Boy, it's been a loooooooong time since I was over here on this board! I have finally convinced my brother and sister-in-law that it is time to take my nephews (7 and 4) on their first Disney trip. We are toying with the idea of the cabins. We would have to have two cabins for both families. I think I remember reading something in the last few days about rehabs being done to the cabins. Can anyone shed any more light on this, please? When are they starting, what's being done, and does anyone know when the project should be complete?

Thanks!

I can't seem to find any dates on the rehab. You might want to call front desk. They are replacing doors, updating furniture and some painting.

I called the front desk and asked. The very nice CM placed me on hold to check and kindly reported NO, there is nothing on the schedule for the cabins. :confused3 :) not even doors and rugs.
She also said she can not understand why cabin guest would of been asked to move to another resort.

sounds to me like you need to talk to another cm, there are posts all over the resorts board shouting that they are being moved to other resorts from the cabins

I was there last week and could see them replacing the doors on some of the cabins. I think it was the 2100 loop, but I didn't pay that much attention.

I was in the 2500 loop, and nothing was going on in there.

I called again and was told no, and I came to the conclusion the front desk is in DENIAL. ;)
I read on the resort boards that disney can be pretty tight lipped about going ons,

just to be sure i am not a bigger idiot then normal, the number under fort FAQs
407-824-2900 is the number to the front desk right?

We are going to stay in the cabins for the first time Aug 9-20 and I requested loop 2500. It looked good on the map! What can you tell me about it? Is there a pool nearby? What about laundry facilities?

The pool and laundry is between 2500 & 2700 so your OK. :thumbsup2

The pool is right next door, as is the laundry. You can probably walk to it. The loop is one of the smaller ones.

I loved it there, plus we got one of the really private cabins in the center of the loop.

I could have moved in.

How did you do that? Would I just call FW directly? I know requests may or may not happen, but it would be nice to be close to...well something ha ha.
