I just read that NBC is not extending the contract for Providence. It will end with a two-hour show on December 20.

I only started watching in the last year or so and really enjoyed it.

I'll miss it but I'm not totally surprised. I live in RI and they haven't even come on location to film in at least 2 years.

That's the second whammy the city has had recently. Their long-time mayor just had to resign his office when he was convicted of racketeering and sentenced to jail time.

O!! I love that show!

Now, just get your friends to tune in. It's the lack of 18-34 viewers that did the show in even though they won the time slot. :(

I too love that show. I have watched since day 1. Please everyone watch.

I lost interest after the first season or so. Joni annoys the bajeebers out of me. It's nice to see a vet on TV, but it's SOOOOO unrealistic! That man MIGHT be able to afford to live in a trailer with the amount of business he does! (not to mention that everyone leaves without paying him!)

I thought I was the only one who noticed that nobody paid for vet services!!! Not only that, he just keeps the animals overnight to watch them without even getting a name or anything from the owners!!!

i liked it but here they switched the day it was on 3 times in one season...I lost interest only because I could not find it.

That figures. The only show I actually sit down and watch on weekly basis. But I'm at the age 40 mark! Maybe that's why...all the 18-34 year olds are out having a good time on Friday night. Me, I'm just an old, boring married lady and mom!:jester: :)

I liked it too, but too much didn't make sense for me. I wish they'd straighten it out instead of cancelling it.

I have been a faithful watcher of Providence since it first aired and I'll miss it.:(

That really stinks. I love that show. NBC does it again, get rid of a good show because the "target" group doesn't watch. A few years ago, they had a wonderful sitcom. It was "Stark Raving Mad", the show even won some type of award for best new comedy and NBC pulled it.

What a bummer - Providence and Friends are my two favorite shows. I will really miss it!

I think the show was kind of dying (bad storylines, no interesting characters anymore) and it's probably better off that they put it to sleep than let it drag on another year or two.

If the producers of the show could improve upon it, maybe they could try selling it to another network like a few other shows have done?

I too, LOVED Stark Raving Mad, and now I watch "Monk" with him in it.;)
