Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

How far out were you trying to book Afternoon Tea? Please let is know what the Reservations team tells you about the timing and process.

I asked for a reservation for 1st January. And then I saw the price! I just replied it was a bit more than I was expecting so would pass this time. But the lady was super helpful replying.

For that price I would want to know exactly what I was getting, vague 'chef selected' is an absolute pass. I don't like fish and can't stand mayo which is in so many finger sandwiches, I typically double up on cucumber and the like instead. Not that I can even eat bread anymore but the principle still stands. I remember tea at the GF letting me sub some things from the children's menu.

How do I contact the Reservations Team? Is there a direct phone number for the Boardwalk location?

If "Chef-selected" is indeed the name of one of the Afternoon Tea options, we should see a listing of all the offerings under this option soon. I don't expect customers to be blindly served with random dishes.

I passed the phone number to my cousin who promptly made the call. She was able to reach the Boardwalk location and was told that they only make reservations 30 days out at this time.

I've seen it before, usually with cheese plates on dessert menus. Then you have to rely on the server to give you accurate information because it tends to rotate often as a cost saving measure. Whatever they have is whatever was available/cost effective. For example, maybe the chicken salad didn't sell as well the day before so they use the left over as today's finger sandwiches. Not having it printed on a menu also means it's easier to miss allergens.

Hopefully they will have an actual menu for the Afternoon Tea offerings. I wouldn't want the "chef-selected" version either after reading your experience.

No, yes to Open Table Web or app, and no for 2025. They loaded 30 days last week in the Open Table app but we are now back to 1 week.

I just called the Boardwalk location and was told that they are taking reservations up to 25 days in advance. HTH someone! :) I need to wait about another week before I can reserve for my own trip...hopefully they won't be changing their policy again because I'm having to monitor this thread daily to keep up to date with all the changes!

Yes it has been a challenge to keep up with the latest developments with dining reservations. Your update of 25 days appears to still only apply to phone reservations.

The Open Table app and web page are still only going 7 days including the current day on a rolling calendar basis. The Open Table reservations are disappearing at a good pace.

Yes, I'm finding the same thing...OpenTable only shows me 7 days out, so I was surprised that the CM who answered the phone said they were accepting them 25 days out. I also thought 25 days was kind of a random sounding number, but maybe that's just because I'm not in the restaurant business? 🤷‍♀️

Yes 25 days is odd but it does make sense that they accept phone reservations over a longer time window. I expect that CBS is still working out the restaurant startup phase (Soft Opening) at this point.

Using the OpenTable app and/or the Web site costs the restaurant money vs using phone reservations. Many restaurants never offer all their reservations via OpenTable just a percentage.

The other 2 CBS locations offer OpenTable reservations more than 30 days out - currently through Feb. 16.
