is this a "full day" park or can it be done in half a day or a long evening?

tia!

Are you travelling with kids? We just got back from our trip - travelling with a 5 year old and we really enjoyed California Adventure. We spent at least the equivelent of 1.5 - maybe 2 there. There were fewer rides she could do but the crowds were smaller and we did many of the rides over and over. We really enjoyed the shows, and just the overall feeling - a little more laid back. You probably could do it in 1/2 and day if you really wanted , depending on crowds but you would miss alot. You also need Make sure you watch the animators show outside the animation building.

In order to best experience Disney's California Adventure Park, the Disneyland Resort recommends that you allocate at least two days for your visit.

That being said, it is quite possible to experience a large segment of the Park in one day.

We do a half day there every day we are in california. we love that park and try to do every ride there each day. There are some hidden treasures in that park, like seeing the disney animation room, where you can see the rose from Beauty and the beast.
We do a show a day also, one day Aladdin , one day play house Disney. We find we can do more in this park on a crowded summer day.
We get all we can done on one side of disneyland, then head over to DCA , do that park for several hours, head back to our motel or resutrant out side the park, rest up, maybe take a nap and then head back to Disneyland for the evening hours festivities.

One thing I noticed when we recently went to California Adventure is that the park got very crowded with teenagers at night. We went on a Friday and while the daytime had a family atmosphere, at night there were teens running amock, particularly at Paradise Pier.

While I have nothing against teenagers, it was very noisy and they were running all over the place. We had a group on TOT that screamed the entire time. I couldn't hear a thing that was going on on the ride.

To get the most out of the day, I'd recommend going earlier rather than later. I think the SO Cal passes make it a great place for local teens to hang out, which gets the place crowded evenings. Disneyland seemed better at night because there were more places for people to spread out to.

Oh, and don't miss Aladdin! I love that show!

I don't think of it in terms of how many days for each park because we hop back and forth several times each day. Since DCA opened I have never spent an entire day in just one park.

Since we go in the summer, DL opens first. We go there for the less crowded morning, then go over to DCA around lunch time. Then come back to DL for evening. We do this each day and we have found a min of 3 days is best. This summer we are going for a week, so we'll see how that is.

I've experienced the same even on POTC. Teenagers are so silly and obviously in need of attention when they do this. It's so rude. On POTC once we had a boat full of teens and they were screaming the whole time just trying to freak out first timers or something. Ridiculous.

I agree; Aladdin is awesome!

Ditto! Ditto! ditto! We do the same even in the winter.

I agree with everyone else. If you spend a 1/2 day there, you can probably do the rides, but you won't "see" the park (if that makes sense). We usually hop back and forth, I like DCA and really enjoy spending time there. I am excited to see what it's going to look like when they are done with all the construction. :thumbsup2

As an extreme lover of DCA, the thought just pains me that people try to do it all in half a day. We've been there many times in the last 2 years and still haven't done it all! Haven't even gone on Mulholland Madness! We just love the atmosphere there, we like to just BE there.
