Wow, Mary Rose, what a sage with the luggage. Is this the one that never made it off the ship? So it was never in that terminal where we pick up our bags before going through customs?

I'm glad you have a good sense of humor about it (at least here).

We're booked on the 3-day Wonder August 23-26th. We have four days at the WDW before then.

To describe last week, all I can say is

AWESOME :banana:

Terry - thank you for the leis
Tina - thank you for the pens and all the gifts and fish mail
Doreen - thank you for the bubbles
Anna - thank you for the magnets
Mary Rose - thank you for the pins, magnets and glow sticks
Diane - thank you for the name tags

Thank you all for making this such a MAGICal cruise.

Andy, Hazel, Angelina, Vi, Dori and Devin - we enjoyed sitting with you at dinner.

I have so many wonderful memories and so many pictures but where did the week go. It went by so fast. Didn't even mind not meeting my Prince Charming because "A dream is a wish your heart makes" & I do believe someday my Prince will come (I'll probably be out shopping and miss him) :lmao:

Glad everyone made it home safe.

Bev

Sue: So sorry for your loss :( :hug: Congrats to Vicki on her excellent test scores! My DS Craig starts college on the 6th, also! :teacher: I hope they both have a great first year! :cheer2:

Bob, Paula, Johna, and Jim: It was so funny, I think we were always in the same place at the same time! The trivia game was fun, even though none of us won! :p It was great to meet all of you :grouphug:

Mary Rose: You're right, I forgot that both of the Wonder cruises go to Nassau; I don't know why I thought only the 4-night went there. I guess we can look at it this way: Except for the 2 stops at Castaway Cay, we can consider the rest of the days on the b-t-b cruise to be "sea days" since one of the days we'll be on the ship in Port Canaveral, and the 2 Nassau days don't seem to offer a real lot. It might be fun to check out Atlantis though, I love a good aquarium! :fish: Let me know if you're seriously going to consider doing this... I realize you can't/don't want to make a decision any time soon, (neither can we. lol), but if you do decide to do it, or not definitely not do it, let me know! :teeth: The sooner I start to work on it with John, the better! I think once he saw that you and John might be considering it, he didn't say "no way" because we both really enjoyed your company last week! :sunny: Also, I cannot believe it about your lost luggage, especially considering which items got lost!! :confused: And I can't believe that both of us forgot to pack pants for our sons. :rolleyes1 LOL

So far, we don't have any "throw away" cruises booked at all! We're booked for the February cruise, but we're actually going on that one. LOL On that cruise, I'll definitely be rebooking *something*, but what?? A back-to-back Wonder for next summer? Magic for 2008?? BOTH?!?!? LOL

Oh...speaking of summer of 2008, my travel agent's guess is that they won't be releasing the dates and rates any time soon. In fact, he said they might not even be out by the time we cruise in February. This is a big change from last time, when they opened the dates and rates for summer 2006 back in September of 2004. The feeling is that DCL is going to hold off for a while in the hopes that more of the European cruises will fill up, including the repos. Ah well. Either way, I plan on rebooking *something* while on the Wonder in February. :)

Doreen: I can't believe how rude the security agent was. I'm sorry they tossed all of your toiletries, and there was no reason for them to be so rude to you. :sad2:

Jude: It was greating seeing you so often on the ship!! I have to admit, our suitcases are still lying on the floor of the livingroom. :blush: LOL They're half empty....but hey, they aren't going anywhere. lol I'll finish unpacking this weekend. :smooth:

Bev, Jeff, and anyone else who's just arriving back home today: WELCOME BACK!

And yes, Bev, the week definitely flew by! While the cruise in 2004 was much more relaxing than this cruise (the 3 extra days probably contributed to that. lol), I absolutely LAUGHED a heck of a lot more on this cruise than the last one! :lmao: :rotfl:

Hi Guys!

Terry - Right now I have a Carnival Cruise booked for next summer. I'd love to consider the reunion RCCL but unless Bev has some space that's probably out. I would really SERIOUSLY consider b-t-b Wonder Cruises next summer if you & John will (and all our other DIS friends too) We also really enjoyed your company last week. Meeting up late night at the Rad for drinks with our tech-geeks hubbies (said with love) really started the week off great. Add to that Sisters, Old Dis Friends, and New Dis Friends and it would be a week I would LOVE to do all over again. As far a Carnival is concerned, it's just so hard to imagine going on anything other than a Disney Ship. Oh, no DCL has ruined me for any other cruise line. What will I do when I don't have kids at home to go on DCL with me anymore? LOL. Wait, an idea for a third Disney Ship: The Disney Geezer. The cruise where it's the adults in diapers and it's because of the adults that the Mickey Pool is yellow :rotfl2:

Okay, it's official, I'm gone :rotfl:

Welcome home Bev! Thanks for sharing a ride with John and his new (now lost) shoes from Thrifty LOL!

Ski - Yes, as far as we can tell, the luggage never made it off the ship. Unless someone took it by accident and dumped it when they realized it wasn't theirs. OR, the bag took another ride on the Magic, in which case it's a very lucky bag!

Doreen - Sorry you were treated so poorly, and to toss you Clinique HOW DARE THEY! :rotfl:

Mary Rose

Hazel finished unpacking all our luggage today!!!

Welcome Home Bev!!!

We just arrived back home from Walmart as Angelina's new iPod was not working properly, luckily, we were within the 15 day return period, and were able to get the iPod replaced with a new one!!!

I'm back to feeling nearly 100%, I did get another nap in after work today, I think the extra rest has really helped.

I've tried to get Hazel to post before, but she really isn't interested in the computer.

Thrifty shoes now?? Did the cruising fever break you that much??

Oh no . not CARNIVAL..
Speaking of Carnival.. LYNN.. our dear friend. We went to SENIOR FROGS .. about 14 of us and we sat there in VERY LOUD LOUD music.. and waited for you.. we finally figured out that you were not coming..:(.. :confused3 someone had mentioned that the CARNIVAL cruise did not turn the clocks back as we did.. so we were actually an hr late to see you.. We got so excited when we saw a Carnival ship in port.. Please tell us what happened to you two??

Mary Rose.. I did a CARNIVAL.. it was nice.. but it was a FUN SHIP.. the people were not nealry as friendly as you guys.. our table mates did not really talk to us.. the food.. well you know how picky MARTY IS...lol enough said :rotfl: no ratation dining..and I am not sure about asking for extra at meal time..lol..
I really am hooked on DISNEY.. but do miss going to JAMAICIA.. I loved going there to DUNNS RIVER FALLS. I really dont want to western again..the adult shows are more R to X rated..lol. Did I tell you guys that we saw the vantrilaquist in the ORLANDO airport?? he got off in COZAMEL.. and he just got to ORLANDO.. I told him he should have stayed on the ship.. he would have gotten there sooner.. he came out the MARCONI'S RESt and posed for a pic with Jaclyn.. he was still talking about the 615pm show with the boy..lol and said he was still drinking because of him,,lol..

So are you really booked on that> :) I am not sure when college will start and where it will be.. so I cant commit now at all.. :confused3 You make it so darned hard you guys.. I hate being left out...

DOREEN

Hi all, I got back home around 8pm last night and was at work first thing this morning. I am so wiped out! It was great meeting everyone and I feel so bad for all of the people that I didn't get to meet or spend much time with.

Tina - I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Please give Chuck are best and tell him that you and all of his family is in our prayers. He brought a smile to our face everytime we ran into him.

Darlene - Glad to hear that Stan's surgery went well! Hopefully the Magic will continue and bring a run of good luck with it.

We booked a throw away cruise for 12/8/07 but we are already considering keeping it! We will have to see how things go - I would like to get to WDW this year and I don't know if we can do both.

Too tired to write anymore for now - talk to you all soon.

Linda

Sitting here drinking a chocolate martini,my second, and can't believe I have to go to work tomorrow!! I thought I had another day :rotfl2: only salvation, no kids until Tuesday :teacher:

DD Nikki wanted to know if we could do the 4 day wonder next August, seem some of the teens she meet will be doing that. only thing DD Gianna plays fall sports and it will be hard to do August from this point on.

A teacher/ travel agent friend went on a 5 day to bermuda cruise in July from Bayonne, thinking about that, otherwise we will be probably cruising in April 2008 on DCL

Where are my chocolates? where are my towel animals? where's PJ? and where in the world are JOHN'S SHOES????? :rotfl: :confused3

DENISE popcorn::

Hey Friends! Welcome Home Linda & Denise!!!

Okay, so I still unpacking some and I came across my UNUSED Cordless Smoothie Maker. Suddenly, my smoothie maker started to talk to me, funny, he sounded very much like "Tennis Ball". Anyway, SM said, and I quote, "Hey schmoe..... you buy me, schlep me in a car, in an airport shuttle bus, on a plane, in a rental car, on a cruise ship, back on a shuttle bus to the rental car, back in a rental car, back on another plane, back on the airport shuttle bus, and back in your car, and I remained UNUSED!!!!!!!!!! Then SM said "Tell your DIS friends you all need to go on another cruise where I will make delicious smoothie drinks for all. A party where Doreen & Denise will bring their elixirs and I can be used and appreciated!!! And then you know what SM said? "If you ask them, they will come. And if they come, you will find John's shoes" :rotfl:

I think I need a vacation!

Mary Rose

Mary Rose...you are cracking me up. :rotfl2: I thought I was having problems adjusting to my real world.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To all the wonderful people I met during this cruise, thank you. All the things you did made this cruise the best one we've had....so far. This was suppose to be our last family DCL cruise, but our DS asked for the next one to be the last one. .....Right. :lmao:
I know I will forget to list some of you so please forgive me....
Mary Rose and John......... it was such fun getting to met you. Ace really enjoyed hanging with your family. Thanks for the pins and magnets. And thank you for all the arranging you did for this thread. Thanks for sharing the internet too. It was nice to pop online for a few minutes here and there.
Terry and John...we really enjoyed running in to you and all the times we got to talk. I'm glad you are enjoying your pillowcases. Door signs are next. :thumbsup2 Love my green leis!! And thank you for all that you did for the thread too. :cheer2:
Andy and Hazel....it was nice getting a few moments to talk to you at Chuck's Open house. It was like having a private audience with the DCL Ambassador. You two are wonderful people. The world is a lucky place to have you two in it. Thank you for making this cruise, and the one in '04, very special. We treasure our post cards, shirts, and magnets. Hey the shirts will last longer than the one my DS bought in Mexico. It lasted 1 washing.
Chuck and Tina....you know the special connection Ron and Alex have with you fellow fishermen. I think Alex found someone who understands his passion. Ron told Alex about the place in Cape Canaveral to go fishing, so they are planning that before the next cruise. ....Thanks Chuck.... ;) And I love using my special pens.
Jeff...it was fun talking to you at the internet cafe. I hope your trip was eveything you wanted it to be for you and your family.
Doreen, Marty, Elaine, Daniel, and Jackyln....you were a pleasure to get to met. You are so lucky to have each other. You seem to be a party all by yourselves. Alex says hi to Dan too. Best wishes to your health Doreen, and to Marty's back. I hope the pain goes away soon for you.
Karen....glad I got to met my cruise exchange pal. It has been fun creating with you over the months. I wish I would have had the chance to run in to you more....next cruise.
Anna.....the magnets are terrific! We will have them forever. It was fun seeing you in the theater so much.
Ed...we really enjoyed talking to you. Of course, we can't forget parasailing. That was a highlight of our week. Do send me you email address so I can send you the pictures.
Moire....it was great meeting you and your family, especially your sweet little girl. I wish I would have had the chance to really talk to you. Thanks again for all the treasures in our cruise exchange box. We will always remember you.
The brunch was fabulous, especially with the Thrusday group. And tea was better when it was shared. Next time won't be just Ron and I for dinner. Party of two? What kind of party is that? Can you tell we've been married almost 27 years?
Loved the group picture. I wonder how many copies they sold?
To everyone else that I missed listing.....it was fun being part of such a wonderful group of people even if it was just to say to you knowing you were part of all this too. I know my children, especially Ace/Alex really enjoyed meeting so many of the kids that were part of the Stack group. I think he think we should always travel with this size of a group. It would be fun wouldn't it?
It was an amazing vacation. Now we are back home waiting for a ton of rain to wash away our weekend. It has been weird in a way. Before the cruise I only knew most of you through a box sitting on a desk. Then you all came to life. I come home, and you're all back in the box again. Surreal.
Also, I am having a reversed Cinderella experience. I was treated so well on the cruise, now it is do your own laundry, fix your own food, vacuum your own floor. Something is just not right. I hated the first night looking out my kitchen window and seeing trees. Where is the water?
I started back to my preschool this week to start putting the room together. I don't get the children until the 11th. I was given the wrong class list. I made all the tags, B-day signs, etc. for another class. At least that teacher was happy about it, she hadn't had the chance to do anything yet. I did the ones for my class today.
I think that's it for my brain. Take care all, especially if you live on the east coast.
TTFN,
Shirley
HI all
One more day left on the road, we arrive home tomorrow,
Tonight we check into the Sheraton in Reading Pa, and I find out I was picked as the Most Fashionable guest of the day
my name was on a sheet of stationary in a frame on the front counter,
They delivered a plate of watermellon, cantolope and cheese to the room, along with a coupon for a free pay per view movie
A nice surprise for our last night of vacation.
We have been staying ahead of Ernesto
night all
Ed
I remember reading about a family being picked as the family of the week. What does that mean?
That was Jude and her family. Hey Jude, we want details about being Family of the Week!!!!!
Not sure if we're the ones they were talking about but we got picked as "Room Service Family of the Week". My 11 yo DS thought it was the coolest thing. Diane from Room Service called and explained to him that in addition to the regular room service menu, we could order off any menu offered that day. I could only hear one side of the conversation and just kept hearing "wow...really??? anything??? does that include chocolate shakes...this cruise just gets better and better!!!" :rotfl2: I had no idea who he was talking to or about what til he finally handed the phone to DH. They also sent a tray of snacks down every day - one day it was cookies, another was a selection of cheese and crackers, another cookie day and - my favorite - chocolate dipped fruit day! Diane and the folks from room service were great. They even gave Kevin a little letter naming us as Family of the Week. It really made his trip! (ours too but boy, was he excited). If I could figure out how to post a picture I'd put one up of Kevin and his favorite CM Diane up on the boards - I'll have to ask my tech geek DH (said affectionately of course!) to help with that!
It was such a nice thing to do for us and totally unexpected. And it's something Kevin will always remember about the cruise.
I'm not in the Internet Cafe but my own computer at home. I'm working from home today and still tired.
Mary Rose - thank you for starting the thread. I didn't totally unpack yet but since I went to Thrifty with John, I'll check to see if I have his shoes. :lmao: I heard so much about your smoothies, it's a shame to have to wait it use it until next year on a cruise. I think we should have a post Dis meet where we can make your smoothie maker feel used and get to share all our pictures and memories. Hope you get your luggage soon.
Terry - thank you for keeping up with this thread and all that you did. Thanks for arranging the Palo brunch. It was the first time I was at Palo's and it was so much fun to be there with friends.
Andy - thank you for everything you do. Thanks for arranging dinner at Grill's. Thanks for making those wonderful T-shirts and the door magnet. You and your family are truly special people and I wish you all the best.
Tina - thank you for doing the room list. Thank you for planning the cruise gift exchanges. That was alot of fun and great getting and buying gifts. Thank you for "TAG". It was exciting to find it on our door. Who ended up with it? And thanks for all that you put into it with all that you were going thru. Thank you for planning the Parasailing for us. I can't wait to do it again. :rotfl2:
Darlene - how are Stan and Sandy doing today?
To everyone that wasn't feeling well, I hope you get better soon.
To everyone on this cruise, thank you for being you. It's because of you that this cruise was truly MAGICal. :thumbsup2
Bev :sunny:
P.S. Junior suites are available for next year.
I can't believe vacation is over! I can't believe I'm back at work! I can't believe I got through all my e-mail! I can't believe school starts next week!
I wanted to take a minute to thank Tina for the welcome note (the kids loved the sparkle confetti), Anna for the mouse ears for the room number, and Andy for the magnets.
I didn't get an opportunity to meet many of you, there didn't seem to be enough hours in the day! I never even got to sit by the adult pool! Golly, guess I'll have to go back :) .
Good morning everyone..Shirley,.. that was such a sweet note you left... What a great summary! I am going into withdrawal for sure. You are right. I go to the kitchen and expect a menu to be handed to me.. Dwight and is not there to tell me what to choose.. I didnt ask to be woken up from that great dream...
MARY ROSE.. one of my "elixiers" didnt make it home thanks to the TSA agents.. I think my suitcase really enjoyed it.. I too had my brand new smoothie maker with me... never touched it.. a 7 day is much to short for us DISERS... :lmao:
Bev.. where does the computer work better at home or COVE CAFE..lol I loved going there and getting served my cold coffee smoothie drinks.. Now Dunkin Dounuts is just 5 blocks up the main road. but its just a bit different to have to get dressed to go there vs putting a bathing suit on and shorts to go to COVE CAFE..lol Have you heard from TINA??
