Hola!

DH and I will be staying at the BWV w/ BW view next October. I do not really care much about the noise from the people on the BW at night, however, just wondering, if your room is closer to the Jellyrolls/Atlantic Dance end- can you hear the music/noise coming from those clubs?

When I check in, should I ask to be closer to the General Store area??:confused3

Thanks!:flower3:

I have never noticed it to be noisy. I love staying above Jelly Rolls and Atlantic Dance because of the wonderful view of the Epcot fireworks. I think we are usually on the 4th or 5th floor. With the french doors shut, I don't think I hear a thing. It is one of my favorite views at DW!!

That is our preferred room and we have never had a problem with noise.

I find it to be "noticable but not disturbing" - haven't been down as far as JellyRolls. Have been above Big River (and honey, he just isn't that into you - listening to people who have had too much to drink talk was part of the charm - and you could hear them - but not make out what they were saying - with the door closed). The end over the screen door is worse because the boat bell and the game noise cuts through the building better than voices - even with the doors closed.

But again, noticable, not disturbing to us. I think it depends a little on how much ambient noise you have at home - my brother in law who lives in the middle of no where found it more disturbing than we did from the 'burbs. And compared to living in the city, there was no noise at all.

I've been one villa away from the end of the JR's end...we never heard anything coming from the club. I've had villas all along the boardwalk and really never really noticed any 'people' noise...except for the occasional 'over drinker' leaving JRs at closing. If it's around that time I normally wake up (gotta love getting older!!) then yes, I may notice them.
But normally, the only noise I really can hear are those bells that ring on the basketball toss game, but they shut that down before it gets really, really late...maybe by 10-11 or so.

There is definitely some noise, but I don't think it's that bad, and as Goofy4Tink has said, it is usually done by about 10-11. They do powerwash the Boardwalk some nights, but it's not that bad.

One thing of note is that sometimes when Jellyrolls closes at 2:00, you'll hear drunken idiots walking by.

Thanks everyone!!!:grouphug:

I was just more concerned with hearing music from those 2 places. But it sounds like it will not be a problem. We bring a sound machne with us on vacation:rolleyes: So that will probably cut down on the "drunken people noise"

Thanks again!

You won't hear anything from Atlantic dance which is really quite a ways from the last boardwalk view DVC room. There are no rooms over Jellyrolls. And as long as we have been going to boardwalk with boardwalk view (many years) we never heard anything from Jellyrolls (in fact I have never heard anything from Jellyrolls walking past its front door on the boardwalk at night). Also note that the last DVC rooms with boardwalk view end just before Jellyrolls begins and all of those at the end are 1BRs so if you do not have 1BR you won't get one of those.

The only time I had a noise issue was when we were in a second floor room right above Big River. It was June and people were out late, well after midnight. I always request top floor. I was in the same room on the 4th floor last October and didn't notice any noise.

Thanks, I did not know that about the 1 bedrooms!:thumbsup2

oops, sorry

op, we stay in bw view villas twice a year (studio, 1 and 2-bdrm units) and our experiences have been the same as other posters. the only time we've noticed noise is when trying to take a daytime nap: the sounds from the carny games might cut into your slumber. however, i've found a sound machine drowns what little noise there is. we normally request upper floor first, then near elevators.
we've had more problems trying to sleep at the bcv's where the hallways were very loud from early am through late at night (worse during emh's).
enjoy!

We are getting a studio:cutie:

I will ask for an upper floor. I do not mind walking, so being close to the elevators does not matter.

I was staying at YC last month for the TOT 13K. We got dropped off at BW and walked back to YC right as JR & AD were closing. It may have been an exceptional night but those were some of the loudest, most obnoxious drunks I'd ever heard and I worked in a bar for 2 years. Good to hear that isn't the norm.

The only time we had a real problem with outside noise at BWV, we were in a studio on the Boardwalk side, right above the walkway between the village green and the pool area, where the arcade and health club are located. There were a LOT of noisy people in that tunnel at night, coming back to their rooms, and the voices echoed right up into our room, I think through the floor, since closing all the doors tight made little difference!

This sounds like a preferred view, not a BW view. It sounds like you were facing the Village Green and could see part of the BW. The corner room IS a BW view, but that corner room is a 1 bedroom.

We have noticed some slight noise but closing the patio doors and the drapes seemed to solve the problem for us. I think one time we heard some drunk conventioneers at about 2:00 AM.

The worst noise issue I had at BWV BW view was from the constant "Ding" from whatever the arcade game was right across from my studio. Thankfully, they closed down around 10:30pm.
