2007 As DCL is coming closer to us in the Med I have booked an 11 day cruise there, 2007 is a Europe year for us and sorry ot say not USA, Ihave this one in August for three weeks then thats it to at least 2008! before returning to USA.

Doreen: Your story did make me :rotfl2: I just would feel so bad for you if it turned out to be true for you.:( So here's :wizard: ahead of time for happier trip down to Fla. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Ed: Being that this is your first cruise I would wait and even see if your family likes it. This Aug. will be my 5th cruise............If it's for you then once you start I don't think you will be able to stop. :rotfl2: Next year's cruise kinda puts us building our home and moving to Fla. a little bit on hold. It will be the last family vacation for our oldest DS who will be 17. We figure the money we will be saving on airfare & hotel alone is worth it. :rotfl2:

We got the most exciting parcel I have ever received in my life today. :Pinkbounc :jumping1:
Let me start by saying that the family we were so LUCKY to get as out cruise exchange buddies provided a Christmas atmosphere better than any that Scrooge could have provided to Tiny Tim on Christmas morn… It was that good! And I do not exaggerate! :teeth:

We got….

Captain Mickey and Minnie soft toys, plus two Mickey standing characters to welcome us to our first cruise :earsboy: :earsgirl:
Two Flower Leis, for our stay in the Polynesian and for our Caribbean cruise
A bottle of bubbles for our sail away party
Misting fans (next to impossible to get here) for the heat (and we’ll need it, we are whiter that milk bottles here!)
Little Mermaid Sunscreen – fantastic idea for the rays!
A waterproof camera, for all the pool pictures and Castaway Cay pics too!
A Lime green Antennae topper in the shape of Mickey.. never seen in Ireland before and as well as being the DISer colour, it’s our national colour too!
Sand pails and shovels for Caoimhe to use at the beaches… she LOVES them.. and they are a perfect size for packing..
Red and Blue Mickey pens. These will be used by John and Moira in work to remind us of the upcoming trip!
Pink embroidered baseball cap with silver sparkle princess tiara and the words “Always a Princess” on it;
Tinkerbelle Purple Sunglasses for the long sunny days we are expecting!
Disney Cruise Line DVD – older version but absolutely fantastic (Doreen, thank you so much for ordering the DVD and offering to post it to us). We were glued to it for over an hour!
A pack full of brochures, on The Polynesian (including their newsletter), and brochures on lots of the parks.
A lovely letter (2 pages long) detailing the fantastic effort our family put into this gift. Truly spectacular.

Caoimhe is currently standing in front of me with a pail in one hand, shovel in the other, baseball cap on head, glasses on eyes, Mickey under one arm, Minnie under the other and her mother has tears streaming down her face as she types this! Generosity like this does not come along everyday, and to say I’m flabbergasted is putting it mildly. We are one happy family here today! :woohoo:

Thank You to our family, you know who you are! :love1:

:thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

Moria: I got the " Chills " reading your post. What A Great package ! :thumbsup2 It must really be getting your family excited now for your first Disney cruise. :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Oh Moira...I am so happy for you and your family. You brought tears to my eyes reading what you received and especially your DD just as excited. I'm glad you found the DIS boards and I hope you enjoy your cruise.

Ed...Just remember if you like cruising, that in 2007 you won't even need airfare or pre night expenses as you could drive yourself in a matter of hours.

Bev...I too can't wait to see what DCL offers in 2008. My DD turns 16 in 2008 and is (after years of trying to convince her) is actually thinking of a Mediterranean cruise. But she said she isn't happy about being on a plane that long. So I told her you always have the Panama Canal or Alaska. We will have to see where DCL goes in 2008, I am kind of hoping the same itinerary as they have now for 2007.

Doreen...The ship we are going on is not the Freedom of the Seas but is a mega ship. It is the largest ship RCCL had before coming out with the new ship. It has rock climbing, mini golf, ice skating and Ice skating show, inline skating to name a few of the activities. So think about it.

Joanna

Hello everyone! While discussion of the RCCL ships is welcomed on the DIS boards, conducting business on the boards is not.

5. ADVERTISING: The only commercial advertising permitted on these boards, are those that are contracted through the site. Any posts that are deemed as advertising for a commercial interest will be deleted. Commercial advertising is considered to be any individual posting for the purpose of promoting a for profit organization not directly affiliated with the DIS. Visitors are free to share their experiences with various companies, but anything considered advertising will be deleted and the user will lose posting privileges without discussion.

Thank you for your cooperation.

After a busy day of checking out this awesome ship, I just wanted to drop in and say hello live from the Freedom of the Seas to all my DIS friends. This ship is huge and very nice. My problem is that I keep comparing it to my personal favorite ship - DCL. The flow rider, which is the surfing pool, looks like it's lots of fun (but hard). There's a rock climbing wall, miniature golf, basketball, & ice skating, (none of which I personally do). It was really special riding past the Statue of Liberty. Going to the casino now. I'll be back on line Wednesday.

Hi Jen, :wave2: I filled out my online documents about three weeks ago and printed off the main one to be signed, just to get them out of the way. And there was no problem with it at all!

Joanna, there were tears in my eyes too I can tell you. :goodvibes I'm not normally a sop like that but they were so thoughtful, we were delighted! We watched the DVD together and Caoimhe couldn't stop saying "Oh MY Gosh... look, look!" And I had to try and prise the Captain Mickey and Minnie from her when she was in bed, there was no letting go!
Now I have put everything (bar Mickey and Minnie) back into the box as John wants to open it with us when he is back this day week... I think he feels like he's missing out but we have promised to watch the DVD again in full and give the same reactions as we did when we saw it first!

Tina, We are now worse than ever! :bitelip: Caoimhe is now marking off a calendar to the date we leave, though she doesn't understand how long a month is, let alone three! We have a communion on Saturday to go to, so that will be nice and my mother's 70th birthday party is on the following week so we have a busy few weeks ahead to keep us distracted! :teeth:

Moira. :sunny:

Good Morning Everyone :surfweb:

Just wanted to let you know that my cruise package is being mailed out today :woohoo: Of course it was easy to go over the $$ limit but I had fun shopping!! :Pinkbounc Been reading what fellow cruisers have been getting and it sounds great!!! :cheer2:

Can't wait to meet everyone on August 19th!!!! :boat: party:

Remember May 21st is the "MAGIC" day that some of us can book our excursions!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Have a Great Day everyone!!!! :wave2:

I am on the Freedom of the Seas. It is awesome but I love DCL. I can't help but compare ships. Anyway I briefly went on line and saw that I accidentally posted something that was considered to be advertising. I apoligize. It was not meant as advertising. I just feel that the people that I have meet on this thread are like family. I was just trying to help them get a better rate etc and keep our family together. I never thought of it as advertising but I can see how some people might have. Again, I'm sorry and now that I am aware of the rules, it won't happen again.

Good Morning from the Disney Magic docked at St. Maarten,

I had a new adventure this morning. I got to see the inside of the Health Services. The sore throat and earache wasn't getting any better, so I stopped in to see the ship's doc. He told me I have Laryngigis(sp) and an ulcer in my throat. The ulcer is causing the pain. I'm just glad it wasn't strep throat, because that's what I thought he was going to say it was.

Hazel is up in the room trying to get sleeping beauty up so that our room can be cleaned. I'm going to meet them up on deck 9 for a soft and cool lunch. Other than the throat problem, as is well, and we are having a great time. I added a few more pics and report to My Blog earlier this morning.

Tonight is Pirate pirate: Night, and I am looking forward to having a great time with everyone!!!

Bye for Now,
Andy

Bev: Just my 2 cents for what it's worth........I believe it was a innocent mistake. I believe everyone deserves a 2nd chance and as far as I am concerned this subject is closed for me. :grouphug: Glad you were able to be on the Freedom, even only for a short time. Did you get a chance to try anything on deck? How was the food?

Ditto for me, Bev :sunny:

Off home now - my working day is over :thumbsup2

PS Andrew, I would love to live in the UK, my brother and his family live in Leeds and we go over regularly, it is a beautiful part of the country. Was in Legoland recently and it was brilliant.. flew to Heathrow and hired a car, saw Windsor Castle in the distance but will definitely do a tourist day in London soon! :sunny:

Denise: If you didn't wrap up your package yet..........yes you can write a little note. You can put your screen name so they know if it's from you. The person will post when they get the package just not who it's ftom till EVERYONE get's their packages. Does that make sense? :)
