I kind of have a situation about crusing too, but mine is I want to cruise just the matter of crusing on disney or rccl now since I'm gonna be 19 or 20 next time I cruise. If I go one disney cruise I don't care how many people I travel with, if I go on rccl I want to go with friends, but who knows I just love crusing

Joanna: My DH likes cruising, and yes we're cruising in February with friends of ours from Canada, and he is definitely looking forward to it. :) It's not that my DH doesn't like cruising, he'd like to try other vacation destinations. He's been wanting to go out west to see the Grand Canyon and the giant redwoods, for as long as I've known him. I may have to take him to Disneyland. lol We've also been wanting to go to Europe one of these years.

Kay: It's just DH and I on the cruise in February (neither of our DSs wanted to go on that trip) and we're in a Cat. 5. We are on a waitlist for a mid-ship Cat. 3 for 2008, but we may end up not sailing in 2008. :confused3

Julia: We've sailed on Royal Caribbean. I think it's a great cruise line and I'd sail them again if the opportunity arose. :)

Hello Everyone...
See it must be MONDAYs that are really bad here.. I spent the day at one of our local ER'S with ELAINE today.. she was having numbness and a severe one sided h/a... Luckily after 9 hrs and many tests later she is home and safe...
Maybe I will sleep in next MONDAY instead..

TERRY... Just book one person for the room you want.. just in case you and JOHN only go,.. That is what I am doing.. It won't be the same without you there..I remember all the craziness you went through about cancelling and not cancelling.. Play it by ear..

JOANNA..Jaclyn loved AUSTRALIA.. she was in the summer of 5-6 th grade.. She did learn a great deal from their culture.. You do have to trust all the chaparone as well.. She was gone for 2 weeks.. Its winter time there in JULY.
The whole school system is different then ours. Talk about snorkeling.. The GREAT BARRIER REEF... the pearls, opals, the pictures.. They went on a real working farm and did work.. Stayed at 5-starred hotels.. She did call me 2-3 times at 3am and we talked. She was young so your daughter would appreciate it so much more at her age..

I would say go for it..What an experience.. when she came home though.. she slept for a week... during the day until she was back to our time change..
Let me know what you decide..

We are going to NYC this weekend..Monday and Tuesday. The school is in CHELSEA.. is that a good area or not really?? i need to find a hotel too.. and now there is one in Connecticut as well....So far nothing on Long Island Thanks for the offer though.. what was for dinner..lol

We did the Making Strides Walk yesterday for LIA SOPHIA.. it was great as Elaine said.. but my legs are so sore..

Have a great week everyone.. Andy.. btw.. nice link.. The kids got a big kick out of it too!!
DOREEN

Glad to hear everyone is doing well.. Surgery is fast approaching. YIKES!!!!

Before we had kids we did those "other" vacations. One year we went to California. One time Aruba. One time we did a week in Montana and then a week at a dude ranch in Wyoming.

I can see your DH wanting to do something other than the tropics.

Friends of ours are off on Sunday for three weeks in Italy.

The funny thing is that both DH and I were not interested in cruises at all. It wasn't until DB and family went on the Wonder right after 9/11 that we even thought about cruising. Then DCL introduced the western itinerary and I always wanted to go to Grand Caymen. The rest is history.

Doreen: I have thought of booking just a single cabin, just in case! Like I said, we wouldn't have been booking until our February cruise anyway, so we'll be discussing this again between now and then.

Poor Elaine, I hope she's ok! Please give her my regards, and a hug

Bev: Welcome back!! I hope you're feeling all better soon, and I can't wait to hear all about the cruise! :)

Terry...You crack me up :rotfl2: DH says no cruising for awhile and you say, Oh OK honey, no cruising BUT I am going to book a cabin "just in case" LOL I'll see you onboard in 2008 :thumbsup2

Doreen... Glad Elaine is OK. We have our informative meeting with people to people on Nov 5th.
Oh and dinner would have been a BIG pot of sauce with meatballs, spare ribs and of course hot sausage. Oh yeah and we would have had pasta and a nice cold salad. Are you hungry yet? Because I sure am. Did I say garlic bread?

Enjoy your night!
I'm STARVING!

:rotfl: I wish it was that easy!! :p I said I'm *thinking* of booking a cabin just in case. :teeth: The thing is, I know I could talk DH into it again, but I'd rather that he and my sons WANT to go, and not just because I've talked them into it. And if they truly do not want to go, then what's the point. I want us ALL to have fun on vacation, not just me. And this isn't to say that they didn't have fun on the cruises we've already taken, but none of them are interested in cruising in 2008.

By the way, I just saw my niece's pictures from her cruise last week on Royal Caribbean's "Freedom of the Seas". Wow! :3dglasses What a beautiful ship and what a lot of fun they had!! :sunny:

Beautiful sight on a beautiful morning.......we'll be on her in August. Can't wait to see the new adult pool area.

For those of you that thought XOP was bad - you didn't hear bad until you heard NTWINE. Now, they were bad!!!!

The cruise was so awesome. We were in a Cat 5 on deck 7. It was great going on the ship and having people remember us from the cruise we took in December. It felt like visiting family. There was special gifts we received at dinner to go along with a dinner show each night. The entertainment was fantastic. Each cabin had a lithograph in it of Lilo and Stitch made special for this cruise by Don "Ducky" Williams. We had the opportunity to meet "Ducky" and have him personally autograph this lithograph. The best part was - gotta go, to be continued.

What a tease you are Bev, LOL!!! :lmao:

We have a couple of Ducky Williams lithos hanging on our living room wall. One was from our special Eastern Caribbean cruise in 2004, and the second one was one I won during the silent auction on that cruise. I was abel to get him to sign both of the lithos!!! The free litho we got from the cruise cost me nearly $200.00 to have it framed at A.C. Moore, but it sure looks nice hanging up on the wall. The one at the auction I got for $350.00, but that came already framed.

Just wanted to stop on by and say hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Writing a paper for english class tomorrow...I hate it
I think I might watch videos from the cruise I made later/ :happytv: :happytv: :happytv:  :wizard: :cool1:

Anyone for 2009?? :sunny:

And no, I'm not kidding. LOL

This morning before work, John and I were talking some more about vacations and he said that he'd rather do something different in 2008, and then he said "Why don't we do a DCL cruise in 2009?? Robby will be 18 and then we can all hang out together".

And then just this afternoon I was talking to the kids and I asked them for ideas on what we should do in 2008. After we talked for a little while I said to them "So you're sure you don't want to do anymore cruises??" And Craig said "Why don't we cruise in 2009? Robby will be 18, I'll be 21, and we can all do everything together". I was very surprised to hear him say that and for a moment I thought he was just being funny and I thought he'd heard our conversation from this morning, but then I realized that the kids had already left when we had that discussion. So apparently, John and the kids DO want to cruise on DCL again, but not before Robby turns 18.

So...John and I are cruising and doing WDW in February 2007. Then we'll have a family vacation doing something else in 2008, then we'll be going on a Disney cruise again in 2009! :teeth:

I have to say that while I'll really miss not being with all of you in 2008, I feel great about this decision. Some of you might remember that I really had fun having Craig with us at Palo and Rockin' Bar D on this past cruise and I was sorry that Robby wasn't able to join us. So now in 2009 he'll be able to do all of those things with us. :grouphug:

So....anyone else for 2009?? :hourglass

P.S. We'll definitely be rebooking in February now, but with the plan to change that to a 2009 date. Does anyone know if there are any restrictions on how far out you can book and then later change to a new date??

Terry, 2009 could work for me and my husband, as we will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. OY-I really would like to take a special vacation with him, as it is a milestone.

ARGGGGHHHH...I lost everything I typed because I lost connection!

Anyway, Terry it makes sense to wait until 2009, BUT you should also think about a RCCL mega ship in 2007 maybe....August :goodvibes

Talk soon
Joanna

I think maybe I'll work every day and try to make enought money to go on rccl in 2007 since it cheaper then dcl and then dcl in march 2008 or sumer in 2008 or 2009 works a lota ways, then I can compare

Not sure what 2009 will bring, but that will be Beth and mine 20th wedding anniversary , so time will tell.

Still waiting for 2008 dates

Ed

OH MY GOD........2009 is DH and mine 20th wedding anniversary (mid August). Last winter I faxed a request to DCL inventory control for a suite for the middle of August 2009 and specifically mentioned its because we are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary.

We are so there in August 2009!!!!!!

I even printed out a calendar of dates in 2009 to see what dates in August we would want.

Yay! :cheer2: :goodvibes It looks like we'll have some friends with us in 2009!! :teeth: :grouphug:

And I'll be sticking around through the 2008 cruise meet threads too, if you all don't mind!! :smooth:
