Ok I am lost. We are having a morning wedding. My DF is not liking the idea of a traditional cake that early in the morning. Any suggestions?

Have you considered a dessert party for that evening?

Well you could try cupcakes instead. That seems to be really popular now. Ok so don't think I am crazy but you could also offer mini fruit cups (Filled with fresh cut fruit in Chocolate cups). This could work since each person has their own individual serving it's light and funky. I am not sure if it helps but its an idea!

Belle1981- I really like that idea. We can feed eachother fruit instead. He would love that. :thumbsup2

We are trying to really keep the costs down, so I dont think a Dessert Party would work.

That looks yummy! Do you have any idea of the cost involved or how to order this?

I'd imagine if you had the stand then you'd just have to pay for the donuts...
you can always call the orlando store....Phone: 407-447-5285
they can be more help...

The only thing with the donut idea is that I don't think Disney will allow you to bring in any outside food what so ever. You could always see how much they would cost to do it but it would probably be ridiculous.

Are you having an intimate or a custom? The reason I ask is because we are having a custom at 9 a.m. (Epcot). Then our "cocktail hour" starts at 10 a.m. (I don't think many people drink that early though! :rotfl2: ) The reception will begin at 11 a.m. and I don't think the cake will even be served until well after noon, so that eliminates the problem of cake too early in the day.

If you are having an intimate, with the cake cutting ceremony after the wedding, I'm sure many people have had morning intimate weddings before. Some other people have not eaten the cake at their cake cutting ceremony because they were going to head to dinner shortly afterward, and I believe they usually just get it boxed up to eat later.

I'm actually getting married at Shades of Green and its about 40 people. You have all given me some really good ideas.

I have a similar problem. Our wedding is at 10am in the morning, we worked out the time for the ceremony and then the cake cutting recieption it would be around midday. Our idea is to have our cake boxed then we are going to a restuarant in Downtown Disney for a lunch and having the cake there.

Our wedding planner gave us a list of all the restuarants that are open around the disney resort at that time. Then we checked out allearsnet.com which gaves us the menus (sister is a fussy eatter).

This could be idea.
