Has anybody ever stayed at the Amerisuites Hotel in Orlando? We can get a suite to hold all 6 of us for $52.00 through Expedia. I don't think we will be getting into Orlando until 10:00pm on Friday so I want to stay in Orlando. I don't care if the room isn't that nice as long as it is clean & safe. Also has anybody rented from Avis? Do you know if they have a shuttle to the port?

Tina - Have you booked your flight yet? I think we might fly Air Tran out of Rochester. It is going to be at least $300.00 cheaper than flying out of Syracuse.

Linda

Hi Linda,

We used Avis for our first cruise and yes they have free shuttle service to and from the port area. We had no problem with using Avis at all. We used Budget for our last cruise and didn't have any problems with them either, they also offer free shuttle service.

Andy

Hi all,

While we have six months to go,
I took a look at the magic today as it was passing the twoplams cam

Thought you like a look

Hello BOBBY and CINDY,.. where have you been.. The last I heard from you , you were taking about transfering.. I am so sorry to hear about MELISSA.. is that someone you work with BOBBY.. I did MAPQUEST.. and its over 5 hrs away on a SUNDAY .. a bit to far to go on a school day..I am sorry.. I will make a donation however... and keep her in my prayers..

LINDA.. that was some storm we had here.. I still think TINA had something to do with all the wind.. :goodvibes Over on the other side of the road from us. BEHIND ALLEN ROAD school.. the telephone lines are at a 45degree :tilt: angle.. and still no power...
I can imagine how cold it must be. I think it was a high today of 15* :cold: .. The SYRACUSE airport got 67 mph winds inthe mornings.. and most of the area schools closed early here.. as did LINDA'S area of CENTRAL SQUARE..

DARLENE>> prayers to STNAS mom,, and hope that she can get to an assited living home.. You have enough to take care of with Stan and SANDY... take care my friend.. and remember we are here to listen if you need us.
Doreen

Doreen,

I used to live behind Allen Road school and went to school there from 2nd thru 4th grade. Such a small world. I also can't imagine no heat today. We just went out to dinner and froze. While we were out to dinner my husband realized that his wedding ring was missing. We looked thru all of the napkins (he was eating chicken wings) but no luck. We are just going to have to keep an eye out and hope for the best. I think we need to check the puppy poop for a few days.

Hope everyone has a good night.

Linda

Andy - Thanks for the advice. I didn't think that Budget had a shuttle so I didn't even try them. I just checked and they are $30.00 cheaper on the way to the port and the same price on the way back. I think I will be booking with Budget.

Can anybody tell me how to turn my Glory ticker off. It just reminds me how long it has been since I have been on vacation. Although being in the swaying building yesterday did remind me of being on the ship. :crazy2: Thanks.

Linda

Linda,

Just select user link on the left side of the tool bar,
Then just edit your settings , All you need to do is remove the html link that has the glory settings

Ed

Linda that whole area is still without power even today... The NATIONAL GRID trucks are all over ALLEN ROAD and the streets behind the school...
So we go down to Brookeheavan and turn to CHESTNUT to go to RT 11.. I cant imagine being with out power still..

Your husband must feel awful about the ring.. Have him check his poop too!! :rotfl2:

When do the OLYMPICS end?? We are watching it tonight and man is it SNOWING!!!.. The poor people doing their sport in the cold.. brrrr!!!

Terry.. how are you doing?? getting ready for your vacation this week?

LINDA and TINA when are we going to get together and meet up before the cruise?? name a time and if I dont have a show to do... Lets do it.. I am there...
Tina you have many friends here (esp me).

Doreen

We found the ring - it was in our bed. My daughter found it late last night. What a relief that was. It isn't a valuable ring but still didn't want to lose it.

Ed - thanks for the help. Hopefully my signature will be without the Glory Cruise ticker when I post this.

Doreen - They are saying only 150 left without power so hopefully the power is back on over there. I am up for a meet whenever you guys are ready.

Hope all had a good day - I layed around all day and didn't even get dressed. I haven't done that in so long.

Linda

Doreen: I can get blamed for the rain your way , maybe the snow but now the wind? Nope I am not buying it. :rotfl2: When the sn*w is gone and it's not coming back :duck: I will drive your way and we can have a mini meet. :goodvibes

Linda: Glad you found your husbands ring. :thumbsup2 Now if Alexandra named the puppy, I hope she is taking good care of her. paw: My kids are doing o.k Jonathan is having trouble in school. High school is much harder for him yet Brooke is still getting Honor roll and there is competion between the 2 of them. Ugh ! Sending you a PM about the flight info.

Joanna: Hope your enjoying your cruise ! :boat: :sunny:

Bev: Did you get over your Virus yet? Here is some PD in case you needed some. :wizard:

Ed: As cold as it's been here lately it was nice to see the picture of the Magic. Thanks, :)

Start of a new week..........Have a good one everyone. :cheer2: Tina

Ed: Thanks for the picture of the Magic :boat: :sunny:

Our snow from the blizzard is practically all gone due to the 60 degree temps we had last week, but it's been bitter cold the last few days! :cold:

We enjoyed our weekend in Boston and the boys loved seeing Les Miserables for the first time. They've known the words to all the songs for the past 10 years, and I'm so glad we finally had the chance to take them to see it performed live. :) In a couple of hours I'll be getting ready to drive to NJ. I can't wait, I'll be staying with my niece for a couple of nights, then my sister for a couple of nights. We always have fun together, and my niece has scheduled massages for us for later this week :cloud9:

Well February is more than halfway over, and next month is SPRING! :sunny: :flower: I'm trying to think warm, positive thoughts here, as far as the weather goes. lol

Hey we are at the 5 month mark ! o.k it's 5 months and 4 weeks but it's still nice to see that 5 instead of 6. :rotfl2: party: :woohoo: party: :woohoo:

 Hi All,

I'm spending the last day of my four day weekend relaxing in our cozy little abode(for now anyway). Thanks to Lincoln and Washinton, I had Friday and today off as township holidays!!!

I spent about 12 hours over the weekend putting a surprise photo show together for my mom's Surprise 70th Birthday Party that we are having for her next month. My mom is flying up from Florida to watch Angelina in her first high school musical production of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." Last year the school did "Les Miserables" but Angelina didn't sign up to be in it, and by the time we went to purchase our tickets, the show was sold out for all the shows. This year, we bought our tickets at the parents meeting the first night the tickets went on sale, LOL!!!

We are also busy planning Angelina's Sweet 16th Birthday Party that will be held in September. This party is giving us a dry run on what it will be like to plan her wedding reception. So far, we have the hall rented, the caterer has his deposit, and we have the DJ all lined up. I have also started getting the address list put together, well, at least I have the family members addresses, I'm just waiting for Angelina's list of friends and their addresses, LOL!!!

Well, I guess that's it for now, we do have to run out to the mall this afternoon, Angelina needs to get a new pair of shoes for the musical.

Andy: That photo show sounds amazing. :goodvibes Wow that party puts me to shame. :( Jonathan will be 16 in June and I haven't even made any plans yet. Any ideas on what to do for a boy? :confused3 I guess I could give a party but I don't think I want to go that route. I know he would LOVE a :car: but I can tell you that's not going to happen either. Oh gosh can't even think about him driving. :scared1: Tina

Luckily, we don't have to worry about Angelina getting her driver's license until she is 17 here in NJ!!!

We ran into some friends of ours at Friendly's when we were at the mall earlier today. They said there son is turning 16 this year and he doesn't want anykind of birthday party, he is getting too old and too cool for birthday parties. So, I don't know what to tell you for a boy that is turning 16.

In Mexico, where Angelina was born, the girls are given a big party when they turn 15, it is like a coming of age thing I guess. About two weeks before Angelina's 15th birthday, she asked if we were going to give her a party like that. I told her she is an American now, and we could give her a Sweet 16th party if she liked. The other week we started talking about it, within a few days, we had almost the whole party planned. We are using the same hall, caterer, and DJ that Hazel's niece used for her wedding back in October.

Living so close to the Mexican border we have many young Mexican girls who celebrate "La Quinceañera." The following is from La Quinceañera: "The transition from childhood to womanhood is a significant passage for adolescent girls in almost all cultures. In Mexico, it is marked with the celebration of the Quinceañera, or 15th Birthday. From a north-of-the-border viewpoint, it may be seen as a cross between Sweet Sixteen and a debutante's coming out party. The celebration is a way to acknowledge that a young woman has reached sexual maturity and is thus of a marriageable age."

It is a BIG thing for a young girl celebrating La Quinceañera. From picking out the dress, to the hall, food, music, etc. They can be as expensive as a Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah or evening a wedding reception! HTH

Thanks TootyJane, I had read this before. I did a Google search on the La Quinceañera last year after our DD asked about it, but it takes more than two weeks to put an event like this together, especially to make it nice.

Our DD was joking with us yesterday while we were at the mall, she said, "Hey dad, maybe we can make this a two for one deal if Jake asks me to marry him." I didn't think it was that funny, as she still is "MY" baby girl!!! I'm not ready to let her go just yet!!!

Hello Everyone
I know this question has been asked before so I am sorry...........Is the majority people going to get pirate costumes? I was going to get them after Halloween but never got around to it.
