BWV add-on waitlist came through

BWV add-on waitlist finally came through. The deal isn't as great as I had hoped. I could have purchased points at BCV or HHI or Vero on the promotion that they were running with the buyback of the current use year points. That would have amounted to betwee $5 and $15 discounty per point.

The BWV points are now available, but at full price of $84 per point. I was so excited about the waitlist coming through, but now am disappointed. I was thinking that the same deal would apply to BWV add-ons.

I want to buy BWV because that is the place that I call "home", and the place I want to have the 11 month window for. I have previously stayed at OKW and VB, and liked both. I like the option of having preferred view at BWV, and like the location.

I wouldn't be able to buy enough additional points to make an add-on at BCV worthwhile with the 11 month window. Maybe 50-60 points. I don't think there is much a person can do with that. I have to vacation during holidays or summer with school/work schedule. Lots of points.

Is it still worth it to buy BWV points at full price????

I think I only paid in the high $60's when I first bought in. I am not sure I even need additional points. I own 205 at BWV and another 35 at HHI. By the way, I haven't yet stayed at HHI even though I have the points. That was probably a waste of money for me. I take two or three trips per year. I have the option of Shades of Green if I run out of points.

I am not sure if I should do it........

What is your use year for BWV and how long have you been on the wait list???

My use year is April. I was on the waitlist twice. The first time, I was shocked when it came through, but things had changed, and I Couldn't do an add-on at that time.

This time, I was on for several months, can't remember exactly when I got on.

With an April use year are you getting April 2003 points to start?They probably can't go back and give you April 2002 points to do magical beginnings,it's too late. You could always rent your 2003 points to get some money back.

Does 'Magical Beginnings' apply to waitlist add-ons at BWV??

It applies if you buy 100 points or more. We just did an add-on at VWL (150 points) and were given $10 MB. With all the resales getting bought back below $70 or so, it was only going to save us a few hundred dollars. Since September VWL was available at the time through Disney, we jumped on it.

Just decided! I requested 71 additional points to bring my BWV points to 300. I also have 35 points at HHI.

I hope this is enough to do a nice vacation once or twice per year. I will probably never be able to do a grand villa, but don't think I'd want all those relatives with me anyway!

Congratulations on your decision! We are on the wait list at BWV too (about 29th in line). We figured Disney would charge the 84 per point. That will be great for you to have your add on points as a part of your 11 month window. ENJOY!

I just called again to request an additional 15 points. That would bring my total points to 350. I'm inching it up.

I just keep getting weaker and weaker by the minute.
