BWV change from 1BR to 2BR - can you pay $ for the diff.?

As Miss OCD married to Mr. Spontaneous, you'd think I'd learn to not be surprised! Anyhow, DH has decided to make some changes - 9 days out.

As I said in my other post, MIL may be joining us in our 1BR. I know it will be a tight squeeze (DS's are 8 &11), but she's totally fine with it. (And, actually I really don't have a problem with her being there). But...

I'm just wondering if I can "upgrade" from a 1BR to a 2BR without breaking the bank (provided it's available). I called CRO and I can get a Studio for $329/night. She said the BWV can just "join" this with our 1 BR. That's nice, but I'm sure the cost of a 2BR vs a 1BR + a Studio is much cheaper.

My best case scenario would be to pay $ for the difference between the 1BR I have (on rented DVC pints) and a 2BR. But, am I dreaming? Is this possible?

EEEEEKKKKK!

No, sorry. We're not allowed to combine cash and points for the same unit. Perhaps you can get the member who originally rented the points to you to check for availability for a 2 bedroom and rent you the additional points required. It's last minute, so that might not work, but it would be worth a try.

FWIW - I'd probably just try to find an air mattress for the one or two nights you have an extra body. Bet the boys wouldn't mind that at all. :teeth:

As Carol said, you cannot combine points and cash for a reservation. And you would not be "adding on" to your 1BR reservation, you would actually be cancelling that reservation and reserving a 2BR...a completely new reservation. So even if you get the points, don't let go of that 1BR until you know the 2BR is available.

And I suppose I'll get in trouble for this, but you might not know that you are exceeding the occupancy limits for the 1BR unit. I haven't read your other post yet, so that might have already been discussed. If so, I apologize for the redundancy.

Edit to add: I just read your other post and see that was already discussed. Sorry about that. A 2BR would be your ideal solution, but if you can't get the points as Carol described, you might find that the studio is the way to go. Your MIL might appreciate a little of the privacy anyway!

Thanks for such a quick response!! I really appreciate your help! Atleast now I know what my options are.
