I'm currently staying at the BWV and walked around the building yesterday. On the first floor all the way at the end of the hall they are working on the last 4 rooms. They are painting the door on the preferred side blue and the standard view side a red. This is a change from being all green.

The hallway is also decorated differently. The wall paper below the chair rail is now gone. It's painted a yellowish green and the upper portion of the wall is now wallpapered. Its a green and yellow vertical strip paper.

I looked into one of the rooms they were working on and the furniture was all gone along with the carpet.

I've attached a link to the photo's I took. Sorry no photos of the inside of the room. There was people in there working and they didn't know I was there. Didn't want to get anyone into trouble.

Nice to hear a first hand report that the BWV rooms are in the process of being rehabbed.

Thanks for posting!

we were just there this past week and HK and a worker came in our room to measure for new curtains.

Very curious to see pictures! So, will they differentiate view categories by room door color now?

I am glad they are refreshing, but definately sorry that they are changing the look and character of the place.
I loved the look of the Boardwalk slats in the hallways... I can remember DD pretending to take a stick and make a thunk, thunk, thunk noise walking down the hall. It was unique and fun and casual.
I loved the color blue in the kitchens... I hope that stays?
I hope they are not taking away the charm of the resort. I don't want to own a piece of some generic hotel. I loved the theming of my resort.
Multicolored doors?... I prefer not having anyone know that I spent more points for my room because I can't live without that view. The point savers are going to laugh at me. Are the GV's going to be gold?
If I own the place, how come they didn't ask me first, before messing with my "Home"? I'm calling Mickey.

Thanks for the pictures... I am not sure how I feel about the new wall paper either. Seems so different.

I think we'll have to see when it is all finished. We are big fans of BWV's but it certainly was getting very tired looking. In particular the hallways looked 'well travelled'. I'm looking forward to seeing it in October !

I still miss the original carpet and wallpaper - the carpet that looked like a boardwalk in the halls, and an oval area rug in front of the unit entrances, with the white picket fence wallpaper.

Thanks for the pics. I'm going to miss the "fencing". I wonder what those stripes are going to look like when looking down the long stretches of hallway. I'm glad to see they're finally refurbishing the rooms more. I wonder if there's any chance they will be replacing those wacky electric stoves with the the "sprung" burners with the new flat surface ones like OKW has. Keep the pics and updates coming please.

Ugh. I, too, am not a fan of the new wallpaper. The colored doors don't bother me, but I can't stand the new wallpaper. When I was reading the review of the rehab, I was hoping this was temporary wallpaper, but it's not looking like that's the case.

Guess I am the only one....but I like the new look!!!!!:cool1: I'll try and get some updated photos when I go to WDW in 10 days!!!;)

The wallpaper looks like it belongs in a turn of the century hotel that never changed the wallpaper. That would be ok, except I equate that to being in a dive/dump, especially since BWV has a bit of the whole twilight zone hotel thing going for it.

It may look great once they are finished, and sometimes pictures don't do things justice.

Really, its not that bad, but I prefer the previous look.

We're on the 3rd floor with the "old" wallpaper and I like it alot better than the new stuff.
Our room is in great shape except our sofa has several stains and looks overall dirty. If they replaced it, our room would be very good.

Is it one of the old sofas or the newer style? If the newer style, shouldn't be more than a year or so old, which doesn't sound good for it to be in that kind of shape.

We just came back in the beginning of May from a wonderful trip, and the rooms seemed fine to me. The hallway carpeting was worn in some spots, but we loved the theming of the hotel. I was a bit worried after seeing pictures here and on another site, but I can first-handedly state that pictures sometimes do not do justice.

I don't mind the new wallpaper and I believe that look that they are going for is for the color palatte that is located on the outside of the Villas building: Yellow, Red, White and Blue. I personally prefer those colors compared to pastels. I just hope that even with these changes they still maintain the whimsical feel to the hotel. I love feeling like I've been transported to another place and time...:)
