Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

I just called the Boardwalk location and was told that they are taking reservations up to 25 days in advance. HTH someone! :) I need to wait about another week before I can reserve for my own trip...hopefully they won't be changing their policy again because I'm having to monitor this thread daily to keep up to date with all the changes!

So they said if you call you can book that far out? Let us know if you’re actually able to get one when you call back please!

I’ve seen quite a few posts regarding reservations at the restaurant but what about just picking up items from bakery side? Is there a “best time” to go or just a long line all day? I don’t see option to use mobile order.
Update: I just called the Cake Bake Shop and was able to make reservations for 12/6 and 12/11.

There are two different venues in the same building: the bakery where you just pick up what you want and the restaurant. If they plan to have mobile ordering I imagine that would be set up after the soft opening. I doubt the place has been open long enough for anyone to hazard a guess on the “best time” to go.
Glad you were able to get the reservation you sought.

Just walked by there yesterday and was able to get a spot that someone let go because they saw the prices. If you know the restaurant business, its in a soft opening so seating and serving is in training mode. Let me tell you that this is a serious upscale expierence with ingredients and offerings that are for people who appreciate the effort and routine of going out to eat and what that entails. Its not meant for convenience. It wasnt just good, its was extraordinary.

We had breakfast yesterday at CBS yesterday. We are staying at Boardwalk so I picked up a reservation on open table last week. We ate at 7:30 and it wasn’t very busy. Our server was fantastic! The decor is absolutely beautiful. My favorite resort is GF and this would definitely fit there.

It was Dh, myself, and our 2 kids 9 + 7. I had noted that we were dining on our anniversary. As much as I would have loved to eat all the carbs and cakes, I do much better with protein so I ordered the egg, sausage, potatoes and toast. Dh got the same thing. We tried to get bacon and a side of bacon for the kids, but they were totally out of bacon. DS got the choc chips waffle and DD for the pixie pancakes. The kids and I also shared the blueberry crumb cake ( got the bottom part with the blueberries and the kids split the top with no blueberries. I also got a coconut latte.

Everything was delicious. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the egg were a bit wet, but that’s a personal preference. Ds proclaimed the waffles the best he ever had. ( the cup of choc sauce really brought it to the top for him) I dislike tomatoes and forgot about the included salad, so those were picked off. The potatoes and eggs were standard and fine, the toast was elevated a bit by the raspberry jam that was tasty. Ds also got a bowl of berries (with glitter) with his waffles that I got to eat. They were all and perfect. I also loved my coconut latte.

We used our Disney visa to get 10% off. Before tip, it was low $70’s. Compare this with our breakfast the prior day at Trattoria which was in the 50’s(both before tip) When we arrived, our server didn’t appear for 10-15 minutes. Besides ordering we almost never saw her. CBS server appeared instantly. Downfall of both was it took over 30 minutes for our food to be ready. Cake Bake shop was a little easier to wait, since we had the crumble cake. Our CBS waitress did apologize for the wait. Our Trattoria waitress probably didn’t notice we had no food since she was MIA.

I had planned to go to the bakery at some point this trip but ran out of time. Will definitely be back at some point if in the boardwalk area. Looking forward to Xmas decor. My kids loved it. They thought it was fancy and constantly commented on how expensive it must be.

When they first announced pricing, I said absolutely not to going. Once they readjusted the kids meals, we decided to give it a shot. We were very happy with our meal. While the cakes look great, I have a hard time with those prices since I bake a lot and pretty well, plus I prefer different flavors then what they offer. It is a great option for special occasions.

Awesome review. Thanks! Still, $70 for breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids is bordering on ridiculous.

How am I "confused"? One ridiculous price is not mutually exclusive to another.
People with a car have numerous money saving dining options.
My complaint is with the quality. Scrambled egg breakfast at CBR was below the garbage served at free breakfast buffets, at 2.5* motels.

And people on here have the right to voice their opinion on the gross pricing of this place. I still think it's funny that they just completely dropped their $78 charcuterie board appetizer when people freaked out about their menu prices.

It isn't valid to complain about " gross" pricing when the pricing is similar to other restaurants in the area. Breakfast at the Ale and Compass is similar.

Complaining about restaurant pricing at WDW is valid. Singling out CBS not as valid.

People are complaining about a business which lowered their prices?

Thank you to all for your opinions on CBR. I think most of the TS restaurants at WDW are overpriced, especially for the quality of the food. That said, I decided it won't stop me from checking it out. I got a res for our upcoming December trip with friends for a breakfast hour. We may just have cake and coffee, we may go all out. I know if I like it, I will try to get another res for my family when we come back together in February, or at least for myself, daughter and granddaughter. We will be staying at the BW and the place looks "storybook beautiful", so I'm open to taking my girls.

Disney is expensive and that's not slowing down. We have changed the way we vacation there....less park time (by alot), NO souveniers, and breakfast foods and snacks bought at the supermarkets instead of on property. We take our own toiletry items, such as cold meds, ibuprofens/tylenols, sunscreen, even bandaids, to avoid getting stuck buying it in the resort stores. By redirecting our vacation dollars, it makes the restaurant or special event prices easier to tolerate.

So...I am excited to know I got the reservation and I hope we like it. Plus, I LOVE cake....so I'm really looking forward to it.

Wise you, to think about how you spend your money and not dive in head first. This year I rented DVC and will serve mostly home cooked meals to cut down on expenses. Like you, this should allow me let me better spend on the few restaurant meals I want as opposed to need.
Enjoy your next visit 👋🏾

Another warning to keep discussions on this thread civil!
CBS is a signature dining place. It's priced accordingly.

The real issue. Some people were hoping for a moderately priced restaurant or even a food court. CBS is the exact opposite.

Posters are right. It would fit the GF. Irrelevant CBS is located in the space Disney offered.

Thank you. You too😉

Sure DIS member are free to complain or share their opinion on anything relevant to that topic or topic adjacent.

Why is it not valid to single out CBS? That is the topic of this thread.

The price adjustments only impact the initial pricing, they will generally go back up and we all know it. CBS was just trying to address the opening controversy about why this location was not in sync with other comparable pricing.

There are still many things that members have complained about. CBS does not fit into the Theme of the Boardwalk, it is too fancy or it is too white in it's color palate. Businesses determine their own pricing and customers and potential customer decide if it is actually popular with customers or is a "One and Done".

My (friendly) counterpoint to this is that while the style may not be traditional "boardwalk," it does feel feel very reminiscent of Victorian style shore towns in NJ like Cape May or Spring Lake.

I do have to admit if they were going to try to emulate the Jersey shore though, I would much rather have had an Uncle Bill's Pancake House instead of CBS, and a Peace Pie instead of Blue Ribbon Corn dogs 🤣 but that's just my personal preference.
