Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

o.k guys if you don't mind I need to vent or I feel like I am going to explode ! I am having one of those days and although it's trival compared to what some of the other people are going through this is my release. I have been running around all day and nothing has gone right. I have been in more pain today then in recent days and I just want to rest. I called Doctor's AGAIN today to try and find out results because I am leaving on vacation Saturday. She tells me that's why I have a appt. set up for end of Aug. I said no I have to get bloodwork done and we will discuss results of bloodwork. That was yesterday. I get same thing today and still no phone call back. There was a problem at my sons bank with him taking some money out. Lonnnnng story I was there for 45 min. trying to straighen it out. They mixed the account numbers up and there is one set that is court ordered that he can't touch till he is 18. DD wanted to get her hair cut a LITTLE shorter. Afterwards I saw her and I almost she cut 9 inches off !!! DD likes it but that's not what we agreed on. The lady said she was sorry but will that give me her hair back? Had to get 3 prescriptions filled and it was 90.00. That is with Ins. o.k I am done ! I needed that. I hope to get some rest tonight. Tomorrow is a new day and I will pack, pack, pack. Tomorrow my disney package will come and put a on my face.

Tina--I trust tomorrow the sun will come up, and you will have a better day. I've had days like that, feel free to vent and get it off your chest, it will make you feel better!!!

O.K. the pain pill is kicking in, I've got to go lay down for a little bit, before I fall on the floor.

Dave did have the ctscan of his chest done today - without dye, with dye.
Now to wait for the results.
Havent heard when they want him to start having his blood drawn.
He's in bed early tonight - told us he hasnt been sleeping lately.

How long does it take pathology reports to come back? If they do Dave's biopsy Tues the day they take the tumor out will we know results by Friday of that wk?

I have to say Im no longer as concerned about a hurricane (not that I want one!) However it may be a good thing for me to be forced to delay our vacation. I hope that came out ok

I did tell Dave last night that this grp of DISers is sending along Get Well wishes and pixie dust - He said Thank everyone for me.

Tina: Feel free to vent here anytime. You must be so frustrated with the doctor's office! I'm sorry you're feeling so much worse lately, too.

Barb: When they did my biopsy, I went back to the doctor's office a week later for the results, but I'm sure they get the actual results in, way before that. Maybe you can arrange to find out the results ASAP, after the surgery.

Andy: Thanks, I will be sending you a PM for Darlene and Stan's address. I have it here somewhere, but it'll be easier to get it from you. Thanks.




Just wanted to let you all know that I've posted the pictures and reviews from our trip. Well, the resorts and restaurants so far. Still haven't done the parks yet. The links to the reviews are in my signature, right above the countdown to our cruise. If you want to take a look, I hope you enjoy seeing them.

We were supposed to be leaving for NJ today, and I had wanted to wait until Saturday, but because of plans for Robby for this weekend, we'll be leaving tomorrow (Friday) morning. I'll post this weeks countdown before I go

Good Morning Everyone
I feel a little silly about last night but it did help thanks. The hardest part about the whole thing is when I am in pain I have pills to take but feel like I can't take them because I can't drive or function around kids so it's a catch 22. I did take them when they wen't to bed last night and got the rest I needed by no choice.

Barb: I am no expert and this is just my 2 cents for what it's worth......... If they take it out on Tuesday I doubt you will find out by that Friday. I am STILL waiting for my Doctor's to get results from the polyps they removed. May not be the same thing but they are still doing a biopsy on them. Still wishing much luck through all of this and hope it all works out.

Doreen.k Sunday Aug. 28th it is. Pick a place and time. I will check on mapquest I think it's about an 1 1/2 hourdrive for me. Do you know a place that's between you & Linda? Can Jacklyn come? Anyone else game?

Ed: Funny your's and Andy's package both in Georgia. Yesterday mine showed it was only 30 Min. away and I couldn't believe I didn't get mine. I just have to get it today !!! Wasn't that a GREAT sale ?

I wish I could say yes, I feel better, but that's not the case this morning. I got up, got ready for work, got out in the car, and I had a shot of pain so bad as I went to step on the gas peddle that I came back in the house. I will be calling the orthopaedic office when they open at 9am, and see about having Workman's Comp approve for knee surgery. After waiting 2 and 1/2 weeks, there was still no approval for the Synvisc injections, Lord only knows how long it will take to get approval for surgery.



I would like to thank those who have sent me a PM requesting Stan and Darlene's mailing address. I know the cards that are going to be sent will be an uplift to them at this most difficult time.

Andy: Sorry I feel your pain. Well I did yesterday. So far today I don't have any. I am off and running so it's a good thing. I can't believe they haven't approved those shots. I don't understand what's the big deal. Worse case maybe go to ER and get a shot? will they cover that? Good luck

Barb--take a deep and cleansing breath, now try and relax for a few seconds. I didn't know what else to say, but I thought that might be a good start.

Is this what you and Dave are talking about? If so, I'd wait to hear what the doctors have to say. I'm sure you are quite stressed out, and at times, waiting seems to take forever.

Dave told me he needs another test done - a renal ultrasound which he's hoping to be able to move up to tomorrow

Just talked some more. Dave actually seems to be doing okay. He's scared but seems to be dealing w/all aspects

9yrs ago Dave was hospitalized w/divertickulitis 6days before we were all due to leave for FL. Told doc he needed to be better so he can go.
This time he told doc he needs to be better so his wife & son can leave for FL and leave him w/a few wks of peace & quiet - lol

57 weeks to go!!!

I will be leaving in the morning but taking my laptop, so I will be able to log on from time to time. I hope everyone takes care, and those with the more serious problems, you are on my mind and in my thoughts.
