Anyone know anything about this cabin?? Noisy??? What sort of noise?? Window view?? Obstructed or normal??? Any info will be appreciated!!!!

it should have a normal view (not obstructed) but it is very far forward & maybe under a nightclub (or service area) which is why (I guess) it is on the noisy cabin list (that or the anchor), but 2006 is not, so it can't be too bad. it is very far forward, not a good location if you are prone to seasickness, but fun if you like to feel the little bit of motion that you feel.

Definitely unobstructed window view.

It's possibly under a nightclub - Sessions/Cadillac Ranch. That nightclub has very little activity - none of which is noisy. It'll be a quiet room.

I spent 7 nights in 2518 - slightly less forward and on the other side of the ship than 2004. It's listed as a noisy room being under Diversions, but we heard absolutely nothing upstairs. The only noise was from a little girl next door that cried from time to time.

I've read here but haven't personally confirmed that some of those forward cat 9 rooms have a little extra space due to the curve of the bow.

We stayed in 2000 and 2002 and were very noisy and I can sleep through lots of noise.

I stayed in 2504 on the opposite side of the ship. It was very quiet and a bigger cat. room by about 4-5 feet. It was listed as a "noisy room", but we never heard a peep and my husband is an extremely light sleeper! Our room steward told us that rooms 2502, 2504, 2002 & 2004 are bigger rooms due to the bow of the ship. I wouldn't hesitate to ask for this room again. It was also nice because there wasn't any foot traffic up at the front!

Is there anything that fills the space? Any chance you have a picture of the room?

Thanks,
Sam

After reading the first few replies, I was REALLY nervous, called DCL, but there are NO other cabins available for our cruise. Thanks, EagMommy.....I do feel better after reading your response!!! I'll just hope for the best.....and the best would be that the room is a little bigger than the regular Cat 9's!!! I'm cruising with my 6 month old and two young teens, so am quite nervous about SPACE!!!! Also, NOISE!!!! The CM I tlaked to todya didn't seem to know anything about the different cabins... Sounded surprised to hear that there is a list of NOISY cabins, and had no idea what the SPACE between the window and the edge of the ship was ??? I have no doubt we'll have a fabulous time regardless....

The extra space in the room was between the nightstand and the couch. We had enough room to store our luggage there instead of under the bed. There would also be enough room for a porta-crib. I loved the extra space. There was also a little extra space between the couch and the window. Also the window stuck out at an angle and my kids couold sit in the window and look out. They loved it. It really was a great room! I'm not sure if I have any pictures of the room, but I will look.

Thanks, I feel much better, as we will have a port-a-crib in there. Maybe they gave it to me for that reason!?!?!?!?

We stayed in 2004 in November 2003 and we loved it. We were also a bit nervous because we heard that it was considered a "noisy" room, but because we were upgraded, we were happy!! Anyway, we did not hear any noise at all. The room is a bit bigger which is so nice and the window is not obstructed. All I can say, is it was fantastic and we would not hesitate to book that same room again... Have a great time!!

I stayed in 2004 in Sept 2003 and loved it. The window is huge.I thought it was quiet. It is under the quiet lounge (Sessions/Cadillas Lounge depending on which ship). The only noise I heard I would consider white noise. You might bring some kinds of a soft noise machine it the baby is bothered by strange noises. On port days you may hear extra noise due to docking.

I think the extra space will hold the portacrib just fine.

Thanks all of you.......I am relieved!!! It would be horrible to have so much excitement and anticipation, spend so much $$$, only to have an awful cabin. I won't waste any more time worrying or trying to upgrade. We are all so tired by the end of the day on the cruise that I can't imagine a little noise making any difference. I was imagining LOUD banging, etc. The baby has been raised around noise, so she should be fine. Thanks!!!
