Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

I’m so mad about this. Don’t they usually announcement when the prices will increase before they actually increase it?

Never. It just happens, it’s the right time for it though as they last did it Oct ‘23. I got caught last year in the hike as I hadn’t gotten around to renewing, didn’t make that mistake this year!

After hearing about the price increases, I wondered if Cake Bake Shop would just put the original menu back on display

It is not a good look for them when they post their opening menu, have a soft opening, then drop the price of an item, the croissant, by 50%, then reduce many other items, and raise a few more.

Given the multiple delays in opening dates they never looked very certain in what they were doing. This just adds to that impression.

That trick never works on me. I’m a “rounder”. You tell me 39.99 I automatically round up & think 40.

I do the same as you, rounding up to $40, while DH rounds down - he'd say the price was $30! We've had a few discussions about that....

I've been checking every day for an ADR for December. Not showing up yet.

All of Disney is becoming just for the rich. They are actively pricing out the lower and middle classes. Walt is turning over in his grave.

For our family, Disney World has always been just for the rich. My parents couldn't take us when we were kids. I didn't get there until we were successful adults.

Indeed it is! Fortunately for him, he has other redeeming qualities that allow me to overlook this (and check prices for myself before committing to a large purchase).

I wasn’t planning to go here on our next trip because of the menu prices, but now that the buttered noodles on the kids menu are only $13.99 it feels like a bargain

Soft Opening​

The Cake Bake Shop sits on the end of Disney’s BoardWalk, as you head toward EPCOT. This morning, the bakery is open from 7AM to 11AM, and the restaurant is opening at 4PM.

The Cake Bake Shop
Starting tomorrow, the restaurant will be open from 7AM to 11AM for breakfast, and then 11AM to 11PM for lunch and dinner.


No time for a sit-down meal? Don’t worry! The Cake Bake Shop Bakery serves many of their signature baked goods daily from 7AM to 11PM.

Initially, Cake Bake will only take walk-ins. Reservations will be available in the My Disney Experience app sometime within the next couple of weeks.

As of 7AM, The Cake Bake Shop Bakery is now open! Gwendolyn Rodgers was there in person to welcome the first guests.

Yea that was very disappointing for me too.

I’m hoping that some of the removed entrees (chicken piccata, steak frites, I think a tuna dish) are rotated back onto the menu at a later date. My guess is they removed certain dishes due to costs, whether food or labor.

Yes, there was a tuna sandwich also removed, replaced with a gumbo.
