Cab to Publix or Grocery Delivery?

For my wedding trip in September, we'll be staying at BWV for 8 days....we only need the basic breakfast and coffee supplies as we're on the dining plan, but we also need 4 cases of water (we are going on a 4 night cruise and the cases of water on the ship are horrendously expensive) - and I drink a LOT of bottled water....

Do you think we'd be better off getting a cab over to publix and picking up this stuff or getting Garden Grocer to deliver? How far is the Publix from BWV?

We find it better to rent a car for the day.

Using web discounts, the cost is almost the same, plus you can shop at more than one store and/or for non-DDP families, eat a meal off site.

I can see doing that on our next trip - but this one is going to be pretty "action packed" already - so I'm looking for a quick and easy solution that doesn't make us miss much park time...plus we are on the DDP and have reservations for dinner each night...

We use Wegoshop.com on every trip to wdw. Marge is fabulous. You make a grocery list on line, she will call you to set up delivery time. It is so easy and the delivery fee is less than buying 5 bottles of bottled water at the world! We have used Marge probably 5 times in the last 5 years and have been 200% satisfied every time! Happy Honeymoon. My husband and I honeymooned at GF 20 years ago this year, bought DVC for our 10th anniversary and are headed to OKW for a 20th anniversary/16th birthday trip July 31st!!!

Oh MY and I didn't notice that you are from NS! I'll add that I married a wonderful man from Canada(a mountie:), and we have lived happily ever after!
All the best! :bride:

It might still make more sense to rent a car, particularly if you have a busy schedule. You'll be wasting a lot of time waiting for busses, and getting from resort to resort for dinner reservations can take an hour or more each way. You will save so much time having a car, you will be so glad you did.

My guess is it would cost $15 +/- each way to
publix, about a 5-10 min drive.

If OP is at BWV, does anyone here think it would be easier to get the water at the Hess Station that's so close to that resort?

Oh! Maybe that would be easier!! Does anyone know if they carry cases of water?

I know they used to carry packs of 12....I hope someone can answer you, because if you're at BWV for awhile, you'll have lots of opportunities to buy the water. I've often seen people walking back with cases of beer, it's so much less expensive there than at the resort.

Once I had to take a cab back to BCV from the Queen of the Universe shrine that's near a Publix. With the tip, that one way cost me $30+ a bit more. If you can't get the things at Hess, I wouldn't count on doing the cab....I would do a grocery delivery or the 1 day car rental.

I like gardengrocer.com. The service is great, the site is easy to use and they are prompt.
