Hello Everyone from Ireland.

Brand new to this and a little shy  but hopefully I can learn from all of you! Just read this post (which took a long time!) and now I'm really excited! :yay:
Have never been to America before, let alone a cruise there, and we are spending a week in Orlando first, then the cruise.

Really looking forward to meeting new people, and so is my husband and daughter!

Nice talking to you (hopefully I'll learn correct terminology!)

:thumbsup2 Moira ...

Welcome Moira and family!!! :welcome:

Thank you for the PM, I've added you to the list of cruisers on Page 1 :grouphug: I see that you're staying at the Polynesian resort. It's my favorite Disney resort, it's beautiful and in a perfect location, I think you'll love it! I have pictures from our stays there, on my web site. The link is below in my signature, if you'd like to take a look. :) I hope you enjoy your first visit to the US. Between Disney World and the Disney cruise, I think you've made some wonderful choices!! :sunny: Please feel free to jump into the conversation here. Some days we're chattier than other days. :chat: lol

Been busy making plans for the drive home after the cruise,
We will be driving back to CT via a quick trip to Gatlinburg TN, then a slow drive on parts of the Blue Ridge parkway.

Plan on making it home just before the traffic builds for the Labor Day weekend.

We are starting to get my DW passport renewed and get one for Caitlin.
While it isnt needed this year, but nice to have. It will be needed next year.

Happy Weekend all.

I just received info on contacting someone at DCL regarding making a group reservation for Palo. I've left her a message with my email address and phone number, and I'll send her an email too if I don't hear back from her by next week.

The private dining room at Palo evidently holds 12-14 people. In my message to DCL, I told them we'd have a group of that size. If we have way more than that many, I'm going to find out about simply having reservations out in the main dining room of Palo, but all of us at the same time.

When I hear back from DCL, I'll post here with the info. I really don't know how many of you all together are interested in dining at Palo with a group, but it'd be nice to get at least 12 of us, so we can book the private room. Otherwise, it'll still be a lot of fun just to have reservations at the same time.

Updates to follow, as I hear back from DCL... :sail:

Just thought I would check in its been very remiss of me I haven't been looking at the cruise meets threads for a while just the main DCL forum. But booking a Med Cruise for 2007 reminded me to check out these threads.

I have read back the last 20 or so pages and pleased to see my name is still on the first posts as coming on this special cruise.

Our plans are a week at Universal Royal pacific resort then this cruise then the Polynesian, Just converted our WDW reservation to include the free dinning plan.

If you have any plans please update me.

Terry: It's funny you mentioned this. I can give you my experience on this. I took care of making reservations for our Dis Brunch on our last cruise. The private room holds 14 people. The service charge of 10.00 per person was charged to our account. We collected from everyone the day of the brunch.
All 14 people showed up and all 14 people payed. :thumbsup2 It was a great time by all ! I had my wedding cordinator take care of it.

I would be very interested in the brunch on the 2nd sea day. We are doing the romantic escape package so that includes Palo. If you don't mind I don't get a chance to have dinner with Chuck alot during the week and I think we will have Palo by ourselves. Afterall if all our time is spent together how do I explain to kids why we didn't bring them if this is our delayed honeymoon? :rotfl2:

We would be interested in linking our dinner reservations but at this time we are waitlisted for the early one. Although, if it doesn't change, that's okay with us too. We've done both. I just like going to the shows after dinner, and having a longer period of time after dinner before going to bed.

DH and I would be interested in some of the Palo arrangements.

I tried making a reservation with David and Ivan a week ago and still haven't heard from them. Did anyone else have this issue. Their web site does say it takes a little time. Thoughts???????????

I also tried to email David and Ivan 2 weeks ago and haven't heard from them either. We are interested in a morning tour of the Chacchoben ruins. Don't want to be in the sun all afternoon. I hope they email me back soon, but will probably try them again tomorrow. I think the Disney Chacchoben ruins tour doesnt even begin until noon and I hope to be back to the ship by at least 1.

I did email them at another address listed on their site. I'll see if this one works better. I'll post if I hear from them.

...I've seen some other cruise groups do this...

Now that it's almost time to pay off the cruise (May 21st, I believe is the deadline), many of us will begin to think more seriously about excursions and activities onboard the ship, so I'm thinking of creating a page on my web site where I can list each day of the cruise, and list who's doing what, and when. For example, on the day we stop at Cozumel, I'll list the excursions people are going on, such as the "Fury Catamaran Beach Party". This way, we can see which excursions other DISers are doing. Same thing with Palo. I can list who's doing Palo, which meal (brunch, tea, dinner) and when.

I'm going to go start on this new page now. When I get at least something posted, I'll add the link here. And I'll also add the link to Page 1, so it'll be easy to find in the future. :)

Ok, here it is! :sunny: http://www.brownfamilyvacations.com/html/CruisingCastaways.htm

Not much on it yet though.... LOL
