys sounds good to me, but good luck with whatever you decide, I know this must be a hard choice, as I do like a cruise as well, but I fully understand where you are coming from.

To all my other cruise friends, stay well and warm and safe.

Speak soon

Nos Da (Goodnight)

Sue

Terry: This is just my 2 cents and it may not be worth that much :confused3 The trip in July was an Anniversary trip, I think you should still have that time alone with your DH. Didn't you email the Principal and he said it wouldn't be a problem if the kids missed school even if there were more snow days? You know your family best. You have a deadline coming up so I understand in needing to make a decision. If you and John feel that strongly about it then go for it. :)

Bev: Thanks for letting me know about Las Vegas. Since my Mom is coming up from Fla. to watch the kids I have to try and convince her the weather isn't so bad. :rotfl: I just may lose my sitter if she has seen the weather channel.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! As you can see from my 2 new countdown timers below, we decided to cancel the Royal Caribbean cruise, add on more nights to our Disney World trip, change resorts from the Wilderness Lodge to the Polynesian, and bring the kids with us! :sunny: John and I are both very happy with this decision. As a mom, I can see that our "family vacations" are numbered :( Craig will be 17 this month and while I think he'll always enjoy a vacation, afterall we're all cruising NEXT summer on the Magic, I feel this will be our last family trip to Disney World while my sons are still "kids", if that makes sense!

It's a done deal; I've changed flights and dates for John and I, and booked flights for the boys; I've canceled the Wilderness Lodge and booked us at the Polynesian; tomorrow I will send in the form to cancel the cruise (they need it in writing).

I have to say, as much as I LOVE cruising, I am very excited about the idea of this family Disney World trip, and so is John, and the kids are too! Since they ARE "older", John and I will have our anniversary dinner at the castle, without the kids, just like we had planned. They are looking forward to the chance to be on their own a little while at Disney World, too. Not sure how far I'll let them go, maybe we'll all go to the same park but let the boys go in one direction while John and I go in another, unless we all feel like doing the same things, then of course we'll stay together :)

Anyway, thanks everyone, for listening to me go on and on about this recently. It really had been on our minds a lot, but we feel great now that we've made the right decision for us. :sunny:

Hi everyone,

I just got home from Travel Agent school. I am so enjoying the school even though I had no idea how much work and learning there is. I feel I'm too old to be going to school but it's something that I wanted to do since high school (many many years ago). :teacher: I guess believing in Disney taught me - Dreams can come true.

Terry - It would be a shame to cancel your cruise but if you do decide to cancel, can you and John go away for a long weekend nearby to have some "alone" time and then do your family vacation at WDW. Or do a shorter cruise with the family later in the summer? Kind of like having the best of both. Then you'll enjoy next year's cruise more. LOL. We're going to be at WDW the week of 8/27 - 9/2 if you decide to go to WDW then. Good luck whatever you decide. I'm sure no matter what, you'll have a great time. (Also, your sons are getting older so how many more vacations will they still go on as a family? ) Just my opinion. :confused3

Sue - I didn't forget about meeting up with you and Vicki in August. I'm looking forward to it. I'll be flying into Orlando on 8/19 and staying at Buena Vista Suites for the day before the cruise. Leaving 8/20-8/27 for the cruise on the Glory and back to WDW 8/27-9/2.

We also have late seating. I have no idea who's linked together or how to find out. Would like to do the brunch also with my DIS friends.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Bev, we must've been posting at the same time! LOL Thanks for the encouragement. You hit the nail on the head when you said how many more vacations will we go on, as a family. I think that's why John and I feel so good about this decision to make this Disney World trip a family trip. Also, one thing that people probably don't realize or think about a lot is the fact that I'm remarried so my sons spend a lot of time away from home in the summer, so John and I do get a LOT of time alone together. :love2:

By the way, congrats again on going back to school! :teacher: I think that is wonderful!! I'm so glad you're enjoying it so much.

Count us in on the March b'day's. DH b'day is March 21.

Terry - I think you made the right decision. The amount of stress that this was putting on you was taking away from the joy that a vacation should be. Sometimes when we make a decision you can just feel that it was the right one and that is what you sound like in your posts.

Did I tell everybody that my Mother has decided to purchase a double wide in Venice, Fl. I am excited to have a place to visit but it means she will probably be gone at least a month or two every winter. I still rely on my mother for so many things. She will move there eventually and we will miss her.

Time to get to bed - still not packed and starting to freak out.

Linda

Terry: As long as you and John are happy then I am happy for you. :)

Bev: Your never to old to learn. Did you find out about the great discounts you will be able to get after becoming a travel agent? :teeth: I sent you a PM this AM.

Linda: 3 days and counting. You will get it all done. Have a GREAT TIME !!

Sue: Only a couple of snowflakes? I am more then willing to share you know. :rotfl2:

Doreen: Did you have school yesterday or today? My kids have a 1/2 day today. It's still nasty out there. They are already talking about another storm for Monday and Tuesday.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Linda you better get cracking girl.............only three more days to go, lucky you!!! We're down to 20 days and I can't wait, it might not be a cruise or a trip to WDW, but at least it will be six days away from this freezing cold NJ weather!!!

Bev incase you didn't see it, I sent you a PM. When will you be arriving on August 19th? We are meeting up with Sue and Vicki for dinner on August 19th at the Trails End Rest. in Fort Wilderness. Sue and Vicki arrive 8/18 and we leave 8/20, so we planned a dinner meet on 8/19.

I'm also thinking about doing a couple of days at either WDW or VB before our August 2006 cruise.

Morning all.

Woke up to another 1/4 inch of the white stuff. Just enough to have to use a broom to sweep the steps and driveway :sad2: :

Andy, Bev, Sue, wow, will be just missing you guys by a week. Im at Ft W the 6th - 13th. Then Traveling :moped: around Alabama and Tenn, Va before heading home on the 21th.

Of course my plans may still change some. I am bonus eligible at work. I will find out sometime in next two weeks if we are getting a bonus this year. If its big enough maybe a quick return to WDW might happen before I go home or pay off cruise :cool1:

Terry, Sounds like your plans are set. A family vacations sounds wonderful.

Well for some reason this morning when I woke up it was hard to get out of bed, but the dog had to be walked and the snow shovel. All i kepted repeating to myself. Be like Dori( the fish in Nemo), just keep swiming, just keep swiming. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Well back to work.

Terry:

I think you made the right decision you had too many doubts to go on the cruise. I think you probably feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders now. The kids are only young once and a family vacation is priceless in memory value.

My DH Bob's birthday was yesterday, so another March birthday here.

Just so we can keep it straight... The fish in the movie spells her name, Dory. (I checked the credits, of course!) :teeth:

Thanks, Lyn, and everyone. We're very happy with our decision. DH and I can cruise alone together ANY time, so we look at it that way, and are glad that this summer's vacations that both started out to be for just the two of us have evolved into this family vacation. :sunny:
