I called this morning at 7:00am to make my dinning reservations. Not one restaurant was available for the dinner package. We are going with my sister-in-law and her family (3 kids) and this is their first trip to Disney. They all wanted to see Fantamic because they heard so much about it from friends. It is only showing 1 night while we are there. My DH and I both said that it is crazy to wait 2 hours for a show when we can be seeing so much in the park. What should we do?? I will keep calling to see if there has been any cancellations but do we really need to get there 2 hours before the show to get a seat? Thanks everyone !!! :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Unfortunately, without the dining pkg and only 2 times per week for Fantasmic, waits for a guaranteed seat have been well over an hour or more and even than you may have to stand. You can't even send part of your party to wait and hold seats because 1) they only let people in till it is full, and it does not matter if you tell them your party is in there and 2) they do not allow seat saving.I Know in one instance there was a very upset gentleman trying to save 5 seats , and the Cm told other people to move into those seats that no seat saving was allowed. They have been adding a second showing, but sometimes not until the morning of do they make a decision to add a show and announce it .

The show was a wait to begin with. Now that they have cut the showing down I don't see much of a choice but to wait in line to see it. It was an hour wait when it was showing every night. Now I can't even imagine how long of a wait it is. On one hand it's a great show & worth the wait. On the other hand you will be taking up a lot of time from doing other things. It really depends on you & what your plans are.

I just called back and was able to get a reservation and sci -fi at 5:50. I have never been here and heard that the food is just ok. I now that this will not help with getting us in but I guess I will just have to keep calling to see if something opens up. I think it is crazy that I called right at 90 days and everything was booked. I know that it is because they cut back on the shows but I am just soooo bummed out. OH well !!!!!!

It is a total bummer, but kind of expected .Fantasmic is extremely popular and a must do for a large % of people. They cut showings down th 2x per week and you still have the same large % of people wanting to get in.As for the dining pkg, those people still have to wait a significant amount of time too.But more like 45mins-1 hr instead of 1-2 hrs.

We called today & we were able to get the Fantasmic Dinner Package at the Brown derby for Thursday May 14th. It doesn't say on the DIS park hours that it is showing that day but they assured me on the dine line that it is. We'll keep our fingers crossed!!

Are you 90 days from the day you want the Fantasmic Dining Package for, or are you 90 days from checking in? If you're not 90 from the day of dining, I'd call every morning at 7am eastern to see if they release some more tables.

Be flexible as well, Brown Derby, Mama Merose and Hollywood and Vine all offer the Fantasmic Dining Package.

It sounds like you guys have a fairly large group. Did you try getting split into 2 or 3 different tables?? I had to split our group of 6 into two tables for our Dinner at Le Cellier (we could have had a later ressie together, but I went for 6:15 with two tables!). They did tell me that they will "try" to seat you together, although it's not guaranteed. Anyways, if you haven't tried to split up your party, I'd call back and try again. --Katie

You can now book Sci-Fi as a Fantasmic Dinner package?

Re-read their last post.
"I now that this will not help with getting us in"- I read that to mean they got an ADR in DHS but not the dining package. So I'm guessing (with no research) that Sci-Fi still doesn't do the package.

Isn't the 2x/week fantasmic just for the slow season? I'm sure it will be more often than that during May, no?

Ah, you're right - I missed the negative in the sentence, just thought that they were getting in! I know at some times in the year (at least in the past) they have opened up other restaurants to include the package, so I was just wondering if Sci-Fi or 50's PT have been included, since Fantasmic is being shown so infrequently this year.

The 90 day + 10 rule is kinda unfair for the Fantasmic package. People checking in on Saturday or Sunday gets to book it up before Monday check-ins. I tried two days ago and couldn't get the package either. It's only showing 1 time during my trip.

That's why I am wondering if they release some/more of those on the actual 90 days. So if you call in on your 90 days before check-in, but you're going to Fantasmic on day 2 of your vacation, the ones that are released prior to 90 days are sold out, but they'll release more packages 90 days before the actual day of the show.

Thanks Tricia !!!!!!! When I called today it was 90 from check-in which is May 6th. I was trying to book it for the following day May 7th. I will call tomorrow morning and see if I have any luck. Thanks everyone !!!!!!!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Good luck!!

Sounds like a lesson in basic economics. Disney obviously needs to start charging admission for Fantasmic. There seems to be more than enough demand for the show's very limited supply. I know I'd rather pay an admission than sit and wait for 2 hours with my ADHD 5 year old! Perhaps if they charged an admission, they could also start adding additional shows back as demand justified.

I heard 3x/week

yes, they're not really upping the showings much even during the busier times. It's been at two times a week Jan and Feb and they're only upping it to 3x a week so far at the end of March when we're going, which is peak season. I wouldn't expect May to have more showings than Spring break.

I called today and talked with a wonderul CM. She gave me all of the night "show" times for Fantasmic, Wishes, Spectro Magic and IllumiNations. She confirmed that the week we will be there in May there will only be two showings of Fantasmic. I believe we may skip it since my boys are so young. Waiting around for it and then possibly having them scared is not worth it to me. I missed it on out honeymoon eight years ago thanks to sun poisoning.
