Hi all,

I have got a question regarding the reception at the Grand Floridian. We are going straight to the Sheraton for them to hoste our reception. They have said that it's OK to bring the cake etc.

Does the Disney Photographer go to the reception to take pictures of us all at this event or do I just get Disney to just box the cake so we can take this away and set it up at the Sheraton?

Any advice is most welcome :)

Thanks
Bekki

Hi Bekki!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

My guess is that Disney Photography will not follow you off property for the reception. Of course, you should talk to your coordinator to be sure.

I'm assuming you are having an intimate/escape wedding. That package includes a photographer for about 2 hours. Usually, that includes a few pictures before the ceremony, pictures during the ceremony, and pictures of the champagne toast and cake cutting, as well as a few other traditional pictures. In your situation, you might want to make sure you have discussed your plan with your coordinator to make sure you get the 2 hours of photos!

I notice you are a UK bride...and I think that means that you will automatically receive the hi-res CD/DVD from Disney Photography without the additional $1000 charge US (and I believe Canadian) brides have. You might want to confirm that with your coordinator as well.

Your other option to have a photographer for your reception is to consider going with an outside photographer for that event only.

Good luck and let us know what you find out!!

Hi Bekki!

Here's a little advice about the cake. We had an intimate wedding followed by a reception at Shades of Green. Since we used an outside photographer instead of Disney, we had the option of doing our cake cutting pictures at the Grand Floridian or at Shades of Green. However, my coordinator told me that after they disassemble the cake at the Grand Floridian, they aren't always in the best shape. She said they stick a knife in the middle of the cake, slide a knife between the two layers, and then slide the layer off. So we did our official cake cutting pictures at the Grand Floridian, then had the rest of it boxed up to be served at Shades of Green. We figured we might be able to display at least the top layer of our cake. Our cake didn't get too messed up when they took it apart so the whole thing was reassembled at Shades of Green. But, as you can see, it still didn't go back together quite right.

Anyway, hope this helps! :goodvibes

Hey, Do you mind if i ask about your reception at the Shades of Green? I've got loads of questions! I'm looking for a place to do a reception for an intimate wedding, we are having about 20 people.

Where is the Shades of Green? How many people did you have? What is the place like? Could you give me an estimate of hoe much it cost? Any info would be very much appreciated! I hope that's not too many questions!:flower3:
