We (DH, DS7, DD3 & me) recently booked a 5 night stay, BWV standard view :cool1: for Jan 2008!

I've read a lot about the long hallways but we were not too scared by that. I haven't found too much other information out there which brings me to ask you:

What are your favorite features, memories and/or tips about the BWV?

Many thanks for your replies!

Well, as Richyams used to say, you can sit on the balcony and reach into your refrigerator for a cold beer. He was a big OKW fan. :goodvibes

When we were there last with our 3 children, we would go down to the Boardwalk and hang out for the entertainment. There was always a lot of activity in the evening/night. Every night they had some kind of sports activity going in the little grassy courtyard area right below the main lobby near the boat launch. My kids would always get involved in a soccer or football game. That was one of the best memories of our trip, and it wasn't even in one of the parks. Memories like this are why we love our DVC.

We have stayed at BW quite a few times and loved every single time. THere is a special feeling staying there. When you walk into the lobby and see out to the lake, I just love that moment. I also love the Boardwalk area, the view, the little stands, the entertainment. It's like a park in itself. My son adores playing the games on the BW and I like to just sit there and watch the people. The hallways were never that big of a deal to me, they are long, but it's ok. The best part of BW and BCV is the nights coming from Epcot. I LOVE to walk back from World Showcase. It is the best. Have a great time!

And you can clean the entire villa with only one paper towel. Sorry, had to add that.

To the OP, my favorite memory is watching the juggler in the BWV main lobby (he was working in there because it was too cold out). I also remember the "kick" of the Roller Coaster Meltdown drink at the pool bar.

We love taking the walkway along the water and looking back at the BWV from the otherside. Nice walk at night. We would stop and get Ice Cream first then enjoy the sounds during our walk.

I love the atmosphere at night on the boardwalk, feels like a carnival.

Love the boardwalk view, I always book at 11 months.

Thank you all for your responses! And Granny thanks for the tip on searches - I was just putting in BWV but not finding what I really wanted to know. The thread you included was great. Being a "newbie" I was wondering who Richyams was - he sounded like a great dis character to know! The carnival feel and sports on the lawn are exactly what I was looking for. The roller coaster meltdown drink is now on my list to try! You guys are great - many thanks again for your posts!!!!!

Anyone else have any tidbits to share?

I LOVE getting an ice cream and people watching!

Great games for the kids, especially at the pool...

Love how beautifully decorated the rooms are. So lovely and relaxing!

LOVE the BWV's!

Jellyrolls - the dueling piano bar - is always a must-do on our list. I spent many nights there on the college program, and I think it's the best piano bar I've ever been to. The pianists are very talented, but keep it clean too.

I've also ridden the surrey bikes with a group and that was a lot of fun.

We loved the night-time entertainment and got in the zone of coming back to the resort around 8:30-9pm to just hang out along the boardwalk until 11-ish.

Also - the view    . The boardwalk view was so great that I could have been staying ina shoebox at the end of a mile-long hallway and I would not have minded. I wanted to sleep with the curtains open.

Yes I secomg that about the veiw! I will even get up early or stay up late just to sit on the porch and enjoy the beautiful veiw....

My kiddos like to visit the Community House as well. There are activities there every afternoon, some free and some for a small fee. The video game can be played free of charge.

I also love the stroll at night along the walkway from MGM back to the BWV.

Being able to walk or take the boat to MGM and EPCOT is wonderful. We also love the comfy furniture on balconies outside the lobby. The perfect place to people watch or even catch a little nap. Also love the "street" entertainers on the Boardwalk at night. It's like coming back to a party when you return to the resort at night. Oh! And the Bakery for breakfast at a table by the water!

We'll be at the BWV in 3 weeks and I cannot wait! This will be our first stay since 1 night at the BWI in 1998.

I love the ragtime playing, bicycle riding piano man on the Boardwalk. And the magician. And the juggler. And Jellyrolls. You get the picture...I love it all!

My favorite things about the BWV's are sitting out on the balcony later at nite and just looking out on the BW. AND going to BWBakery to pick up coffee and a bagel or danish and sitting out at the tables watching the boats and people walking by. These two things give me so much pleasure that I can spend a good portion of my vacation just doing this...

Yea even more reasons to be even more excited about our trip!!!

Our last trip (Jan 2006) was only 3 nights at WL we didn't even make it to Epcot or the surrounding area. Reading all your posts I realized how much fun we missed missed out on! No worries though - we will make up for it this trip!

Thanks again for your posts! Hope you have a fantastic trip dsneygirl!

I like the Bellevue Lounge.

I remember vividly when my kids were too little to reach in the pool and we seemed to spend a week in the loaner lifevests from the community hall helping them paddle around the pool. The next time we went, they were big enough to swim - and we watched them go down the slide over and over and over again.

I like walking through the gardens on the Inn side for a quiet moment.

I remember pedaling those golldarned surrey bikes up the hills and around the lake - with two freeloading children ringing the bell. They've been told "not again until you are old enough to help pedal!"
